The food was awesome. Everything on the salad bar was fresh. The hot foods where hot. Our server Sergio made sure that had everything was perfect. This was my 37th wedding anniversary. I was sent a complètement coupon for à dessert. It was décline. He felt so bad. All in all the expérience was great

The meats were very tasty and the cold/hot bar was delicious. My wife just didn't like the mushrooms. The service was VERY slow. For most of my meal my water was empty (once, maybe twice, somebody stopped by to fill it), and the waiter didn't know his wines at all (he brought out the wrong wine). Our waiter was very nice, but not very good. Our plates also piled up at the table and nobody stopped by to pick them up. It's a toss up, but I probably wouldn't go back. Fogo do Chao is much better in my opinion.

Food was good. The meat came around often. Service was ok, nothing special for an anniversary dinner. I listed in reservations through OpenTable that it was an anniversary dinner, and also requested a nice table. Upon arrival, the hostess again asked if we were celebrating a special occasion, and we mentioned anniversary. Our table was towards the back corner and my view was of the entrance to a service area. We asked for a different table, but hostess was a little hesitant, so we just said that the table was fine. No mention of anniversary or special occasion by waiter throughout dinner, and we showed a coupon for a free anniversary dessert, so we chose the cheesecake. Dessert was delicious and huge, but a hand written “Happy Anniversary” on plate would have been nice, at least to acknowledge our celebration. When the bill came we used a $100 GC (gift card) as partial payment and presented the dessert coupon which he wrote the code. He came back after running the GC and said that we couldn’t use the coupon because we used GC, and to use the free dessert coupon on another visit. I didn’t realize it said on the back of the gift card, that read, you couldn’t combine GC with any other offers (free dessert). I kindly asked if he couldn’t just comped the dessert as a kind gesture for our anniversary as they’ve done it in the past, and the waiter said, no. So, that’s basically my main complaint, that the free Anniversary dessert wasn’t honored because we used GC as partial payment. The GC was given to us as Anniversary gift, to celebrate our anniversary! GC should equal same value as cash!! If we knew the dessert wasn’t going to be comped via the coupon, we wouldn’t have ordered dessert because we were already full from dinner.

We had a great experience at Texas de Brazil. The food was delicious. The service was excellent. Our server was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. She always had a smile and seemed to know exactly when we might need something. We will definitely be back.

We visit Texas de Brazil from out of state a few times a year. We visited this location about exactly a year ago. I have to say both experiences were very similar. The food is fantastic, but the service is really bad. Like bad enough that I feel like I shouldn’t have to tip although I did end up tipping 20%. We ordered just the salad bar and requested no bread, potatoes, or extras they normally bring. I think that’s a pretty easy table. However our waiter never checked on us once during the entire lunch. I waited so long that I got up and waited on my self to get more water. The waiter asked the manager to get our check. The manager had an entire conversation with another customer. Finished, printed our bill and dropped it at our table. No, how was everything? Can I cash you out? With so many great restaurants in Detroit I would no longer recommend this one. $60 for two salads and no service. The firsts responders discount has also been reduced from 20% to 10%.
