   The Basement is a hidden gem across the street from the Staten Island Ferry terminal. The food and service are wonderful! We started with great cocktails, followed by steak and swordfish, and for the finale, a delicious crème brûlée! We had a toddler with us and they kindly gave us a booth on the end with a banquette so she could nap! By the time we left at 8pm, the place was packed.

   Food was delicious …grilled oysters, fried broccolini, caesar salad, osso buco, chicken martini…all yummy and large portions. Our server, Sean, provided excellent, personalized service as usual. Love this place!

   Perfect little spot to celebrate my husband's birthday; this place made it very special. Food and drinks were delicious, as always...staff attentive.

   Maureen when she takes my order she always has everything ready and always attentive included the whole staff. Food is always great. Enjoyable as always!

   Excellent food and service. Meal was well paced. Interior of the restaurant is well appointed and makes for a very pleasant atmosphere.

   As you enter, you’re greeted as if you’re entering a book store/library. It’s hard to find the bathroom because they look like cool book shelves with boxes of category cards (what we used pre computers for the younger generations). The menu has so many great choices. The food was delicious and our waiter Sean was attentive, friendly & welcoming. It was my first time there but not my last.
