One of the best restaurants I’ve even been to (and I’ve been to a lot of very nice spots). Everything was cooked perfectly, had great flavor, and the portions were generous. Service was nothing special, but there was nothing wrong with it. Overall I would recommend Soby’s to anyone looking to have a fantastic meal at reasonably affordable prices.
Great brunch! Outside seating a plus.
We had a noon reservation and weren't seated until almost 1230. No apologies for the wait, and no mention of happy birthday to my partner. Everything seemed to be spiced heavily, chipotle or cajun. Overall a lack luster performance from a restaurant that claims to have really great service and food.
Great brunch buffet. Nice variety of breakfast and lunch items. Like the little desserts so that you can try multiple items. Loved the salads.
Great Sunday brunch. We sat upstairs, which turned out really well. The buffet up there is the same as the main level but not nearly as busy. No wait and you can browse and choose without holding up others. Omelet station is on main level, but right at the stairway, so still convenient.
Not really any better than any other place to eat brunch. Food was cold and at times scarce. Don’t bother getting a reservation as they still honor walk ins before you. The building is beautiful but our sever took over 15 minutes to bring us drinks and tell us what was where. Then to pay it took her forever. For Soby’s to do this every weekend, it seems as though it should run smoother than it does.
Service and food was outstanding. Highly recommend.
Thank you for seeing to my food allergies and creating a one of a kind experience! Outstanding meal. Great dinning!
Great place, food, and service
Belated Birthday dinner
The food was excellent and the service was great. We had a wonderful time.
Tried Sobey’s for the first time being new to the Greenville area. The location is downtown and convenient for walking before or after dinner however parking for this restaurant could be better... we tried the fried green tomato appetizer and it was crispy and flavorful.. our entrées were well prepared however the sides were both over cooked. The server was friendly enough, however not very attentive -all in all it was a good experience, but we will probably try a new restaurant before coming back to this one
Our server did a great job and even handled a surprise drop of 3 additional people to a birthday dinner with class. Well done, good experience....highly recommended.
Great great great. Loved it, and we will be back again soon
Great as usual
The tuna special was outstanding!
I have visited Soby's several times. The food is always excellent as is the service.
I've eaten here several times. Love the atmosphere, always disappointed by the food. I guess hope springs eternal till this time. Don't think I will go back.
Always a favorite! The food, atmosphere, and service is always top shelf. Had the pork tenderloin for the first tine and it was awesome!
A friend and I were in Greenville for business, so we chose to eat at Soby’s—our favorite spot in the charming downtown area.
Our meal was wonderful. I can heartily recommend the braised beef short ribs, the she crab soup, and the oyster pie. My Irish mule was wonderful, as was my friend’s carefully hand-crafted martini. I’d also ordered something else, and our excellent waiter, Ray, could see that it didn’t meet my expectations; within a minute, he had the manager come over, ascertain that I didn’t feel that dish was up to Soby’s standards, and insisted on removing it from the check. (I never would have asked.) In retrospect, what the manager did was 150% professional; and it has endeared me even more to Soby’s.
It lives up to it's name and legacy. Super impressed by the food and service and warm atmosphere. Highly recommend their flagship restaurant.
My mom and I had a wonderful time having brunch at Soby’s! The food was absolutely delicious and we received great service.
Sunday Brunch Excellent Food & variety
Wonderful experience! Our waiter Tom was outstanding. He was attentive and helpful. It was my husband's birthday and our first time at Soby. Tom made us feel welcome and our dining experience was awesome. We can't wait for our next visit.
I usually sit in the bar area for drinks and appetizers with friends which we usually enjoy, but this time sat in the dining area to celebrate a friend's birthday. We originally made the reservation for 6 people but ended up with 5 and as a result were seated at a table for 4 with 2 people crammed together on one side. Our server was excellent. As far as the food goes, I those who ordered the entrees - shrimp and grits, filet mignon, and fish - were pleased with their meals. However, two of us ordered salads (the wedge and the spinach) along with the add-on crab cake to be served as our entrees. The salads (both $8 each) and the crab cake ($12) were really small. Mine was literally placed on a small salad plate together, that's how small it was. However, they did remove the nuts from the spinach salad as requested due to an allergy. In summary, I think the food is good depending on what you order but a little over-priced, great service, and also difficult to have a conversation due to the noise level.
Sat us 20 minutes after reservation time. We were a party of 4 and they pushed two party of two tables together at the top of a narrow staircase. Begs the question as to why bother with making a reservation.
We were seated at the time of our reservation. The service was excellent as was the food!
They had trouble with reservations, we waited 25 minutes past our reservation time. Our service was immaculate, led me to trying a great grouper/crawfish etouffee with wine pair that I never would have tried it. Service and food more than saved the reservation fumble.
We love the staff at Soby's they are always professional.
Loved the atmosphere and ambiance. Service was excellent. Server told us a little of the history of the restaurant. Wine service was also excellent. My companion and I both had the crab cakes and presentation and quality were excellent as well. Would definitely recommend and will return again.
Listen, we are in our 80's, so noise level in ANY restaurant is a problem - not just in yours. In my opinion you don't need the background "music" - but you are not catering to us.
Food was super and the service was ditto.
Of course, we'd recommend you.
Very good food. Very good service. Was pretty loud and the table we say at was pretty tiny but it wasn't too bad. I'd definitely go back.
Cocktails were awesome and it went downhill after that. Don’t understand the hype. Fried chicken was good, everything else pretty uninspiring.
What an outstanding evening and dinner. Could not ask for better food, service or atmosphere. Soby’s us always spot on.
Good place to go for dinner, but make a reservation if it’s the week-end. Great food/excellent service!
This was my 2nd visit to Soby's and I hope for there to be many more! Atmosphere is great, service was good, and food was delicious! Their crab cakes and bacon wrapped pork tenderloin were amazing! I love their veggie choices too....brussel sprouts, green beans, broccolini....yumm!! Lots of good low carb options, which I needed.
Soby's is our favorite treat when visiting Greenville. The food never disappoints! Service is excellent and the atmosphere inside or out on their beautiful patio is superb!
First time going after several people told me about and it met every expectation and then some. The staff also knew we had a show at the Peace Center and did everything they could to make sure we made the show on time. Incredible service, Incredible food and Incredible ambiance. Will definitely go back and will tell all my friends.
Great time seating above kitchen
