Great service and food.
Sistina is a very special fine dining Italian restaurant and never disappoints!
We were two couples- celebrating our child's 40th birthday with her beau.
They are more adventurous in their celebration selections- octopus and white/green asparagus appetizers, for example. My husband chose avocado soup with crab meat and I had an herb encrusted artichoke dish. Main courses: halibut, crab legs (large!), tomahawk-sized veal chop, and superb gnocchi! Dessert: cappuccino, mousse au chocolat for two, passion fruit, and blood orange sorbet with the birthday girl selecting pannacotta. Glorious!
A very pleasant restaurant with well-executed dishes.
Fabulous experience! Blown away by the food, service, and incredible wine list! Can't wait to return!
None of the staff were wearing a mask.
Even though their web site requires guest to come in with mask and temperature will be taken upon arrival, there was a total lack of respect to these Covid measures.
We wrote to the restaurant regarding these bad practices and their answered aggressively and disrespectful
Service is very colorful and the staff is warm and inviting. They have 4 (!) kinds of butter, their oysters were pretty good, and their 3 pastas we tried were excellent. Decor is one of the most beautiful settings, especially the bar, and I would pick this mostly for a romantic occasion.
I’ve been here before and had sublime food, but this visit was very disappointing. My oysters weren’t cold, and my entree came with over cooked vegetables, soft and mushy. I had ordered the very same dish before and it was perfection, so I know the cook knows how to make this dish properly. Our entrees were delivered before we had finished our appetizers and the whole evening seemed rushed, with uninformed staff that all seemed as if they had been out too late the night before. We don’t have a lot of wonderful restaurants on the UES, so I hope my next visit will improve drastically or I’ll have to find another haunt. Which would be too bad.
Best Italian food on the upper east side.. Caravaggio (same owner) is just as good..
Excellent food. Superior service. Expansive wine list. Highly recommended.
The tuna steak special was amazing, as were the lamb chops. We also liked the primi scallops, artichoke and octopus.
Very arrogant service
We ate outdoors as it was a lovely night. The service was gracious and impeccable and if you have ever eaten here, you know that the food is delectable!
We have always spent our special occasions at Sistina which has been our very favorite restaurant. This being our 50th anniversary, we looked forward to returning after COVID. I did mention that when I made the reservation and it was recognized by the hostess but after that no one mentioned it at all. We were ignored by mostly everyone; the service the worst I’ve ever had there and the food not exceptional as before. Not until we finished the meal and asked for the check did they appear with a dessert with a happy anniversary written on the plate. Unfortunately, it was the same dessert we had already eaten. No one seem to notice that small fact. The entire evening was a tremendous disappointment which was too bad considering that 50th anniversaries don’t come along that often.

A bit pricey, but worth it.
Creative, imaginative food; luxury atmosphere; first class service.
So delicious. Out of some items because of Mother’s Day. But my favorite place
I really like Sistina. Yes, it is very expensive, but in past visits for special occasions it was worthy of the expense. This past visit, when the restaurant became quite busy, half way into my and my guest's meal, the service was not attentive and the servers were running to take care of the diners. When we arrived we were greeted and wished a Happy Birthday (noted on our reservation) and thanked for dining at Sistina, we had a lovely table, the food was delicious...but we had been forgotten by the end of the meal, leaving disappointed instead of the usual high note.
One of my favorite restaurants
If we only lived down the street rather than in another state . . . Giuseppe never disappoints and always inspires our kitchen at home. Perfect meals. Thank you Sistina and thank you to our chef crush, Giuseppe.
I've eaten at Sistina many times over the past several years; however, last night's meal deserves special compliments to the chef, as well as their whole staff.
Our food was outstanding as was the ambience.
Thank you for being here!!!!!
food is always good as is the service. always a pleasure to be there.
Great food though quite pricey. It was unfortunate that we were given only one and a half hours to dine though we had to pay a big price. At least Two hours would have been better and fair so that we could relax and enjoy the great food and drinks.
I met a friend for lunch--what a treat after all this time--and Sistina was a perfect spot. Lovely ambiance, attentive wait staff and excellent food. Highly recommend it
Lovely room in back atrium. Perfect place for lunch before or after a visit to the Met
What an absolutely perfect meal! Service was outstanding and food delicious and beautifully served. Perfect for a special occasion!
We had a fabulous 3 hour lunch, celebrating my sister’s birthday. The special drinks were great. The food was delicious and plentiful.
One unusual thing was that they ran out of bread. The waiter apologized and gave us one free drink to make up
for not having bread.
The service was not great, but I think there may have been some staff that were absent. Our waiter did say that the bartender wasn’t there, but the drinks were great. We were not in a hurry and enjoyed the lovely outdoor setup and being in each other’s company.
The iceberg lettuce wedge with bacon which was recommended by the server was good but not very interesting. The Dover sole was excellent as were the desserts. We ate outside and found ourselves looking for the server to order desserts and coffee. In fairness it was a busy Saturday evening and the wait time once we ordered was relatively short.
Such a lovely neighborhood Italian restaurant uptown. They do a very nice job with their outdoor seating. The street scape is lovely. Indoors is beautiful. In or out door it is lovely dining experience and so near The Met.
It was a cold the halibut was flaky and perfect; the linguini with fresh razor and little neck clams briny and delicious. The service was super efficient, friendly but not intrusive - these are real professionals!
Each course was superb. Service and setting were excellent.
Outstanding place. Everything it’s good. Try white asparagus with fried egg, and cheese, must try oysters, caviar and uni it’s amazing. Crudo really good. Service impeccable. The place is beautiful. Congratulations
The food and drinks were expensive but so worth it. The service and decor were terrific as well. As the saying goes “ you get what you pay for” we will be back. !!
Everything about this restaurant is excellent. The wine list is extensive.
Lovely. We sat outside but soon will come dine in.
Had a prefect lunch ~ service, food and wine were all terrific.
Outstanding in every way except we are inside and felt the tables were not spaced far enough apart in keeping with Covid protocol.
In late pandemic, this is a full service, full menu, luxury restaurant. Eating inside in a beautiful setting, vaccinated, was a welcome return to some normalcy.
Sistina is our favorite restaurant in NYC. We happened upon it after a Met visit years ago and were charmed by the ambiance, decor and hospitality of the staff.
They serve refined Italian food that my family enjoys but their traditional Italian food ( Buccatini Amatriciana the other day) is fabulous.
Absolutely fabulous. Ambiance, place it’s beautiful, and have outdoor too. But indoor have two different seating, one is very elegant, and espectacular decoración, and the other is like being in a garden with cristal roof. Service impeccable, Nestor our waiter was ver good. Wine list excellent. But food, is outstanding. We had oysters with uni and caviar, so delicious, artichokes steamed really good, seared foie gras very good, perfect size and perfect cook, white asparagus with cheese sauce and chanterelles, this was amazing. The variety in the menu it’s great, also the recommendations.
We should go back again! Congratulations.
Both indoor and outdoor are available at this expensive but wonderful restaurant.
