Oh my the garlic bread was off the charts... had the risotto and it was fantastic, just the right consistency
Service and staff were all great
Sorella has been our favorite "go-to" for dinner before attending Hartford Stage shows, combining the convenience of walkability to the stage with reliably great food, wine, and prompt service. We have our favorites from their pasta entrees, but also enjoy trying new options; ALL have been wonderful.
(The ONLY suboptimal aspect is that the noise from the always-crowded bar area echoes throughout the room, such that it can make conversation difficult, even at our table-for-two. [Sometimes we purposefully get seated in the "back" area near the pizza oven, but we did not push for this last time, only to subsequently realize our error, as it was loud for much of the meal. C'est la vie.])
All in all, though, a good and favorite spot; we'll certainly continue going.
delicious food, friendly service
Sorella's is our go to place before Hartford Stage. Their food and service has never disappointed us. We had the shrimp scampi and the burrata and fig appetizer. Absolutely delicious.
Took my team to Sorella to dinner after an all day meeting. Sorella did an excellent job. From the bartender's great service to the apps and entrees. Party of 6 and everyone walked away with impressive things to say about their overall experience.
Everyone was super nice and The food was delish!
My pasta was ehh but everyone else in my group liked their meal. This was the first time my food was not outstanding. The waiter acted like he couldn’t be bothered with us, I can’t say he was rude, just seemed a little annoyed/put out that we asked for anything. The restaurant wasn’t even busy.
The food was bad, tasteless or too salty. Had been there a while ago it was busy and the food was good and well prepared. Don't know what happen but the place was dead and the food was bad on a Saturday night.
Excellent service and food.
Went for a business dinner, need to have some quiet conversation, and this place was perfect for that, even with a bar near the table
Great menu. Perfect preconcert dinner.
The wait staff was so nice, we sat at the bar. We had the eggplant fries. They were great but the salad was the best, with grilled peaches and pea tendrils. The food was very fresh! We had the Jersey Boy Pizza and it too was very good. We were early so the atmosphere was really calm, friendly and the service was exceptional!
Service good. Vodka martini tasty but short. Wine selection adequate but very expensive. Did the 25 dollars price fixe which was a good value—included dessert. Paid extra $8.00 for very good garlic bread. But for two of us it $160.00 with a little bit more than a 20% tip.
Arrived at 8:15. Very low noise. Excellent pizza. Excellent service.
Good choice if you're going to Infinity Hall. Heck, good choice if you're going to Hartford! Bring your own wine for just $15 corkage.
Nice for casual dining.
Great salads & pasta dishes. The salmon entree was excellent. Nice house wines with good choice of the amount you might like. Great pre/post theater spot!
Good spot for a quick lunch. Needed to get some work done with a colleague so we spread out and ordered some pizzas. Staff recognized this and was unobtrusive as we got through our work and our meals!
Amazing food, cocktails, service and environment. Love Sorella’s!
Chose this restaurant due to close proximity to our hotel. We ate a very early dinner due to concert tickets. The food was very good. It is not a huge menu, but there was something for everyone who enjoys Italian food and pizza. I especially enjoyed the refreshing "4 color" salad. As someone watching carbs I also appreciated the ability to enjoy my meatballs with a side of spaghetti squash. Portions were generous and the service was very friendly and efficient. Overall we were very satisfied and would return if we find ourselves in Hartford again.
Very friendly staff. They accommodated our tardiness due to local traffic back ups. The bread and butter is delicious. Pizzas are fantastic as well. Great service. Will return next time I'm in town for dinner.
Pizzas were divine! The mushroom pasta dish wasn’t too exciting but enjoyable.
I made reservations for a high-top table in the bar area and planned for a quick bite to eat before the Yard Goats game. When we arrived, we were told there was a reservation mistake and there were no high-top tables available in the bar (there was a large group that reserved along the windows). The hostess was very apologetic, brought us to another table and allowed us to order the Happy Hour specials (which are only available from the bar area). Our waitress was fantastic (thank you Giuliana) -- she was attentive & personable. The food was served hot and fast. The pizza (we ordered 1 red with meatballs + 1 white with mushrooms) was the table favorite. A close second was the crispy brussel sprouts. We also ordered the bartenders choice drink -- a watermelon Sangria. The drink was a little weak and was only served with a small orange wedge... the only thing that was not perfect. But the draft beer (we ordered Two Roads + Sam Summer) was cold and well carbonated. Overall, a very positive experience and I will definitely return.
Always great food at Sorella. It’s my Hartford downtown go-to restaurant.
Food good. Service could be better. Sat at the bar...it was quiet. Bartender was helpful with suggestions but talked like a truck driver when customers are in hearing distance
Outstanding service and delicious food.
We had a gluten free pizza, which is homemade and it was delicious. Our table also had some regular pasta dishes that were very good. Pasta was perfect, meatballs and sauce were delicious.
This is not an Italian restaurant, it is a decent Pizzeria with some good pasta dishes and a bar. Menu on a website is much richer than In reality, and I wouldn’t recommend this pizzeria to my friends looking for an Italian restaurant.
My husband and I shared the chicken parm. It was delicious. Friends had the crab bucatini which they thought was wonderful. Three of us shared the mini cannolis. Just enough dessert after a wonderful meal.
I always have a great meal at Sorella. Their servers are all nice and professional. I can rely on a great meal there and that’s what I love about it.
We had a great experience at Sorella before attending Cirque. Michael, our server, was fabulous and made great wine and food recommendations, was great with our kids and all around enjoyable. Will be back!
Our waitresses couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating.
Awesome food and service. Very poor acoustics. Decor could be upgraded.
Great meal. Food was really good. I loved the eggplant Parm. Very different from other places.
Sorella is s great pre or post theater destination for Hartford Stage. They are welcoming and pleasant. Their pasta dishes are tasty comfort food. Also, house wine and pizza can't be beat!
The whole experience was as close to perfect as you can get. The food was divine. I have found my new spot. They will see me there often.
First visit to Sorella's. Enjoyed the food, atmosphere & experience. We will come back.
Quick service and delicious chicke parm. Very friendly staff as well.
