    Great food, great food, fair prices, wonderful atmosphere starting with free valet parking. Could have done without squealing kids two tables over, and parents who ignored the situation.

    I made this reservation over a month in advance and requested outdoor dining since both my in-laws wear hearing aids. The last visit to Merrick was extremely loud indoors and we had to basically scream at each other while dining. When I got a call from Merrick the day before to confirm, I spoke again with them to make sure we had outdoor seating, and the hostess assured me, “oh yes, I see it in your notes.” When we arrived for our reservation and they informed us we were dining inside, I told them I had spoken with someone within the past day or two to confirm outdoor seating, and they tried to make it sound like there was no record and as if I was making up my conversation confirming the arrangement. I was not only disappointed, but I was also livid. I know what conversation I had, which leads me to believe it was either incompetence or a total disregard to the reservation system. Never again. There are too many nice restaurants in Lexington that I wouldn’t have let this happen.

    We very much enjoyed brunch on the patio for Father’s Day. We were concerned about rain but it is covered so that was not a problem. Everything was delicious and our server was excellent.

    One of our favorite spots, especially al fresco dining on the spacious and beautiful patio. We had grouper fingers as an app and they are always perfectly prepared. Our entrees were a lovely lemon garlic basil salad and a perfectly prepared Canadian salmon. A nice bottle of Sauvignon Blanc was a great choice to complement the meal. Although the patio was packed with guests our server Austin was attentive and friendly and handled everything with ease. The Merrick Inn is always a treat.
