Four of us went for dinner and drinks. We all had some variation of tacos. They were all solidly mediocre. Fish tacos were overcooked. Pork tacos were just alright, nothing special. The table side guacamole was really good, though we asked for spicy and there was not one hint of heat. The wings appetizer was also very good. The tequila list is impressive and house margaritas are tasty. It seems their appetizer game is stronger than their entree game.
for what we paid and what we received...I would never come here again. I have been to some mom and pop Mexican restaurants that with what I paid here I could eat ten times better and visit them with my family at least 3 or 4 times with the amount I paid...shame on them for over charging for not even decent portions or even flavorful meals
Bad margaritas.. sent back the first which was their specialty & asked for a skinny margarita because the first was insanely sour. Received the same drink back with additional tequila on the top. After a few sips just left it, couldn't handle all the sour mix. Ordered pork tacos, another specialty (as marked on the menu), were just eh. Probably will not go back.
It was a great meal with good drinks and plenty of food.
Good food, service, and atmosphere. Would visit again.
My reservation was made well over a month in advance of our dinner - for my birthday celebration -- it included that information that i have a BLACK PEPPER ALLERGY. I received NO CALL or EMAIL from the restaurant to advise they are unable to accommodate my allergy.
Additionally - OpenTable reservations systems did not trigger anything to the restaurant that they should contact me due to the allergy. (a missed technology opportunity for OpenTable to assist us customers with allergies) As a customer - I assumed that my reservation and additional information [ie... allergy] would be passed along to the restaurant prior to my visit. Can it be made/coded so that the word "allergy" could trigger the reservations systems?
When the waiter greeted us, he asked who had the allergy and presented us with chips and salsa, and said he would talk to the chef about my allergy. The salsa he served -- had visible black pepper in it. Luckily I could see it, and did not take a bite. I spoke to the manager, and explained that in the past several years that I have eaten there - they were always able to offer me choices that could be made without adding black pepper. The manager advised they have a new menu, and all items contain black pepper and are already 'prepped' with exception of the guac - which is made table side.
In the end, I sadly was not able to celebrate my birthday there - and had to eat elsewhere. The Manager, however, (when I suggested and asked him to) was nice enough to call upstairs to Michael Jordan's Steakhouse within the casino and ask them to give us a table, which they did.
*NOTE - I chose 1 star ratings in food, service & value -- ONLY because there was not a n/a option. *
Great food. Loved that the guac was made right in front of you. Fast service.
Have eaten here before, had a good meal, but was disappointed with the taste of the food this time. Quesadilla was squishy, not crisp, and chicken wasnt great. Server came around but wish she'd been by more, we seemed to constantly be running out of drinks.
We had a reservation. For 630pm and we were seated right away! The food was great, our Server was wonderful!!!
I have been to SolToro many times in the past. What happened? I looked at the menu online before I dined. Upon arriving i was informed they no longer had lobster Tamales nor smoked clams. They had "revamped" their menu. Perhaps they should update it online. The array of offerings was sparse at best. Quality was poor, imo. The rice was hard and not freshly prepared. The beans were gluey.
The table side guacamole was tasteless and he forgot to put the bacon in and came back and dumped it on the prepared guacamole.
Really, the chicken quesadillas were no better than taco bell and the only redeeming part of the meal was my Margarita.
I will not be returning. It was a disappointment and an embarrassment as I brought a guest.
I would like my 82$ back. Good luck with that.
Good food great cocktails and exceptional service. Comfortable seating but very noisy hard to have a quiet conversation.
Great place! Recently renovated with plenty of seating for small and large groups. Awesome menu with options for everyone and a huge tequila/margarita selection. Nachos are fantastic and you can have guac handmade right at your table!
Food was excellent as usual. However, the drinks are too weak for the very high prices charged and therefore will no longer order alcoholic beverages. The beer too was way overpriced.
