World-famous burlesque dancer Bella Blue performs to live DJ music while you dine on three creative Creole courses. The Burlesque show begins at 11:30, followed by more performances between then and 2:30 p.m. New Orleans has a long history with burlesque dancing. Our city was a burlesque hot spot from the 1940s to when clubs were shut down in the 1960s. We hope you enjoy our homage to this historic and beautiful art form. Expectations were properly set. Funky cocktails and delicious small bites. Nice atmosphere. Pleasant staff. A perfect respite to the often crazy French quarter.

We were seated, sat for 15 mins without anyone serving us at all so we got up and left. Drinks at bar were good and bartender was nice. Other than that it was a pretty bad experience

Great food and service. The place is pretty loud for the Burlesque show but not sure where the noise level is for regular service. The food was amazing, duck confit is a must try for the brunch.

Our 38th Anniversary dinner! No recognition of the event except a nice comment by the hostess. Food was okay - just average. House made cracklins were our fav thing. Gumbo was super rich c/o a “real” roux, but had a slightly off taste. The bone - in pork chop was fatty but decent flavor. The pumpkin pie spice in the mashed sweet potatoes overwhelmed the rest of the flavors. The white chocolate cherries jubilee bread pudding was dry.
Overall- average meal with average food and average service. Oh well! But the company was perfect!
The cocktails and food pairing was fantastic
Everything was amazing. We did the bar experience and the bartender gave us good conversation. The chef was awesome, food was great. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves.
Awesome spot and great food. Be advised that they do have a Burlesque show (at least on Sunday’s) and while it was entertaining, it made hosting a business discussion both challenging and funny!
2 of us received our order, the other two did not. The waiter said he forgot to put in the other orders. Barry was a BAD waiter. Then after 30 minutes we were brought the other two orders and we refused it. They brought us the bill minus the 2 missing orders and we paid it and left. We spoke with management, they offered an “ I am sorry”, and that is all. All in all a disappointing experience .

This is by far one of the best date nights I've ever been on. The food was second to none and should be a part of everyone's trip to New Orleans. The drinks were inspired and delicious, the staff was hospitable and kind, and there is an ambience that sets itself apart from the hustle and bustle of the rest of The French Quarter.
While we were pleased to find the greeter checking vaccination cards, our table had not been properly cleaned between seatings (obvious table rings on the surface), a disappointment in a Covid environment. There was a patron at the next table who was loudly swearing repeatedly at his dining companions—not the fault of the restaurant, but it made for an uncomfortable environment. The food, however, which is normally wonderful, was in horribly short supply. The tuna cones appetizer was out, so we had to order an alternative. The server then returned to tell us our dinner entrees were also out. Consequently, we paid for the bottle of wine we had purchased before learning of the food shortage and left to find another dinner location. Utterly disappointing evening.
Disappointed. After visits in the past and seeing reviews we were expecting more. Food was stale - issues with freshness. We returned most of what we ordered after a bite, leaving to find an alternative food for evening.
However- a beautiful place and excellent service.
Great date spot
Had an Open Table reservation for this place made for over a week. Troves on time, was quickly seated at your table and served water. Just 3-4 other occupied tables around us (one rather large party). Sadly after 15-20 we left after never being waited on.
Waiter was very inattentive. We were seated directly by the door with other empty tables available so large groups coming in were basically right next to us. Not at all impressed with the service.
My husband and I enjoyed the food, oyster tacos, chicken sandwich and duck beignets. All were excellent and reasonably priced. The waiter was especially attentive and personable.
The brussel sprouts were amazing. My husband really enjoyed his duck. We got 2 snacks, 1 salad, and one meal, plus 2 glasses of wine and we were shocked at how low everything was. I would definitely go back just for the brussel sprouts
Went on a Wednesday nite, only 5 others in the entire restaurant. My Steak dinner was tough and undercooked, didn't get steak knife to cut it with - waiter was unavailable most of my meal. Other person win party was served a very small cold plate of noodles - I've had better other places.
Truly disappointed, our daughter told us she went there and it was good- really good.
This place was so great. We were there for a pre concert meal and it was perfect. Oyster tacos and brussels sprouts, local beer and a view of the street. Service was super friendly and efficient.
It was my friends and I first time dining at SoBou and it was honestly a great experience! The food was great, we had the crispy oyster tacos as an appetizer and it was way better than what I was expecting. We wanted to try the meat pies but they were sold out already. Definitely coming back another time to try them and sit outside!
We had a blast at SoBou after the Saints game. We had all the share plate/apps and several cocktails and wine. Everything was so good and we had so much fun!
We recently dined at Sobuo during a legs and eggs burlesque brunch performance. Bella Blue, the performance artist, was wonderful. The illuminated wall art installation was amazing. The service and the food were way off the mark. Service was unbelievably slow for no apparent reason. Menu items we selected were fairly unimaginative and plated and presented in a most average way. We have enjoyed dining at Sobuo in the past and hope that we were just there on a bad day.

Love having the chef come out to the table and if there wasn't something we like the chef was ready to redo the plate. Drinks we good. Waiter was good with the drinks. Both him and the chef made the dinner experience amazing. Definitely will be returning.

Very different and I'm an adventurer but was not font of the food.
Our server was very nice, however their lunch menu is really condensed and small. As a vegetarian there was only one thing on the menu that I could get. Also got a drink and didn’t really like it, it was a bit unbalanced. Overall nice, but probably a better spot for dinner.

Erica took great care of us & helped find vegan options. The food was amazing! The greens in the stuffed acorn squash were touched with vinegar & complimented the sweet squash perfectly. Farro was firm but tender. The redfish filets were tender inside but crispy on the outside. The veggies (asparagus, potato, and merliton) were flavorful. Wonderful atmosphere although a little loud.

No AC. Sent food back to the kitchen. Cocktails were terrible. The water was okay…. The waiters, host, servers, manager, etc. all of the staff was slow, inattentive and messy. I can’t believe the W hotel allows this restaurant to operate. The Olive Garden may be a better dining experience.
Fun spot. Good for small plates and appetizers.

Decent chicken sandwich but I was hoping for more in the way of seafood or at least poboy sandwiches for a light late dinner. Chicken was very crispy and not overly seasoned. Cagin Fries needed more seasoning. Waitress was attentive and apologized the bar tender did not listen to her instructions about just a few drops of vermouth. It was still a good martini, just not great.
Past its prime. Wait staff inexperienced. Not a fine dining experience anymore.
The worst ever!!! I will say I have been here before and it was good but this time….. 2 hours in to dinner I say dinner but there was actually no food it never came. Couldn’t get drinks I had to open my own wine both and go get an ice bucket for it at the bar myself… at 2.5 hours we just got up and left… there is no qualified staff or management… 2 bad use to a nice place
