    I had requested a sea view table when making the reservation, but unfortunately was not seated at one, even though there were some empty tables available. That was a bit disappointing. That said, the food was overall good and enjoyable.

    The food was passable. Our waiter was friendly enough but rarely checked on our table. The servers did not seem to know table numbers and wandered around with our food before arriving at our table; and when they did find us, simply put the food on the table and left, leaving us to organize the dishes ourselves. For the prices charged, the food quality was barely passable and the service terrible. I would not recommend this restaurant

    It is one of my favorite restaurant in the bay, the food fabulous, and the service perfect, eve though was busy 2 waitress was coming often to see if we need something else during the whole dinner.

    Fantastic dinner at Skates, thank you! My nephew got accepted to UC Berkeley and I requested a window seat, my family was amazed by beautiful view, thank you for a magical night!

    Having booked for the ambience and view, the food was better than i remembered. The staff was friendly but device not on point and it was a bit overpriced. But given the view, ease of getting g last minute reservations and quality of food i still highly recommend

    We had a very nice lunch with wonderful cocktails and decent food. The service was amazing and you can't beat the views! But the interior is in need of a redo. Even new paint to break up all the tired looking gray would help.

    Overall Skates was okay. The clam chowder was good. Sushi was basic nothing special. Food was really basic. I can't say it was worth the price. First experience wasn't enough to bring me back. Service staff was excellent very attentive.

    Awful service. Couldn't believe how incompetent server was. Food was nowhere near a higher end seafood experience. Great for the view and kids at prom. Nothing more.
