Amazing. Booked in late on a Saturday night and could not fault this place. Food was to die for and great value, although on the expensive side, for what you get and the standard of food it was definitely worth it. Not to be overlooked.

We booked table for restaurant but tried to put us in bar which was soon rectified. ...I also requested Sunday roast beef which I was told customers had cancelled and therefore get that request. ..so ordered lamb which was awful. ..Big lump of fat and staff agreed and knocked it off bill...staff were under lot of stress. ..everything seemed to be going wrong....but onbrighter side my husbands meal of cod was good. ..We will go back again because have been before and usually very good ...just seemed tohave bad day

We have eaten here before on a number of occasions and as usual food was good (large portions as well) and service friendly and efficient. If you are looking for fresh, well prepared food this is the place. The menu has all the usuals with some interesting meals as well. I recommend the Smoked Haddock risotto one of the best I have eaten. Its a starter but is the size of a main. The veal burger was also excellent. We will be back.

I had the vegetarian roast dinner which was lovely and served with a nice amount of vegetables and gravy. Something that you don't see very often as a vegetarian. I'll often have to have a risotto or pasta dish while the rest of the group have their roasts and this fits put me off going out for Sunday dinners. But this made the experience especially good. My husband had the beef which he enjoyed too. Service was great and we had our meals quickly and the plates were nice and hot. We both had a desert too. I would highly recommend the lemon possett. Will definitely be coming back soon.

We had a lovely evening at this restaurant. Starters were both very good: risotto with smoked haddock and a side salad. We both ordered mussels in a white wine cream sauce - very tasty, mussels INCREDIBLY fresh & tender...perhaps redefining our standard for what mussels should taste like! Unfortunately, there was a fair amount of sand in the mussels, slightly impacting my enjoyment of the dish. Portions were very generous. Their artisanal bread was excellent. My husband, who requires gluten free for coeliac, was delighted with his GF bread and the GF chips (impossible to find in the restaurants at home in the States) - and the fact that almost the entire menu was GF. We were in the main dining room (as opposed to the tavern).
