The menu was a bit uninspired and boring. I wish there were more small plates/apps to try. It was hard to decide on an entree because none were really that appealing. If you aren't very adventurous, the menu is for you! However, I loved the decor/ambiance and drinks!

We had a reservation for 7:15 on a Saturday night and were seated punctually. It is a quite loud and dim dining area so I wouldn't suggest going if you intend to have a meaningful conversation. Our food was fine (read- unremarkable, not bad, just fine) with the skillet cookie being the strongest offering. The fried baby artichokes were unusual compared to the previous preparation- they were not quite fried and not quite in the form of an artichoke. Just shredded up oily baby artichoke leaves with two slices of fried (meyer?) lemon on top. Our waiter was precise but seemed tired and spread thin between his tables. Overall just meh.

South End was recommended by a family member as their favorite in New Canaan. Good choice! Super creative menu plus specials. Lots of good choices to pick from. Had the Manhattan Clam Chowder from the specials....really tasty! Then had veal chop milanese for my main and it was even better. Great piece of veal to start with, pounded and lightly breaded, on the bone, with really fresh greens and thin sliced fresh mozzarella. So good! Great glass of wine from Airfield Estates in Washington to match up perfectly with the food. Already can't wait to go back!

Great food and cocktails. Service was good and ambience was nice. (chic/casual) One of the best places to grab a bite in New Canaan.

Decent but overly expensive food. Noise level is unacceptable, and the restaurant made it worse with a pounding music soundtrack throughout the dinner. I could not wait to get out of the restaurant. There are so many other good Fairfield County restaurants with reasonable noise levels that I cannot imagine going back to this one.

Went there for New Year's Eve. Food and service were both adequate but nothing great that would inspire me to go back there again especially with so many other great restaurants in town.
