crisp bacon, local brewery glaze, lobster mashed potato, glazed baby carrots
panko coconut crusted with pineapple dipping sauce
We chose to go here based on a friend’s recommendation. It was just “alright.” The best thing was a coconut/pineapple sauce for the fish. Wish I could have bottles that up and took it home.
2nd experience. Our first experience was perfect which is why we returned. Not a lucky this time…The scallops over cooked, potatoes dry, meat was undercooked. Mojito was entirely too syrupy. We both suffered upset stomach the rest of the night. Definitely not worth $120.00
Love the beach and sunset view! Our server was a sweetheart and very attentive. I had an appetizer (shrimp) and a vegetable side and it was the perfect amount to go with my beer!
Came to visit key west for the day with my significant other. Both of our first times in key west. We picked this restaurant on a whim because we both were getting hangry. It definitely did not disappoint! Plus halfway through our meal (since we were the first seating for dinner), a band showed up. Everyone was friendly, courteous, and prompt. Price was reasonable for everything. Enjoyed that they had an option for you hook it we cook it. That’s nice for those into fishing! Key lime pie was to die for! Still drooling thinking about it!
Unfortunately, the food and service fell short. While those that ordered the triple tail enjoyed it…those that got the scallops were underwhelmed (only ate 1.5 and had to eat around the edges of those, as they were not done properly) the mashed they came with were good, not great (needed butter, none provided) and whatever else was served on the plate with bacon on top was not good at all. The carrots were underdone as well. Two people ordered the pasta carbonara and ate it but it was nothing special on top of the unstable bowl making it difficult to cut the shrimp tails…not recommended. The waitress checked on us once…before we had a chance to take a bite. She got a drink wrong (and served the same drink with a piece of something in it) and let us fend for ourselves. We actually had to leave the table to chase someone down to run our credit cards only to be told the waitress was the only one that could do it. Clearly she was overwhelmed by the number of tables she had. She might have been doing the best she could but there were other staff members that were not busy that could have helped her…especially at check out. We will be back on island in two weeks and again in February. With all the great restaurants on the island (and we had solid, if not great, service elsewhere), Southernmost Beach Cafe will not be on our list for a return visit any time soon.
The food was very good. Restaurant is open and right on the beach. They have outdoor seating. Service was great. We will for sure be back.
The view from the outdoor dining was spectacular at sunset. The meal portions are large so we could share the salad and the entrees were creative and tasty. A bit pricey at an average of $40 per entree and starters around $21.
Great waterfront view. Nice selection of specialty drinks. Food was all cooked properly. Service was very friendly and efficient. Very enjoyable time.
We were greeted by Brad who was welcoming, kind and funny. The yellowtail snapper was prepared perfectly and the fish fry was delicious. The chef came out to check on our experience. We were delighted to tell him that we were very happy with the overall experience.
Service and meal
Average, view from pier for sunset obstructed by wether towers, better places in the city to get a sunset!
We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was very good. The roosters and chickens added to our enjoyment!
The food and view was amazing. 3 drinks 2 breakfast meals was $72+ Definitely not a save your money kind of place. But would definitely go back!
The food and service were very good. Unfortunately, it rained that evening and the weather wasn't going to get any better. The floor in the restaurant was dirty and the women's restroom desperately needed attention. A guy at the bar was drunk, loud, and obnoxious, dropping the "F" bomb every other sentence, but the bartender did nothing. Made for a less than enjoyable dining experience. We will not patronize this restaurant in the future, but for the food.
Great view right on the beach. Good food and service but if you come to key west get used to seeing chickens and roosters every where they enjoy outdoor restaurants too
We really enjoyed our experience at Southernmost. The food was delicious and we had a great view. Unforgettable.
Awesome as Always!!!!!
Great food and location. Very good wait staff. We ate there twice during our trip.
The food was terrific. The views are fantastic. They had a musician playing and he was awesome. We may go back a second time this trip
The idea was nice...However...Chickens were running around, f*cking & fighting, flying towards tables. Pigeons flying inside in the rafters. Waiter spilled my drink and didn't bring another one. Steak was overcooked and as soon as it was served couldn't enjoy it because of the flies. We were seated by the bar, where there was a dog barking.
I had a Dirty Goose martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. We had the pork belly appetizer that was delicious. My boyfriend got the Key West fish fry which he loved. And I had the drunken scallops with lobster mashed potatoes. Our meal was a 10/10 very good. And we got to eat right by the water and watch the sunset.
Maybe we hit an off night but it took about 15 min for a server to show up at our table. She must have been new too since she was not familiar with basic beer selections and the menu. The avocado and tuna and grouper cheeks appetizers and their watermelon and beet salad were outstanding. The scallop and yellow snapper were also good but my carbonara was very bland.
Too many flies in the outside seating area. Otherwise good. Nice view
This restaurant was beautiful. Situated right on the beach overlooking the water, it wad breezy and pleasant. Food was outstanding. Our server was attentive. If watching the sun set in Key West is part of your itinerary, do not hesitate to see it here.
It was very ok here. I chose it because I saw a previous review on it being good for anniversaries and it’s not. For a typical dinner it fine, but for a special occasion I would look elsewhere.
Waitress was nice. View was good. Lobster tail was terrible. Tasted like gas fumes. We ordered 2 and neither person was able to eat it.
Beautiful setting. Outdoor seating is shaded and very comfortable. Does not have direct view of sunset but still worth a visit. Fish and burgers were great.
Somewhat disappointing..not what it used to be. Food has gone down hill and server was overwhelmed by high maintenance large groups and we got bare minimum service. Go elsewhere. It's a shame as a few years ago we wanted to eat here every night. Sad.
Only our waitress was nice. Everyone else was rude, lazy and on their phone.
Really enjoyed the food and Sara is the sweetest, nicest server. She is caring and she made our night
Scallop with lobster mashed potatoes was delicious. Mixed fried seafood was ok. The fried fish fillet lacked flavor if not using the dipping sauce.
Small menu, but delicious food. Key Lime pie is to die for. Sit outside, if possible - the view of the water is gorgeous. A little pricey, but that’s just Key West.
Southernmost Beach Cafe was wonderful! The staff was friendly and food and drinks came quickly and were delicious. Due to a flight delay, they were able to change our reservation and accommodate us, which was really wonderful. Would definitely return here.
Had very rude waitress. 8pm reservations, seated at 810. First thing waitress says is “last call for food is 830”.. she repeated that statement twice in ten minutes. So rude and unprofessional. I will never return
Our meal was enjoyable, I had the fish combo, my son had the steak. Service was good and the view is nice. However, 2 of the 3 restrooms were out of order and the one that was open was understandably busy and dirty...
Food is always delicious and the view is always amazing!
Great food and location loved the scallops!!
I suggest going elsewhere.
The toilets were not working and the condition of all bathrooms were unsanitary, the toilets have been backed up for 3 days.
Towels on the floor of the toilet and chickens were in and out the kitchen.
Fly’s everywhere.. for spending $200.00 it was awful
Good was good. Other than that. I rather go to Chick-fil-A
