Solterra offers delicious mediterranean style tapas and entrees that pair well with the wines that we produce. We crush about 70 tons of grapes every harvest on premise and have and diners on the weekends can dine amongst the barrels.

We source grapes from Sonoma county, Lake County, Paso Robles, San Diego County, and Baja Mexico. The wines have garnered Golds and 6 Best of Class awards at top competitions . First time there. Server, Ian, was very knowledgeable about the wine and gave great recommendations. And had enough vegan food options to fill us up. We’ll definitely be back!

We are wine club members and have been for years! Their wine club member parties are always excellent with exceptional food, wine, music and great people! We had never attended a NYE party so we thought we would give it a try this year, 2020!!! We had a 9:30 booking so it took awhile to be seated because guests at the earlier booking were occupying tables. Once we were seated, we waited a long time to get our first entree, but once it arrived, we did enjoy it. The waitress was awesome but it was apparent, they were struggling to get the meals out in a timely manner. They ran out of one of the main entrees which was ok because hubby and I ordered the filet mignon and lobster mashed potatoes. Honestly, I have eaten at so many upscale restaurants but never have I had such an excellent cut of meat and the potatoes were outstanding as well. The dessert was average but the main entree made up for it!!! The restaurant was not decorated for NYE so that was disappointing and the music was pretty awful. Will I spend NYE at Solterra next year??? Probably not, due to slooooow service and lack of a party atmosphere but I will continue to be a member because I like their wine and I will definitely be back for the filet mignon and lobster potatoes!!!

We went to Solterra for New Years, reserved a table for four. When we got there 5 minutes before our reservation, the lady on check in said there wasn’t a table available for us. Obviously we weren’t happy and after waiting 15 minutes we were seated in a dark corner outside. Food was just OK, the appetizers we wanted were sold out. Service wasn’t very good either. Overall our night was not what we expected and all four of us felt our New Years Eve was ruined by going to Solterra.

Really enjoyed our experience at Solterra... Looking for a place for good wine and Gluten Free Menu...We discovered this treasure! We were staying in Oceanside, but were happy to take the drive twice while in California. Personal Service, fresh/delicious food. Kudos to the chef for some of the best Paella I've had.

The wine is subpar, pricy and reminds me of a $10 bottle at Walmart but marked up at $50-$70. The food is advertised as shareable but it’s really not much of a good variety just plain veggies and sides nothing crazy. Large plates are just personal meals, very awkward to share with a group of 4. Food is subpar as well, really plain low flavor and kind of weak ingredients. Weak meaning nothing stood out and just reminded me of those “here are the chicken tenders but I added the parsley for the experience” Also if you are here for passport do not order apps as an entree they won’t let you use the card saying it “has to be a large plate not small plate” I’ve had this card for three years went to almost every restaurant in SD with this card and I order an app as an entree every time because I don’t eat that much and it gets comped with the passport dining card. It was ridiculous and will not be coming back, this place is honestly not worth it, so many great places in this area worth the value, this place is not.

Requested dining room table and ended up in the bar - practically yelling down the table to hear each other. Service was very good but food was nothing anyone in our group felt matched the hype. We were underwhelmed overall.
