We had a wonderful lunch here. The food was very good and the 25 cent martinis were great. The service was excellent and our waitress was very attentive. She recommended the chocolate cheesecake and it was both beautifully presented and delicious. We will definitely return on our next visit to New Orleans.
Food and cocktails were great! They don’t have a kids menu but they made my son chicken fingers which was awesome.
Nini was our server and she was amazing and attentive. She was the only positive part of our experience. We had reservations and when we arrived to a mostly empty restaurant, we were seated in the bar where we had to shout at one another to be heard. This was our second visit to Sobou and we were expecting quality, however the food was flavorless and disappointing this time. We won’t be returning.
Awesome, great-tasting, unique menu. Wonderful service (Brandy was our waitress). The whole fish is a must have!
Enjoyed the meal. Would prefer a more diverse brunch menu however, especially if you’re required an appetizer.
Always a must for brunch! Bella Blye’s eggs & legs is such a fun thing to do with out of town friends
We went for the eggs and legs brunch this past Sunday. It was great having the live band and performer to accompany our bottomless bellinis :) food was great! Richard was our server and made the experience awesome. Would definitely recommend!
The food was fabulous. My omelette was soo good. Very luscious. My husband has an omelette and grits and our son had steak and eggs. All of our food was great. Our service was good until it came time to ring us out. We needed two checks and the first time, one of our checks was for the table next to us, the second check was for two different meals and finally on the third time after my credit card had been charged twice, our checks were finally right.
The food was great the ambience was wonderful but the service was just not what I expected. The Waitress was nice but knew nothing about the menu and no one was in the restaurant it just took her for ever to wait on us.
Booked with saying it was my anniversary and nothing was mentioned. No one at the front either when we walked in overall not great
The servers were very accommodating on a very busy Mardi Gras day. We had a great late lunch celebration, thanks to everyone. We will definitely be back.
Service was terrible. It took the group 3 hours to complete our lunch. Our gumbo took 45 minutes to come out. I could understand this if they were crowded but there was only one other table taken in the entire restaurant.
Interior decor is very beautiful. Employees are very attentive. I ordered the cajun gumbo, it was pretty good. But for that specific dish, the portion was quite small. Overall, I would recommend.
One of the tour guides in the morning recommended us this restaurant , and we were not disappointed, we tried the sample menu and everything was so delicious!!
Server seemed high. Silverware was dirty. Food was good. Place was empty but the noise level was very loud but it was expected as it was Mardi Gras Would have expected a more attentive waiter since the place seemed empty. Table did not have same set up as other tables. Just a bad experience from prior visits.
The ambiance makes it feel very high class and the food was absolutely melt in your mouth! Loved the burlesque brunch with Bella Blue!
Erica, my server, was awesome. I am Gluten intolerant, and she “totally got it”! The food was amazing and it was a badly needed “grown up time” away from (but convenient to!) Bourbon Street craziness.
If you haven’t been to the Sat/Sun Leggs and Eggs Burlesque, mark it in your calendars! A neat experience.
This good food was creative and spectacular. I’ll make SoBou a stop for all of my New Orleans visits!
Enjoyed my 27th birthday dinner. Darius was my server, did a great job. Drinks took a while but expected during Mardi Gras weekend but food came out at a decent time.
Can’t say enough nice things about our waitress. Made our experience so memorable.
Was supposed to be a burlesque brunch. While the woman was super nice and her performance was good, she was barely there. Danced for what seemed to be 15 mins, changed her clothes which took forever and danced for another very short period of time. Not what we thought or would have paid that kind of money for. It definitely was not a burlesque show.
Let me start off by saying I was really excited to attend the Legs and Eggs Brunch. The reviews I had read sounded like it would be alot of fun. Being in town for Mardi Gras we were definitely in store for lots of fun. The performer was okay, however it seemed like she favored 2 tables and it didn't help that the waitress was taking our order during her act. I guess I expected it would be more of an upbeat and ongoing performance. There was only one dancer and she was a little underwhelming. She did come over to our table at one point, but only so that she could tell us about the tip envelope. The menu was very limited and a bit overpriced. We arrived at 11 and were seated immediately and the staff were very nice. Overall I feel like I may have been there on an off day. The other reviews are consistently good. I would give it one more try.
Enjoyed the food and Service
Great food, great service. The ambiance is very cool. The only issue we had was that the room was too cold. We must have been under a vent, but we complained and it warmed up slightly. I can’t enjoy a meal when I’m cold.
Great service, food was good- Burlesque Brunch show was beautiful. My only complaint was the cold draft from the ventilation system - which they tried to correct when asked. Thank you for a great experience!
