The Sterling Steakhouse was amazing - if you are in Ottawa it is worthwhile to make the short drove to Gatineau and dine at this restaurant!

First time at Sterling. Fabulous 90th birthday celebration for mom. Could not have picked a better venue. Sean Marc was really something else. The absolute epitome of customer service excellence! Went well beyond expectations.

All good. The steak and shellfish served was excellent. The salmon seemed overcooked and mushy. Grilled Salmon would be my suggestion for the chef, not the oven.

Extraordinary prix fixe menue. And lived up to veery expectation. Wine list beyond compare. One issue, add more wine by the glass . Multiple course dining requires a greater degree of flexibility

Service et nourriture impeccables, tout comme à notre première visite, il y a 3 ans! Une belle attention à notre dessert: un joyeux anniversaire dessiné dans une assiette à dessert accompagnant un délicieux gâteau mousse au chocolat! Un incontournable à Gatineau!!!

Very well designed and run restaurant. Traditional steakhouse in an elegant setting by the Gatineau River. Very helpful bilingual staff, providing knowledgeable and patient explanations to all of our questions. Our 5 and 7 year olds finished their steak, and some of ours as well!

Mother’s Day Dinner – Mixed Experience We hadn’t been back in a few years, and decided to return for Mother’s Day dinner with my mom and partner. We arrived early and were seated in the bar area, which offered a lovely view of the river and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Service started off strong—friendly and attentive—but as the restaurant filled up, our server became less present. It’s worth noting he seemed to be working both upstairs and our table on the main floor, so it felt like he was stretched thin. It took over an hour to receive our main courses. My mom ordered the filet mignon and found it stringy, while my partner's New York strip was overcooked. No one came by to ask how our meals were, and they didn’t want to make a fuss, so we didn’t send anything back. My own steak, however, was cooked perfectly. We ended the meal on a high note with the cheesecake, which was delicious. All in all, the setting and ambiance were excellent, but the service and food execution were inconsistent this visit.
