We love Soby's as our go-to for special occasions or just a nice meal downtown. The she-crab soup is phenomenal. World-class in my book, and I've had it in many restaurants all over.
Last night, the soup was perfect but everything else was a bit too sweet for me. From the cocktail to the short rib with field peas, the sweetness was a bit out of balance.
Still a very good meal in a beautiful setting but not quite up to their usual standards.
We had a great server and an excellent meal!
Soby’s is always a great choice. The food was delicious and we had great service as well. Highly recommend!
We were not aware they were lighting the Christmas tree on main Street right in front of our outdoor seating, it was a real treat to watch it and the crowd. The food was excellent. I had the signature crab cakes. Two groups joined the outdoor seating and it was a little loud. BUT I left my credit card and our waitress chased us down on the street to return it. I can't thank her enough.
Everything was fantastic! Server was personable, and the food was excellent!
We had a wonderful evening at Soby’s. The service was slow (probably due to staffing) but the servers were very pleasant and personable. The food was fantastic and the ambiance was great! Definitely recommend. Just plan to be patient. They are doing the best they can under these circumstances!
We had a table upstairs and the ambience good. The service and the food was excellent. Lots of choices on the food and beverage menus. We had a really enjoyable evening and look forward to dining with Soby's again.
Soby’s is always a great place to visit. Their bacon wrapped pork tenderloin is one of the best on the menu along with the she crab soup. Highly recommend if you want to impress.
We really enjoyed the ambiance of the space, the server was very attentive, food was delicious! We are planning another visit to try some of the other meals!
Table for 1 is treated just as royally as Table for 6 ! Thank you. Everything I ordered from Fall salad, Filet Mignon entree, Italian wine, Chocolate mousse cake dessert was perfectly prepared and presented. I enjoyed overhearing some newer diners at the next table asking questions, placing their order, and knowing they would be SO pleased with everything also. Soby's sets the bar very high for making a dining experience memorable and delightful. 100% in my book !
As usual, their wine list tops most every local restaurants. I had the fried chicken that was a bit dry, but the coating was really delicious. We’ll be back, just won’t order the fried chicken again.
Everything was great. Restaurant was a little cold. Wear layers if you go in the winter and it will be great.
Made reservation and then was told no inside tables available. Told that the outdoor seating was warm and it was NOT! Received entree’s before appetizer—really😡. All food was served barely warm. Don’t recommend! Server(Kyle) was good
We enjoyed brunch on a Saturday. The service was prompt and friendly. Our server was able to answer questions about the menu very easily. We were able to request a few tweaks to menu items to suit our taste preferences. The food was delicious as always. Soby’s seems to be a consistently great choice for brunch or dinner anytime in Greenville.
Food and service were excellent! Impressed with the unique pairings of flavors.
I lived in Greenville for 8 years and now, living in Pittsburgh, I always take the time to visit Soby’s while in town. The food is always excellent, however, this past visit left much to be desired. From ordering to first receiving our food, it took around 50 minutes. I love their she-crab soup and it was delicious as always, however, there were several small pieces of crab shell in the soup. Not a big deal, but a little off-putting. The bigger issue was the table where we were seated. It was directly under a fan that was going full blast. The ladies in our group literally had their hair blowing around. I asked the hostess who seated us if it could be turned down and she said that they would have to turn them all off to turn that one down. This seemed rather odd. We could have had a lovely meal, one that I have come to expect from Soby’s, however, the slow service, issues with the soup, and the constant wind during the entire meal made for a less than spectacular experience. For the first time in the nearly two decades I have been eating at Soby’s, I was disappointed.
Great night with good food and wine.
I ordered the snapper, which was really fatty. I wish I had ordered something different. My husband loved his food. The environment was really nice, even after the kitchen fire and firemen showing up. 😂 The fish is the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars.
Great food, good location, easy parking, good ambiance and waiter. Always enjoy Soby’s.
Awesome as always!! ❤️
Soby's was a great celebration stop. The atmosphere was great. Our server was friendly and very attentive. And the food was modern and delicious.
Was a little disappointed this time but will go and experience it again
The real treat at Soby's is sitting at a table above the kitchen where diners enjoy an inside look at the magic that makes Soby's dishes so delicious!
Our waiter did a lovely job. The brie was delicious. The she-crab soup was lovely. It is unfortunate that a street performer was playing so loudly and not so well across the street. Our entrees were very delayed and pushed us close to the time we needed to depart for a play.
Neither bad nor good. Food was ok,but not for the price. Outside dining in tent with heater was nice.
This restaurant is going on my favorites list. The food was tasty and the portion size was perfect. My bf and I couldn't choose what we wanted so we ordered two different dishes and shared them. An excellent idea as the shrimp and grits and the fried catfish was absolutely delicious!
My wife ordered the filet mignon and I tasted it. It may have been the best I've ever had, and she can't stop raving about it. And TRY THE WHITE CHOCOLATE BANANA CREAM PIE oh my god.
Wonderful restaurant, wonderful service.
We enjoyed a relaxing meal catching up with family. The food was perfect and the atmosphere was a match!
Elevated southern comfort food at its finest. Excellent service!
We took friends for their first visit and to celebrate my birthday. Our server was delightful, and the food was delicious.
Waiter was entertaining and happy !! Great food and fun night
Thank you. For two the upstairs loft is a great quiet place to sit
Had a reservation for upstairs, but after 20 minutes they seated us in the bar..... at a DIRTY table . Then waitress stated that WE must have sat down too soon. Yet the hostess seated us. Too many other places to eat in Greenville to go back here and be treated like Soby's is doing us a favor.
One of Greenville's best. Highly recommend.
Soby's is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always delicious. I normally get the bacon wrapped tenderloin, but I opted for the salmon while my wife ordered the scallops. Both were prepared perfectly.
Terrific establishment! Great staff, great atmosphere, great food! Look forward to our next visit!
Wonderful Choice but too much noise. Food was good, our table was near a fireplace. Our meal had all the makings of a perfect evening, but TOO much noise.
Brought new neighbors who just moved to Greenville
Upon visiting Greenville we were looking for a place to dine and found this place. It was very busy for a Thursday evening. We were seated immediately (they called two days ahead to confirm our reservation). The restaurant is pretty big as we were seated upstairs and were able to overlook the kitchen. Our server came over and suggested drinks and took our order. The food was decent. I had the shrimp and grits; this dish was seasoned pretty well. They brought my friend a cute plate of chocolates and fruit for her birthday. Everyone was nice.
Always Great food, service, and ambiance! Our dinner and theater standard.