Had breakfast for 4, service attentive. Attention to little details of orders could have been better. Overall recommend, clean and modern for french quarter.
The food here was subpar. Hard to describe but most of the food just didn’t fit. I understand the concept, but we found our dishes to be undercooked (mushrooms) or overcooked (weird over salted fajita plate). There are too many good restaurants in NOLA. This one needs a complete overhaul.
My favorite meal in New Orleans. Wonderful bar,too
Neighborhood gem for great food and creative signature cocktails. Bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly helpful. Great service all around. Food is very creative and wonderfully presented.
Excellent brunch entertainment with Bella Blue and Jazz Quartet! Great food, great drinks!! Service was prompt, kind, and informative. Would go back over and over again!
Very nice. Great food and service
I been to SoBou two or three times and have always enjoyed. However, Monday nights dinner was horrible. The place was empty but it took forever to get drinks, our orders in and our food. I asked you a wine list and it never came. The server was nice but not very friendly or helpful. The food was average at best. It is safe to say, I won't be back.
Food was very good. Service was terrible. We should have listened to other reviews.
It was clearly our waitress - she was non-existent. She would appear, and then disappear for 30+ minutes each time. We only ordered appetizers and main entrees. No way were we waiting around to order dessert. Such a shame. It wasn't even busy - we got there at 6:15 pm!
But even upon entering the restaurant, there was no front manager waiting to seat us. We had to wait about 10 minutes for someone to show up at the front of the restaurant. I even wandered into the bar area looking for someone yet couldn't find anyone that could help us.
Live music and burlesque! Pretty cool, but didn’t know the burlesque show was happening until I looked up and it was over! Maybe an announcement as I would’ve loved to watch the artistry. Food was delicious! There is foie gras in the beignet icing?!?! Delicious! I probably didn’t need to know, though.
The decor is minimalist and a bit cold-feeling for New Orleans. The service was friendly and generally attentive but my food came out slowly, even though the restaurant was only half full. (It is the W Hotel restaurant, so perhaps the kitchen was dealing with room service orders.) The Ahi tuna main course I had was excellent, a superb dish, and the waitress helped me to get a plain salad for a second course to address my dietary needs, which I appreciated. The rum cocktail, which was pricey, was mediocre. I gave that feedback to the waitress (it was not a complaint - she asked how I liked the cocktail and I told her) and without prompting, she removed it from the check, which I appreciated. In general, I was not impressed by the cocktail menu - the drinks seemed mannered and designed to look cool on the page without actually tasting great, and I would not go to this restaurant just for cocktails. The food was excellent, however, and I would eat here again - I just wouldn't order a cocktail.
The burlesque show was amazing and Bella Blue is awesome, but the service is the worst I've ever experienced in New Orleans. Our drinks weren't refilled a single time and we almost never saw our server. But the worst issue we encountered was our server and management's handling of a food allergy issue. I have celiac disease and I ordered a frittata, but when it arrived I saw that it was in some kind of sauce. I would never send back food I ordered just because I accidentally ordered something unsafe for me to eat, but I asked our server if the sauce had flour in it so I could just not eat it if necessary. Our server and then the manager insisted that the sauce was just melted cheese. They did not even pretend to go ask the kitchen-- they just looked at the menu. The sauce on the plate was not melted cheese, it stayed liquid even when the plate was cold and it in no way tasted like cheese. And even if it was gluten free, I did not feel comfortable eating it when the server and manager clearly didn't bother to even check with the kitchen. To be clear, I ordered the frittata before checking. If after checking with the server, they would have said it had gluten, I would have happily paid for it and just not eaten it. It would not be the server's fault if I ordered something I couldn't eat. However, I would expect the server to at least pretend to care when i asked about a potential allergen. Then, at the end of our meal, we were charged five dollars more than the menu price for one of our items. When I'm already paying over thirty dollars for a frittata I had to leave on the plate, it's unacceptable to be overcharged and not receive an apology.
Even though we love Bella and the restaurant is beautiful, there is no way I would ever eat at SoBou again.
Don’t bother with dessert! We tried all three and none were good! We enjoyed everything else
Great meal!! Corn and crab bisque was the best I’ve had!!
It was amazing. Toi is an outstanding Waitress!
We were greeted at the door and told that while dinner service hadn’t started we could get a happy hour drink at the bar. We enjoyed a cocktail and then were seated. Our server, Brandy was awesome. She made the entire experience so much fun. We had the 3 course dinner, crab bisque, surf and turf tacos and the bread pudding lollipop. Everything was delicious but the oyster tacos were my favorite. We loved the signature cocktails and the fresh take on an old fashioned invented by Brandy. What a fun evening!
