Atmosphere, service, and food was outstanding. Overall a fantastic experience
Truly a remarkable experience. We dine often in our line of work but Sistina was easily to finest meal we've had all year. I can't speak highly enough of the food, service ,and overall hospitality. We'll be talking about this evening for a long time to come. Thank you!!!
Splendid. Just a delicious evening in a lovely and gorgeous atmosphere.
Excellent food in a very elegant setting. Very pleasant staff who do a nice job taking care of you.
Very pleasant place for dinner during the week or for lunch on weekends.
Atmosphere fantastic. Best food in New York, and best owner.
You will not be disappointed.
The food, the ambiance and charm of the restaurant was all perfect. The food was a standout. The service was among the worst I’ve had in a long time. And for a $400 lunch, it was appalling. Menu’s given, 5 minutes later we were asked to place our order, we wanted drinks, had to ask for the wine list. Again asked to place order, again said we wanted to wait to order drinks. Left for at least 15 minutes and had to flag a waiter to place drink order, one of our party ordered a non alcoholic beverage. Brought immediately. Another 15 minutes again had to flag down waiter for our bottle- finally brought. Lunch order placed. Had to ask repeatedly for refills from our bottle. Waiters were unpleasant, surly, annoyed and inattentive. The restaurant was not full and there was a lot of staff. They were just indifferent. I tipped as if we had good service but they certainly did not earn it.
This place was amazing and so was the food! We had the pasta dishes and it was some of the best pasta I’ve had! I would go back in Sistina one and millions times we had fresh homemade pasta with trouffels ii was delicious, the service was impeccable friendly and very attended . You should make reservations before going because this place is always very busy I recommend this place one of the best Italian places in the world
Amazing dinner. Special treat was the fettuccini with white truffle! Very generous portion of white truffle. Husband has veal scallopini and I had the John Dory. Everything was delicious. Wine list was incredible. We will definitely return next year!
Excellent food quality and service
The branzino was exquisito
My husband took me to Sistina for my birthday. It was our first time dining at Sistina but will not be our last. It was wonderful. Beautiful ambience, attentive service and delicious food.
Our favorite place in the city !!!
We had such a memorable experience here at Sistina. The food was absolutely delicious...from the bread basket to the desserts where fabulous ...every single dish! We didn't want to leave a single morsel on the plate. It was our engagement and we truly felt celebrated and special. The pacing of the meal was good, we never felt rushed. All of the staff was so friendly; no stuffiness here, just genuine friendliness and happiness. Totally recommend it.
Wonderful food in a refined but warm and welcoming environment. Great for a meal with a new or old friend. This was my first dinner at Sistina although I had been there previously for lunch. We arrived early (5:30 pm) for Sunday dinner. We were seated immediately. The restaurant was empty when we arrived and we had hours to chat quietly. Unfortunately, by the time we were leaving several hours later, the place had become crowded and so loud, we could barely hear each other. Perhaps this neighborhood gem is becoming a victim of its success. Although I'm not sure of his title and I apologize in advance if he was the owner or manager, the fellow I'll describe as the head waiter (suit and tie standing among the tables) was highly professional and did a great job with the lengthy and detailed list of specials. You could sense he loved food from his description of each dish and his pride in the beautiful white truffles he brought to the table to show us. The server who took over our table, although pleasant, wasn't quite as attentive to detail. If I had to guess, she had waitressed elsewhere but never in a place of Sistina's caliber.
Wonderful from start to finish. Inventive menu skillfully executed. Staff was exceptional, friendly yet professional. Highly recommend Sistina.
We traveled to New York for Thanksgiving week from San Diego, and Sistina was the first restaurant on our list. The ambiance was quaint, beautiful and felt like upscale New York. The service was impeccable and the food was superb. The wait staff was very attentive and made terrific suggestions on and off the menu. Had we had more time in New York we would have eaten at Sistina again. Next trip for sure. The food and overall experience was fantastic and created such a memorable experience for our family.
Sistina used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but since they moved to the new location, the food quality has decreased and the friendly ambiance is gone, perhaps because Giuseppe seems so unhappy and less actively involved.
The serving staff where top notch and personable Specially
Giovanni.I truly appreciate that they were very attentive and observant.
Since this restaurant just won wine spectator award for 2018 I let the server recommend/ choose my wine selections to go with my dishes. He was phenomenal. His choice was delicious. He Ofer is a bottle of white Bordeaux we ending having two bottles.
I had tuna tartare for appetizer and fettuccine with white truffle for main course all was delicious. Definitely Sistina is a great place to have a good authentic Italian food, highly recommended
we feel truly welcomed by the host, and by the staff. The staff is knowledgeable about the food and can make recommendations. On Monday we celebrated with a group of friends in the beautiful garden area. Each of us ordered different entrees ranging from pasta to seafood to the veal chop to the special of the day and each of us loved our dish! The salads are delicious and we really enjoyed the artichoke dish. We have been coming to Sistina for Two years and the food, service, and ambience is always wonderful. We bring friends, family, and folks visiting from out of town and each time, people love this restaurant.
