The BEST roast rib of beef I have ever tasted!
Well worth every penny, an experience not to be missed
Just a beautiful day and a beautiful place.
And we didn’t get Covid19!!! Yay!!!!
As always we had a superb evening at the lovely Simpson's in the Strand restaurant, excellent food (Beef Wellington to die for) , excellent service and a general fabulous time.
Cocktails upstairs beforehand were superb... best mixed Cosmo's ANYWHERE !
Simpson’s in the Strand is an excellent place to have good food served by excellent staff. Pre dinner drinks in Knights Bar is a great way to start and finish your meal.
Fantastic service and friendly staff. 😊 Would definitely recommend for a special occasion!
I’ve been to Simpson’s more than a dozen times. Beautiful setting. Whoever came up w the idea to put a pianist in the Restaurant should be terminated. In a room that cavernous there was no way to have a convo despite moving. Ruined the entire experience.
First time visiting and wow what a place...
Service outstanding food delicious I cannot wait to return
I had booked about a week before but it was hardly necessary as there were only 2 other people in the room.
Was greeted at entrance politely and escorted to tabel and issued with menus. Decided on smoked salmon statrter which was excellent and just the right portion. Main course was Roast Beef which was also excellent. The accompaniments were really good large Yorkshire, roast potatos and savoy? cabbage & gravy. The portions were just about right but it was so delicious that I ate the lot! I had a glass of claret which, again, was very good.
The complete lack of atmosphere due to empty room.
I thought it a little overpriced as lunch came to £ 71:00 to which 12 1/2% service charge was added which I think is lot for 1 person.
However the food and service were first class and as it is such an iconic venue, I suppose that must expect to pay top dollar.
I always go for the Carvery - not only is the meat delicious but the skill of the staff in slicing it in front of you, is a delight to see. Going to Simpsons is our favourite restaurant, where the Waiters knowledge of the menu and its preparation etc., makes for a thoroughly enjoyable occasion - not to be missed.
We had a delightful lunch. The food & drinks were delicious - especially the roast beef. Staff were very attentive & friendly. Would thoroughly recommend for a special occasion.
Great experience. Staff was friendly and attentive!
Still the best roast beef I have ever eaten served by some of the friendliest and most professional staff. It's an absolute no-brainer when I get asked what my 'last meal' would be: Sunday roast at Simpson's In The Strand - with extra horseradish!!
A fantastic Sunday lunch for my 60th Birthday. Everything was really lovely.
Nice atmosphere and great service but the food quality is not what I expected.
We had a wonderful pre theatre dinner here. The service was excellent, not rushed but we weren't sat for ages waiting and our server was very good also sharing knowledge of the building with us. The food was excellent and there was a lovely atmosphere as there was a pianist playing. We enjoyed it so much we tried to go back on the Sunday for lunch but unfortunately it was fully booked. Will definitely make sure to book next time and will also return on our next visit to London 😁❤️
Great if you eat meat and fish, not much choice for vegans/vegetarians. Wonderful place to get acquainted with traditional English cuisine but if it is full can be very noisy but we always have a meal here when we come to London. Staff helpful and not invasive.
A very special room for a special occasion. The service, though, wasn't quite as classy as everything else, with the waitress unable to answer my question about the ingredients, the waiter having to ask which meal belonged to whom when he brought them to the table, and a long wait for the bill at the end of the night (despite asking for it three times). All these things are fussy, I know, but they're what I'd expect from a fine dining establishment worthy of the name.
Been before and all five of us thought the food was fantastic so could not wait to return. What a disappointment this time only two of us, one had the carvery gammon but could not eat all of it as it was so salty, I had the carvery beef meat cooked to perfection, not could be said with the vegetables, roast potatoes were soft and tasted as if reheated Yorkshire pudding was over cooked on outside and a bit raw inside.
I booked this restaurant primarily because it was close to the theatre and had a pre theatre menu, but it was also my son’s birthday and wanted something special, we were not disappointed, the pre theatre set menu food was of a very high standard, my only criticism was that there was not a lot of choice .
Great food, fantastic food and a very pleasant ambiance. Will definitely visit again.
Posto bellissimo e servizio all'altezza. Sicuramente è tra i migliori, anzi forse è il migliore, Sunday Roast di Londra.
Fantastic food, delicious cocktails and impeccable services. Pricey but worth it.
