First class food and service
Excellent experience for me and my guest. I couldn’t be more pleased!
Incredibly overpriced. The wine list is an insult.
Every aspect was fantastic! The quality, preparation and flavor of the food was superb. This was a special dining experience. Service prompt, knowledgeable and considerate.
Excellent service, deliciously created dishes and beautiful dining space.
Received an outdoor table although a standard table had been reserved.
We were told it was because one of us was wearing shorts, but this information had not been previously given.
Soon after we were seated outside a person wearing shorts was admitted inside
There were mices running around the place.
You’d be hard pressed to find a better spot to enjoy a proper Italian meal in the shadow of The Met, on a gorgeous Upper East Side block.
Absolutely perfect from the service to the food. We were there for a birthday lunch. There was a bridal shower in the next room so things were maybe a little noisier than usual. The service was gracious and warm not impersonal. The food was perfect from the cold corn chowder, raw seafood appetizer, the ragu pasta, mixed grilled fish. Even the breadsticks were delicious. The chocolate soufflé just because but who has room? Plus a delicious Prosecco. We ate indoors (take that covid!). The tables were nicely spaced. Outside looks great for less rainy humid days. This is a real treat. And after a year of pandemic craziness, just the best way to celebrate a new year.
This was a return visit for us, having last dined at Sistina in 2019. As we did the first time, we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch on this date. We had the same server, Giabanni, and he took good care of us. Sistina is a very special place. The bar, which we passed on our way to the dining area, is quite stunning. The dining area is very comfortable (complete with throw pillows on the booth side of each seating area). The menu is creative and the food is perfectly prepared. The martinis here are poured cold and steep. For an appetizer, we shared crispy artichokes, which were delicious and also visually very arresting. For entrees, we each had the crab and mushroom fettucine. Really good stuff. The bread basket is served with a series of flavored butters. We even had dessert, which is unusual for us. We were served a spread of profiteroles and mini-pastries. Very decadent and very good. I highly recommend Sistina, a fine restaurant we'll return to often.
Sistina is a favorite of mine for outstanding cuisine! The ingredients are fresh and authentically Italian. It reminds me of days in the sun in Italia. The wait staff is attentive but not hovering
Have eaten here before. Terrific in every way on each occasion. Have only dined outside, but the outside arrangement is as nice as it could be, w beautiful plantings. Great food. Excellent service. Chic crowd. Will return.
Service was impeccable, while being warm and friendly. The staff, from greeters to busboys, seemed dedicated to making guests feel welcome and important. They were all unusually attentive. The restaurant is beautiful and very comfortable. The food was good and fresh, though not as memorable as the service and ambiance. The prices are high, but dining at Sistina's is a lovely experience!
The service was fantastic. The wine list was beautiful. The fried zucchini is the best in the world. The salad was very good. The prices were high, but it is New York.
But the noise? Unbearable. I would recommend Sistina for the food, wine and service, but it was hard to think in such a loud room.
The best Italian restaurant in the city! Amazing food excellent open wine choices. Extensive and unique daily dishes, I wish I could have tried them all. Superb service. I highly recommend this restaurant!
What an elegant place - definitely going back to this restaurant! Loved everything about this place!
So happy to be back to NYC and dining at our favorite Italian restaurant. As always, everything was 5 stars. Life is good.
We love the ambience of this restaurant and the food is very good. The service is exceptional.
Lunch here is always special. Food and service are very good. Nice wines by the glass as well.
Good food ( I had the vitello tonato and the tartufo Sistina and enjoyed both). Excellent selection of wines by the glass. The service was competent and pleasant and very welcoming. Lovely atmosphere outside. Will be back
Great food and ambiance. Good service. The fish with figs was super special. The house is beautiful and the ambiance is extraordinary.
Such a beautiful restaurant with truly heavenly high-end Italian food! Classic chic UES ambiance!
Menu is so extensive (also with daily specials for seasonal items) that it is difficult to choose. But the chocolate souffle (also gluten free!) is the best one in the world.
This restaurant apparently has been around for quite a while but was unknown to us as we are visitors to NYC. A new favorite!!!
Sistina was amazing! The food was delicious, the service was great, and we had an awesome time. Definitely recommend!
A favorite of mine and friends, the food is delectable and graciously served. Yesterday I had beautifully prepared soft-shell crabs.
Very impressive. Food quality was superb and service was excellent. A bit pricey but worth it for a special occasion
Food was delicious as usual. Service was slow and the host was not welcoming.
The ambience of the house is really wonderful. If complimented with good service it would be my most favorite restaurant in NYC
Fabulous ambiance and service… and the food was even better!! An absolute must. Looking forward to our next special eve Iyar SISTINA!!!
my favorite neighborhood restaurant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was great! One of our favorite restaurants in Manhattan
Our favorite NY restaurant. We always go back and have never been disappointed.
Great service and food.
Sistina is a very special fine dining Italian restaurant and never disappoints!
We were two couples- celebrating our child's 40th birthday with her beau.
They are more adventurous in their celebration selections- octopus and white/green asparagus appetizers, for example. My husband chose avocado soup with crab meat and I had an herb encrusted artichoke dish. Main courses: halibut, crab legs (large!), tomahawk-sized veal chop, and superb gnocchi! Dessert: cappuccino, mousse au chocolat for two, passion fruit, and blood orange sorbet with the birthday girl selecting pannacotta. Glorious!
A very pleasant restaurant with well-executed dishes.
Fabulous experience! Blown away by the food, service, and incredible wine list! Can't wait to return!
None of the staff were wearing a mask.
Even though their web site requires guest to come in with mask and temperature will be taken upon arrival, there was a total lack of respect to these Covid measures.
We wrote to the restaurant regarding these bad practices and their answered aggressively and disrespectful
Service is very colorful and the staff is warm and inviting. They have 4 (!) kinds of butter, their oysters were pretty good, and their 3 pastas we tried were excellent. Decor is one of the most beautiful settings, especially the bar, and I would pick this mostly for a romantic occasion.
I’ve been here before and had sublime food, but this visit was very disappointing. My oysters weren’t cold, and my entree came with over cooked vegetables, soft and mushy. I had ordered the very same dish before and it was perfection, so I know the cook knows how to make this dish properly. Our entrees were delivered before we had finished our appetizers and the whole evening seemed rushed, with uninformed staff that all seemed as if they had been out too late the night before. We don’t have a lot of wonderful restaurants on the UES, so I hope my next visit will improve drastically or I’ll have to find another haunt. Which would be too bad.
Best Italian food on the upper east side.. Caravaggio (same owner) is just as good..
Beautiful dinner with the family
Food was delicious and many many items to choose from
Service was terrific
Expensive for a regular dinner out
Excellent food. Superior service. Expansive wine list. Highly recommended.