Even though Sistina (before it moved) was a known destination when we lived in NYC, we had never visited. While making a work/birthday getaway trip back to our old home, we met with friends who requested, "let's go somewhere different." Having known this couple for years, I was quite sure they did not mean a new, ultra-trendy spot trying to make a splash. The food was wonderful all around that table, the wine selection lived up to their reputation, and the service was attentive.
Most notably, they were very polite when we arrived a bit late for our reservation even after I had called earlier to request an additional spot at the table. First class.
I eat at Sistina and the food and service is Simply amazing
Wonderful brunch spot. Terrific ambiance and friendly service. The penne was a bit too spicy but (my fault!) i didn’t read the description closely. A experience
Late lunch in a quiet dining room, excellent food and service.
Went the Sistina with a group of six ranging in age from 20-69 and everyone was happy with all of the dishes they selected. We were all very impressed with the food as well as the service. Well worth it.
Beautiful room filled with regulars. Creative menu with lots of specials. Wine list is huge but offer few bottles below $100. Salad served was watery and pasta was sticky. An off night.
Sistina was sophisticated yet relaxed. The food was very good. My gnocchi were delicious and generously portioned. The specials sounded very good too. The highlight was my decaf cappuccino- hard to say why but it was a good old fashioned cup of coffee that rounded off the meal to perfection.
The waiter was nice and some food good some not edible because too bitter (eggplant Parmesan).
The worst worst experience of our visit there was the Maitre'D who ruined each part of our meal AND DID THE UNTHINKABLY WRONG AND DAMAGING THING TO MY 95 year old father who was there in a wheelchair.
He had seated us in the dark and cold and empty front room with h my dad facing a wall. When I asked if we could move o the pretty back room with a beautiful view of the courtyard he yelled at me that our table was fine, there are no seats in the other room (it was over half empty) and was stubborn and nasty until a waiter offered us a lovely table.
WHEN WE LEFT MY DAD's AIDE CAME BACK TO HELP DAD DOWN THE STEEP BROWNSTONE STEPS BUT THIS MAST MAITRE'D kept pulling the wheelchair from her and insisted doing it. We pleaded with him to let my father's aide of 10 years to do what she knew how to do and he refused. He took him halfway then he lost his stepping and fell, letting go of the wheelchair until my dad fell backwards with his wheelchair on top of him. We KNEW this guy did not know what he was doing and our lunch turned into an ambulance ride to the hospital and CTScans and fear that his head was damaged. He had already suffered 2 falls and were it not for this nasty man's impertinence and stubbornness and lack of respect this never would have happened.
DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU WANT TO BE TREATED WITH KINDNESS AND RESPECT
Superbly prepared, tasty preparations of classic Italian dishes with a variety of specials to entice any foodie even vegetarians.
A lovely evening with great food, great ambiance and service. Will definitely return.
A NYC gem. Fine dinning at it's best. One of our favorite NYC restaurant. Exceptional Ambiance, service and cuisine
Had an amazing time at Sistina for mother’s birthday. The food was second to none and the service was amazing. Our server Cihangir was phenomenal and spared no detail in helping us throughout the meal.
Very upscale and fancy restaurant one block away from the Met. The food and service were amazing, and definitely not cheap. The desserts were fabulous. I wouldn't recommend the cocktails.
Great restaurant located in upper east side . Went there with my husband and we really enjoyed our lunch . Best food ever ! Great and attentive service. I would highly recommend this place if you wanna eat real Italian food
This was a surprise as we expected it to be good, but instead it was great! The only negative is the noise level. It is hard to have a conversation when the place is full. Otherwise some of the best food I have ever eaten and great wine list and som.
Delicious! Delightful Romantic!
A must for any special occasion with an authentic, sophisticated European flair!!
I loved the food and the service. The restaurant is beautiful. I loved the wine also. I can’t wait to go vack
It was awful!!!! We walked in. Some old guy guy told some woman to Tell us they are closed. Then she said that they did not have us on her screen. I replied and show'd her our reservation. As we walked out. I looked and tapped the screen. She lied!!!! We left. I called her to ask her to cancel our reservation and she lied again. I told her she was a liar and finally told the truth. She said she did.
The service and food were exceptional! We will keep this restaurant in mind for our next NY trip very friendly authentic italian restaurant
Absolutely outstanding. Food is great and was only eclipsed by the amazing wine list and the impeccable service. Best Italian food I have had in a long time. Best wine list in New York (especially for Italian selections).
I was looking for a restaurant in the vicinity of The Met for lunch with my college buddy. It had to offer great food, provide a sophisticated yet warm and welcoming atmosphere and be quiet enough to permit us to catch up. Sistina was the right choice. Everything on Sistina's menu was tempting and the extensive list of specials were even more mouthwatering. Each person in our party of four ("foodies" all) raved about the food. The service was EXCELLENT. Our server John was upbeat, professional but friendly, appropriately attentive and truly enhanced our lunch experience. We were seated toward the back of the restaurant where the afternoon sunshine shone through the glass ceiling and brightened our moods as well as the room. Our meal was $260 for the four of us (no wine or alcohol) which I believe is a great value for the quality of the food, the service, the ambiance and the neighborhood. I have every intention of bringing my 86 year old "Italian" mother to Sistina for a meal because she may finally find something to eat that she can't make better herself at home.
