We came here on a whim while visiting New Orleans and it’s the best meal either of us have ever had. We cannot stop raving about the INCREDIBLE food and FLAWLESS staff. Our server was Dever and she is the absolute sweetest! They were crazy busy and the hostess did not hesitate to come over and chat to us and inform us about anything we needed to know! As busy as they were it was never hectic and the food came out in great time. The executive chef came out to chat with us and he invited us to a crawfish boil brunch they were having the next day and we couldn’t say yes fast enough. Hunter is a great bartender and was super attentive as well. Thank you to all the staff. Just incredible overall, I cannot recommend highly enough!!
Highly recommend the Sunday Burlesque Brunch! Food and atmosphere is amazing
The food was incredible. Our server was on top of everything and even though it was extremely busy she took great care of us.
Outstanding staff and service! Over the top making us feel welcome! I was desperately searching for a table with my 92 year old mother in tow walking thru the Quarter at 9:20 in the evening. No one had a table and everyone was closing. I found this reservation on Open Table by luck. We arrived at the restaurant within a few minutes. The hostess had not seen the reservation but a manager was standing by. I overheard them saying it should not have gone through as they were closed. I was promptly asked if I preferred indoor or out. I was assured I would love the courtyard and taken to a perfect courtyard with a great table. They treated us like we were special guests who had made reservations well in advance. If I had not overheard their conversation, I would have never known they were closed. They accommodated our every need. And then came the food...OMG, it was delightful! Our server was a sweetheart and never made us feel rushed for a moment. We savored every bite. I have a list of our favorites in NOLA and SoBou will always be a destination for us. I promise to make reservations in advance from now on:-)
Celebrated my brother’s 40th birthday here during the burlesque brunch featuring Bella Blue on Easter Sunday. Staff was super attentive. Food and drinks were tasty. Bella was fun, flirty, and generous with her time while dancing at our table and talking to us like old friends. We felt very welcome at this establishment. Environment felt clean and airy in light of COVID concerns still being a focus. Highly recommend.
What a delightful meal. Everything was wonderful ... food, service, cocktails...! Will definitely be back next time we are in NOLA. Thank you for everything
Thank you for your feedback and patronage to SoBou! We are thrilled to hear you'll be back next time. Cheers!
Great atmosphere, great food, fantastic service. Really enjoyed our meal, the delicious cocktails, and the location. Strongly recommend the strip steak and potatoes. Very tender and flavorful.
Thank you for your feedback! We are so happy to hear about your experience and we hope that you'll return.
Beautiful restaurant, but the food was not good at all. This was a big let down. I was with a small group and all of our food was poorly seasoned, basically bland, except for the steak and brussel sprouts. But, Who comes to New Orleans for steak? Definitely not me. The manager was nice when we shared our disappointment with her and she was nice enough to take back three of the meals. The only other issue was that our food took forever to be brought to us. That was really irritating. So, I would not visit them again.
Sherri, thank you for your feedback and patronage to SoBou! I am delighted to hear you enjoyed the restaurant, but I apologize we did not meet your expectations for dinner. We intend to take this feedback, make the necessary changes and in near future if we are given the opportunity to host you and your guests, we will exceed those expectations!
Muy buena la comida y bonito lugar
Bella Blue is a must see in Nola!
The food is elevated versions of comfort classics. The crackins are addictive. The boudin sausage is some of the best I ever had. My friends burger was way overcooked and dried out. The chicken sandwich was perfectly cooked and juicy. The cocktails are the best part. They are beautifully done and well balanced. The tasters of the daily hooch were a nice touch. The restaurant was so pretty but insanely loud. Chairs are not very comfortable and the AC was on full blast. Our server was average but definitely did not appreciate being asked to split the four person check into the two couples. She actually rolled her eyes which was a bit surprising. It’s not like we asked for four separate checks. She was great initially but wasn’t too attentive throughout. Overall it’s a great pick. The food and drinks are above average.
Tammyway, we appreciate your feedback and patronage to SoBou! I am delighted to hear you and your guests enjoyed the cracklins, boudin, chicken sandwich and cocktails. I apologize we could not meet your expectations on service throughout your dinner. I do hope we are given the chance to host you and your guests again and exceed those expectations!
For a place of this caliber , I expected my birthday dinner to be one to remember. We started off with a bottle or champagne - ordered our food shortly after. Plain and simple - silverware was not brought to the table. One person ordered gumbo, which went cold after sitting there for over 15 minutes waiting on a spoon. By the time we made the host/manager aware of the situation, it was too cold to eat. Honestly, the place was beautiful and great ambiance for a birthday dinner with friends but it was disappointing for lack of service. Will not be recommending or returning.
A little loud with the band inside but they were amazing. Our server was impeccable and the food was out of this world.
Wonderf atmosphere and wait staff. Prices were reasonable for a nicer restaurant. Great live music playing. Food and drinks were good. Would recommend the cracklins mention it’s not hot fresh ones. We expected that and heard the table next to use mention it too. Boudin balls very good. Duck/sweet potato beignets good but would have thought a little more duck- only tasted a couple bites of it. Meat pies good but not spicy as expected.
