Great food, great service. The ambiance is very cool. The only issue we had was that the room was too cold. We must have been under a vent, but we complained and it warmed up slightly. I can’t enjoy a meal when I’m cold.
Great service, food was good- Burlesque Brunch show was beautiful. My only complaint was the cold draft from the ventilation system - which they tried to correct when asked. Thank you for a great experience!
Had breakfast for 4, service attentive. Attention to little details of orders could have been better. Overall recommend, clean and modern for french quarter.
My favorite meal in New Orleans. Wonderful bar,too
Neighborhood gem for great food and creative signature cocktails. Bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly helpful. Great service all around. Food is very creative and wonderfully presented.
Excellent brunch entertainment with Bella Blue and Jazz Quartet! Great food, great drinks!! Service was prompt, kind, and informative. Would go back over and over again!
Very nice. Great food and service
I been to SoBou two or three times and have always enjoyed. However, Monday nights dinner was horrible. The place was empty but it took forever to get drinks, our orders in and our food. I asked you a wine list and it never came. The server was nice but not very friendly or helpful. The food was average at best. It is safe to say, I won't be back.
Food was very good. Service was terrible. We should have listened to other reviews.
It was clearly our waitress - she was non-existent. She would appear, and then disappear for 30+ minutes each time. We only ordered appetizers and main entrees. No way were we waiting around to order dessert. Such a shame. It wasn't even busy - we got there at 6:15 pm!
But even upon entering the restaurant, there was no front manager waiting to seat us. We had to wait about 10 minutes for someone to show up at the front of the restaurant. I even wandered into the bar area looking for someone yet couldn't find anyone that could help us.
Live music and burlesque! Pretty cool, but didn’t know the burlesque show was happening until I looked up and it was over! Maybe an announcement as I would’ve loved to watch the artistry. Food was delicious! There is foie gras in the beignet icing?!?! Delicious! I probably didn’t need to know, though.
The decor is minimalist and a bit cold-feeling for New Orleans. The service was friendly and generally attentive but my food came out slowly, even though the restaurant was only half full. (It is the W Hotel restaurant, so perhaps the kitchen was dealing with room service orders.) The Ahi tuna main course I had was excellent, a superb dish, and the waitress helped me to get a plain salad for a second course to address my dietary needs, which I appreciated. The rum cocktail, which was pricey, was mediocre. I gave that feedback to the waitress (it was not a complaint - she asked how I liked the cocktail and I told her) and without prompting, she removed it from the check, which I appreciated. In general, I was not impressed by the cocktail menu - the drinks seemed mannered and designed to look cool on the page without actually tasting great, and I would not go to this restaurant just for cocktails. The food was excellent, however, and I would eat here again - I just wouldn't order a cocktail.
The burlesque show was amazing and Bella Blue is awesome, but the service is the worst I've ever experienced in New Orleans. Our drinks weren't refilled a single time and we almost never saw our server. But the worst issue we encountered was our server and management's handling of a food allergy issue. I have celiac disease and I ordered a frittata, but when it arrived I saw that it was in some kind of sauce. I would never send back food I ordered just because I accidentally ordered something unsafe for me to eat, but I asked our server if the sauce had flour in it so I could just not eat it if necessary. Our server and then the manager insisted that the sauce was just melted cheese. They did not even pretend to go ask the kitchen-- they just looked at the menu. The sauce on the plate was not melted cheese, it stayed liquid even when the plate was cold and it in no way tasted like cheese. And even if it was gluten free, I did not feel comfortable eating it when the server and manager clearly didn't bother to even check with the kitchen. To be clear, I ordered the frittata before checking. If after checking with the server, they would have said it had gluten, I would have happily paid for it and just not eaten it. It would not be the server's fault if I ordered something I couldn't eat. However, I would expect the server to at least pretend to care when i asked about a potential allergen. Then, at the end of our meal, we were charged five dollars more than the menu price for one of our items. When I'm already paying over thirty dollars for a frittata I had to leave on the plate, it's unacceptable to be overcharged and not receive an apology.
Even though we love Bella and the restaurant is beautiful, there is no way I would ever eat at SoBou again.
Don’t bother with dessert! We tried all three and none were good! We enjoyed everything else
Great meal!! Corn and crab bisque was the best I’ve had!!
It was amazing. Toi is an outstanding Waitress!
We were greeted at the door and told that while dinner service hadn’t started we could get a happy hour drink at the bar. We enjoyed a cocktail and then were seated. Our server, Brandy was awesome. She made the entire experience so much fun. We had the 3 course dinner, crab bisque, surf and turf tacos and the bread pudding lollipop. Everything was delicious but the oyster tacos were my favorite. We loved the signature cocktails and the fresh take on an old fashioned invented by Brandy. What a fun evening!
