About this restaurant

  • Charming
  • Good for special occasions
  • Neighborhood gem
Queen Mary Tea Room has been providing tea service and fine dining to Seattle and its visitors for 36 years. Our Afternoon Tea with the cranberry orange scones and crumpets to the mint cucumber tea sandwiches, and the silver teapots of Queen Mary's finest teas with the fine English bone china teacups, it's a tradition many generations have experienced.

Our Brunch and Lunch menus are also quite delicious with homemade quiches and soups that will bring you back again and again.

We visited today to celebrate a birthday and were delighted by the unique experience the tea room provided. Though the space is small, the atmosphere was charming and tranquil, almost like being transported to another world. While the afternoon tea is on the pricier side, it’s comparable to what you might spend on an upscale dinner, I think. Both of my adult children thoroughly enjoyed the experience, making it well worth it.

Wonderful afternoon tea for grandma and grandpa's birthday celebration. While the full afternoon tea was lovely, the chicken salad was the winner of the day. It was fresh and light and had a stellar honey mustard dressing. My daughters absolutely adored their children's tea, and it was an incredibly generous amount of food for a child's meal. Lovely atmosphere, delicious food, and charming experience. Will come back for another special occasion for sure!

Loved the Afternoon Tea selection with soup, crustless sandwiches, and sweets. Beautifully decorated with abundant flowers, bows, and tea cups. The numbers of teas to choose from is staggering. So difficult to choose! I loved my Teatime in London blend with bergamot, lavender, and creamy notes.

Queen Mary is a cheerful, cozy restaurant. The staff is very friendly; service prompt, but patient. As one who does not drink caffeine, I appreciate the large selection of herbal and rooibos teas. Highly recommend getting a side of lemon curd with your scone!

We had Royal Afternoon Tea, including strawberry Bellini. Every item was a wonderful bite of flavor. We also tasted two teas they brought to us in addition to the pots of tea we ordered. Kristin was our wait person and she was welcoming, efficient, and very sweet. We had a great experience here, and shopped at their retail space across the street after our tea. We never felt rushed!

DREAMY! Delicious. Fantastic ambiance, food and service. We saw mothers and little girl daughters, a bachlorette party, a young couple where the guy seemed really into it (!), and we were 2 close friend moms with our young adult daughters. Emmi was one of the best, kindest, most amazing wait staffers I have experienced. She asked if we were celebrating something special. We told her, actually, a beloved friend who loved Queen Mary Tea had recently passed away and we were memorializing her. Emmi handled that so well and made sure the moment was treated as specially as a Happy Birthday. We each had a different delicious tea. LOVED the Brie and strawberry omelette and the salmon quiche. Our vegan daughter was beautifully accommodated. All in all a perfect visit. Make your reservations early and often. This place is popular for a reason!

Such a special day! The tea room is adorable and perfectly decorated. Sophia our server was so kind and knowledgeable. We did the afternoon tea and everything was so tasty and fresh. There were so many delicious teas it was hard to decide but all of our severs recommendations were perfect. Will definitely be back.