Was still very happy and would return.
Must-see stop if ever near bourbon St. especially Sunday burlesque brunch! Has not disappointed every visit in the four years since discovering the place.
Great service and food
Absolutely amazing experience. The service was amazing, waiters are super friendly (especially Brandy with a Y). The Brussels sprouts are delicious. Vegetarian friendly too! 100% recommend
The food took forever to come out. We waited more than 45 minutes without bread or snacks. The portions were small but delicious! I’d recommend the bar
Thank you for sharing your experience during your visit to SoBou. We are delighted you enjoyed the food and understand that our Small Bites can leave you wanting more. We always suggest ordering a few and sharing with the table (or enjoying them all yourself). And if you are still craving more, our Big Bite plates are sure to fill you up (or can be shared, if you’re in a giving mood) . Was amazing food. Great quality and our server was very informative about the menu.
Always enjoy Sobou and when we come to NOLA...the cocktails and fried pork rinds are a must have! Other notables include the sweet potato beignets and the gumbo was Petey tasty too!
4 appetizers. $60. Took 2 hours. They desert took 40 minutes. Our server brought us the bill and said she just cancelled the dessert cause the were taking too long. Horrible service. Overpriced. Food was delicious.
Update: executive chef called me directly and handled it extremely well. Will be making a trip back soon!
Love Sobou for its inventive small plates and tasty cocktails. Favorite thing today was crispy oyster tacos with caviar.
I was disappointed because I had specifically reserved an outdoor table, but only indoor tables were available at the time.
Went for the Legs and Eggs brunch. The show was outstanding, as was the food, drinks, and service. We will definitely be back soon.
The food and staff are amazing, I totally recommend stopping in.
My solo birthday dinner at SoBou was wonderful. The staff made me feel so comfortable. The drinks were amazing and the food was divine. Every was socially distanced, and for a Friday night, it wasn't loud, but you could tell everyone was enjoying themselves. Get the duck!!! You won't regret it!!
The food was Devine
They accommodated our outdoor seating request in a beautiful courtyard and the server was very attentive despite it being outside and further from her other tables. Food was excellent and well presented.
Great food and great service from brandy and Michael at the bar
Wonderful experience! The food was great. Our server Neene only made the experience better with her engaging personality and dedication to ensuring we were taken care of. We would come again!
The Food exceeded our expectation. The ambiance was everything!
Our server, Hunter, made our evening delightful. His menu knowledge, gift of gab, and his skill of being attentive, without being intrusive, makes him one of the finest service professionals I have ever had the pleasure to experience.
The food was sublime! Chef has created combinations of flavor profiles that are world-class, while remembering to pay homage to local fare. I would make a menu recommendation, but, I can truly say that in the several times I have visited SoBou, I have always been delighted. Try anything on the menu, you will most certainly enjoy your choices.
A Valentine Day Brunch eagerly anticipated, but just fair for a Commander's Palace company eatery. Nice brunch food selection menu, wife had the fish, and I the duck legs & eggs. The fish was underdone, still transparent in spots, duck leg was crispy sitting atop a poached egg and cream cheese grit cake. Both dishes came out cold, no not even warm, but cold. We did not complain or send them back. I had a white Russian to start the brunch which was not sweet enough with kalua, just tasted like vodka and milk, not frothy and lightly caramel colored as they should be. Wife had red wine. Waitress was friendly, but seemed like it wasn't genuine. The odd thing on top of this, was a 12 noon brunch, on Valentines Day, with a burlesque dancer wielding ostrich plume fans, prancing and gyrating between the tables. The covid mask she wore, had more material in it than the two-piece outfit she wore. Trust me I am no prude, but you would think, that on a special date with ones spouse on Valentines Day, that a guy shouldn't be tempted to look at the scantily clad burlesque dancer, especially if he was trying to be romantic and sweet to his girl. The dancer obviously was talented and attractive, it just didn't seem this was the day for this attraction. With a bunch of guys, yeah, no problem to eye the lovely lady, but with a date....odd, awkward, inappropriate.
Thank you for leaving a review. We are delighted you dined at SoBou for Valentine's Day brunch. However, we are disappointed to hear about your experience with the cuisine as this does not reflect the level of quality we strive to provide. In addition, our popular Sunday Burlesque Brunch is definitely a jaw-dropper if unexpected. As we appreciate your feedback, please reach out if there are additional details you'd like to share. 504.552.4095 We hope you considering dining at SoBou again.
Great legs and eggs brunch on Sunday’s!! Amazing performance and staff !
It was amazing. The service was great. The people were amazing. No complaints.
Great food. Great service. Drinks were awesome.
Our waitress was great.
We sat near a very loud group of people.
Not the best setting for selfies :)
The steak was a very fatty piece but able to eat around it.
Drinks are pretty pricey but I guess it’s the city prices