If you go for the food, you will not be disappointed. Everything was delicious. However, the service is always terrible. I will not go back because I can’t justify paying $80 for a meal with service that poor no matter how good the food was.
Waitress Kori was really polite and attentive. Loved the ambiance of this spot. Definitely going back! Surf and turf was amazing!!
We were really looking forward to this meal but unfortunately it was very disappointing. Our server was overwhelmed because he had a large party he was taking care of and no one else seemed to want to help him. Management finally realized the problem, apologized and bought us a drink but the mistakes just kept coming. They never were able to get it together and the food was okay but not great.
Very loud. Way too loud to converse during dinner.
This is NOT the same place from when it opened. Not a salad on the menu, nor any light entrees. We aren’t going back.
This is nice break from the traditional New Orleans menu fare.
I wanted to try this restaurant out since it took the place of one of my previous favorites, Bacco. Booked on Open table with a reserved credit card only to be greeting by no host for over 10 minutes after being on time. After being seated, we waited for over 20 minutes to have a waitress take our drink order. Then another 10 or so minutes to get 1/2 our drink order. Our waitress was rude and snapped at each one of us. I have never been talked to like this. The food was pretty good, except for a piece of bread tasting like it had been dipped in cleaning fluid. We spoke with the manager and he of course apologized and comped our meal. This was an overall disappointing dinner with friends that I was hosting in New Orleans. Needless to say, I won’t be back and hope that management corrects their mistakes. Shame.
Great food! Show up for burlesque brunch!! Ask for Nene!
Wonderful Sunday brunch. We love the Bella blue entertainment!
This was the best experience I had In New Orleans. Legs, eggs and amazing food! Ohhh Bella!
The look of the restaurant is very deceiving- the front of the restaurant is very modern and trendy looking. A nice place you’d want to have a nice dinner at. There are a few open tables. They keep a few of these tables open to display availability and only seat a few people there. Then there is the back room of terror. Noisy, Loud, and uncomfortable. When the waiter arrived we couldn’t even hear what he was saying. He had to keep repeating himself and even apologized for how loud it is at the restaurant. You can hear every tables conversation, all at once! Not what were expecting when we reserved this place for a quite dinner. 2 thumbs down for SoBou. So disappointed because we really wanted to like it here.
The seared tuna and corn and crab bisque were amazing!
Great food and ambiance
Fried oyster tacos were delicious and the freshly cooked pork skins were incredible!
Great food and atmosphere. The drinks were on set!
In town for collage football playoff.
Really enjoyed our dinner at sobou.
Went for the “Legs & Eggs” burlesque brunch. Bella Blue was very tasteful and entertaining. Food was excellent. Would definitely go back when in town.
Fish a little fishy
Our server was awful. Had to find her twice and the place was empty. Went early because we had a tour scheduled at 7. Got to restaurant at 445 thinking we had plenty of time. Barely made it. Food was great though.
Hello, thank you for sending us your honest review. We will send this to the management team so the issues may be addressed with service. We are glad you enjoyed the food. Have a great day!
Girls Trip 2020 in the books. Had a blast at Burlesque Brunch...Bella Blue and band were great. Berry our server was exceptional and very informative. We will definitely return.
Absolutely amazing in every way. We went to several highly rated restaurants while we were in town and this was our favorite.
We arrived early to our lunch reservation. The stand-in host was hardly invested. Forgave him b/c he was a manager filling-in. The hostess went out of her way to speak to is when she returned from her break. Our waiter left a lot to be desired. He was hardly available to us. He was in a hurry from start to finish, lacked answers to basic ingredient questions, was forgetful and too busy (we were his only table) talking with co-workers, cleaning tables and prepping for prospective service, to serve us. The appetizer and salad were good but the service was so poor we did not order entrees and left to dine elsewhere.
Hello, thank you for sending us this honest review. We will send these comments to management immediately and deeply apologize for the lack in service you experienced.
Enjoyed an early lunch and everything was terrific. We were met with a warm greeting and comfortable decor. Our server, Nene, took good care of us. The seafood gumbo, oyster tacos and pork belly banh mi po'boy were all delicious. 25¢ lunch martinis (5 varieties) were an added bonus.
Thank you for the wonderful review!
They only had an appetizer menu when I was there. New Year’s Eve. Pretty disappointed on that because I had to order several things. Otherwise good.
