South Ridge Seafood Ratings and Reviews
Remains one of our most favorite restaurants in Breck. We're frequent diners because we live in Colo Spgs and get to Breck at least one a month. The house smoked trout appetizer (ask for the smaller portion if it's just two of you), shared hearts of romaine, and red trout (shared) combine to make a wonderful dining experience. The great food is coupled with an always warm and friendly service staff.
We tried this again after being disappointed last time. This time the food was definitely better but the service was just ok. I am not sure they really know what they want to be. The food was good and they could really be a fine dining restaurant but the awful tables and chairs make it look more like a fast food restaurant. The server was friendly but really just doing her job - no effort to make the experience more enjoyable.
My family of four (kids are 6 and 8) had dinner here on our last night in Breckenridge. We all agreed that it was our best meal. The calamari appetizer salad is DELICIOUS. I could have eaten it as my meal with some of the yummy biscuits. But luckily I didn't, because the scallops were also great. My husband had the fresh catch, which he loved. My daughter decided to eat all of the shrimp from my husband's dinner, so my husband and son ate her hot dog. This was on top of the enormous Kobe burger that my son ate all of (did I mention that he's 8? it was a really big burger...). For dessert, we got the chocolate cake - which had the best ice cream with it - and the berry cheesecake which had a great biscuit-like top that was really unique. YOU SHOULD TRY THIS PLACE!!!
Everything we ordered exceeded our expectations. Mussels to die for. Delicious lobster bisque and my husband can’t stop talking about the ahi tuna. Trout was perfect. They also make excellent homemade lemonade, perfect after being on the slopes all day, satisfied the thirst. Will definitely return.
South Ridge exceeded my expectations. My boyfriend and I split four small-plates. The Salmon Poke was outstanding. We also hot homemade clam chowder, a salad a clam special. The 'small-plates' were a lot bigger than I thought, which was nice, so we left stuffed. Will be back!
We ordered the mussels which were flavored very well in a tai coconut sauce. The biscuits with honey butter were great. Their featured soup was the Tom yum, which was very mild but good. The New England style clam chowder was excellent. Lastly, the beet salad was underwhelming and needs a bit of work.
An excellent meal for our family board meeting. We had a reservation for 6 at 7:00. Our table was ready and waiting. We had wine, appetizers, a wonderful meal and dessert. I recommend the seared sea scallops highly. Thanks again for a wonderful experience up in Breckenridge!
It was our 1st time at South Ridge Seafood and were delighted. The food was fantastic and the presentation was great. The staff were knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant. And so very friendly and helpful. I walk with a cane and they were wonderful at helping around and even helped with the shuttle. Fun evening for my husband and myself.
We ate at South Ridge Seafood our first night in Breckenridge. We were seated immediately at an open booth and greeted by our waiter David. After he answered several questions, I began with a Dry Dock Apricot Blonde craft beer from Colorado that was part of the rotational Bar Tap recommended by David. I also ordered the P.E.I. mussels that were bathed in a Thai curry coconut sauce. Although a bit spicy for my liking, I ultimately enjoyed the appetizer because of the delicious mussels. My wife enjoyed a wonderful green salad with apples covered in a delicious honey champagne vinaigrette dressing. We then moved on to two outstanding entrees. My wife enjoyed a special chicken scallopini which were accompanied by three delicious ricotta ravioli in addition to asparagus and grilled red peppers. I enjoyed an amazing pan-seared Rocky Mountain trout which had a shrimp bacon potato hash and broccolini. Our first dinner on this Colorado adventure was a wonderful experience and we recommend the South Ridge Seafood for all Breckenridge visitors.
When we walked in we asked for a booth and was told it was not available. Then after we were seated at a table a different person seated the next couple and asked if they wanted a booth or table. So that was disappointing. We both ordered a seafood entre and though they sounded good on the menu, they did not really taste great. I ordered the "Grilled Market Fish" with cilantro-coconut risotto cakes, snow peas, gulf shrimp, tom yum broth. There was so much broth that the risotto cakes were so soggy! The shrimp looked and tasted like frozen shrimp that was just thawed and thrown in the dish. No flavor. My husband order the trout with potato-bacon shrimp hash. The hash sounded good but it really was pretty plain and contained the same shrimp that I had in my dish (tasted like frozen shrimp with no seasoning). It was a bit disappointing.
Research guided us here and the outstanding menu and great waiter Adam will bring us back. Loved the trout and halibut. Enjoyed calamari , soup and trout dip as starters. We felt like special guests from the moment we arrived with a reservation, it was a busy Sat. night until we left. Well paced and none of the all too common response of "no problem whatsoever" when a request is made.
We can't wait to return.
First visit to this restaurant, but won't be the last. We were greeted on arrival and shown to our table. Most tables on ground floor were already reserved, so suggest reservations. Our server, Connor, was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about area and menu. My halibut was prepared perfectly over coconut, cilantro risotto cake. Husband had seared Ahi presented beautifully, also. They gave us our choice of free dessert to celebrate anniversary. Easy to find this new location on the main street. Noticed large patio upstairs that had gorgeous views of the mountains. Loved it!
