Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Westward boasts an "iconic setting" with "amazing location" and "beautiful views" of Lake Union, perfect for a special occasion. While the oysters are frequently described as "incredible," menu options can be limited, and service is sometimes inconsistent. The restaurant offers a memorable ambience, accentuated by its waterside charm.

The freshest of shellfish (oysters) and a delicious garden salad. The bread plate slathered with butter was delicious. The drinks were a little off (Last Word and Paloma), much better at Walrus & Carpenter. Service was efficient and attentive.

The food was amazing and it's in a beautiful location. However, I had requested a table outside because we were celebrating our 10-year anniversary. They sat us inside near a dirty window so we couldn't appreciate the view and never mentioned our anniversary. We ordered the crispy potatoes, and we were asked if we wanted ketchup and/or aioli dipping sauces. We said yes to both and ultimately asked for another serving of aioli. Since the condiments were not on the menu (that we saw), we did not know until we received our bill that we were charged 3.00 for each condiment. Not a huge expense but seems cheap for a restaurant of this caliber. Overall, the experience was disappointing, but the food was amazing, and the restaurant has the potential to provide a great ambience and view if you're in the right spot.

It's a nice place, but it charges a 22% service charge on menu items that are already expensive. Halibut was overcooked but still good. Their sparkling water was either a white label version of peñafiel or indistinguishable from it, also made in Estado de Mexico which I found interesting. The pricing, and service charge gimmick won't have me returning here, because for a $250 dinner for two, I'd rather take a flight to mexico and have an amazing dinner with better mineral water.

Always a beautiful view from Westward, which is the primary reason to go. Most dishes were excellent but too many items had spicy profiles, making it hard to navigate for those in our group who don’t favor spicy food. All in all, a good experience, fabulous oysters were the standout.

We had an amazing experience. The oysters were to die for, the French Chenin Blanc was perfect with the oysters, and the rhubarb cobbler finished it off perfectly. We felt like we were on vacation.

Surprised the quality of the food did not meet previous expectations. Ceviche was very raw- not well marinated in the citrus sauce. Hot chicken was challenging to cut and share. Limited menu for main dishes. Great for oysters and drinks just not adequate for a full dinner setting.

Great ambience. The whole chicken my friend and I ordered (2 total) barely had five bites of meat on it. They comped us one of them but that was pretty much a waste of a meal.

The place is nice but the food is horrible and very expensive. Pork was decent, crab kid would be great for a kid menu and the salad is only oil and mayonnaise.

Great food in a lovely setting, we are vegetarians but our friends said the raw oysters were the best they have ever had

The food was excellent, but the service did not match. Our server did not come around nearly enough. We had to wait a long time to re-order drinks and get the check. For the astronomical price of the bill, I expect much better service.