Running out of words for this place as we have been here before. We had another nice evening from start to finish. Food was excellent as always. Service was spot on...Brittany the hostess/manager took the time to chat with us and Tia our server was a delight with her smile and recommendations. We will be back again soon.
It was our 27th anniversary. We had a reservation and had to wait awhile for a table even though we were on time. We felt a bit rushed and it was very crowded. The food was good. The service was okay. I would go here for drinks in the future, but not to dine and not for a special occasion.
It was a free for all as it often is for dinner at a casino. I was afraid we'd be part of the crazyness but as soon as they saw my open table reservation I bypassed the 3 or 4 groups of upset patrons and sat down with the nicest waitress ever for my quick dinner. Staff maintained its composure even with the rudest people imaginable at thier throats. Use open table or plan dinner before everyone else has the same idea
60th birthday celebration for 4 elementary school girlfriends
Highly recommend reservations on the weekend. With the reservation we were seated upon our arrival, service was exceptional, food came quickly and was very good. Only concern would be portion size relative to price.
Sol Toro was an ok experience at the casino. service was friendly but VERY slow. took a long time to get anything, drinks, food, refills on drinks and even the check. It was ok, nothing worth writing home about, but there was nothing that was outstandingly poor either.
Food was great and so was the service. Highly recommend.
We had a reservation yet we had to wait to be seated. We asked for a booth and their were 4 open and we had to wait for one to be cleared. By the time we left, all 4 were still open. Host who sat us was not very friendly either. He definetly is not an asset to your restaurant.
Sol toro has been remodeled and looks great. Food was very good and the service.
Very nice place to eat. The food was wonderful. very good swordfish.
Very nice evening!
Used open Table to reserve seating, no wait.
Food was good, however it was a little pricey for a casual restaurant.
They do not have a kids menu.
Vegetarian Options limited. More menu choices and a kid menu is recommended.
Loved the birthday treated very nice touch.
Good time. Food was fantastic. Sangria was good. No complaints.
Very busy, loud.good food. Took forever to get refills on sodas...drinks from bar seemed quicker than soft drinks / water. Overall it was good.
FOOD WAS EXCELLENT ....
THE MAN HOSTESS HAD NO PERSONALITY NOT NICE SEEMED LIKE HE WAS AGRAVIATED TO BE WORKING DIDNT EVEN SAY A WORD .. THIS WAS MARCH 2ND 2018.. THE WAITRESS WAS VERY SWEET. SHE DID A GREAT JOB ...
Very good staff!! Food was very tasty and our waitress Melissa was perfection!!
Same tasteless food as before.. jALEPENOS were bland , not spicy at all. empanadas were tasteless.. no desire t ever return
Great birthday dinner!
Steak tacos were great
Not happy with the service this time around. Usually they do not disappoint but seemed overwhelmed. We made reservation 2 hours prior to needing to be at a show, but did not get served our food for over and hour. Was rushed at that point to eat, but food still good and drinks good.
Arrived a bit late but hostess got a table for us within a few minutes. Food was great. Our server Heidi was excellent. Will definitely go back again.
The food and service were great! It was my first time and definitely will return!
This is one of my favorites because you can always count on good food and service here. It is recently remodeled and is a bright and fun atmosphere.
I felt they were woefully understaffed and unprepared for a Friday night crowd, especially with a big show at the arena. We were seated 20 minutes late for our 6:15 reservation after arriving early at 6:00. There were numerous tables , probably 1/3 of the tables, left unseated during our entire time there. To run out of Mich Ultra by 6:30 on a Friday is crazy also.
That said, our server was pleasant, the food was good and the restaurant looks amazing with the remodel/ refresh.
Smoked shrimp tacos are amazing! The fresh guacamole is made at the table. Everything was delicious!
Not our first time here and definitely not our last! Great food and service. Aleisha was our server and she did an incredible job. Restaurant just went through major renovation with a bright, vibrant new look. You won't be disappointed here!
Stuffed jalapeños were excellent. $5 margaritas a plus. Do not love the renovation, looks like a cafeteria.
