Well we checked in at 5:50 for a 6pm reservation, sat down by 6. Long story short it seemed we waited longer to speak to the waiter than anything else. It was a 2 hour and 10min meal. Appetizer, we had to ask twice for. Dinner was good. Just took awhile for the waiter / service for each order.
The cream burlee was cold, and most places I’ve eaten at has been sugar warm on top.
Had my hopes set for a delicious meal. Started out good with a margarita and calamari appetizer, then we had the yummy complimentary bread. However the meal was a disappointment. I ordered the halibut cheek special and the fish just seemed over crusted and some pieces were just too dry for my liking. The asparagus was so-so (I could have made better at home) and the potatoes were over seasoned. My husband ordered the cheeseburger and it was just underwhelming ☹️ sadly I wish we had stayed home and made steaks, but was glad to have gotten out for the dining experience we have all been missing.
Overall, the service was slow and the food was mediocre. The appetizer came out luke warm. The dinner entrees were very dry and over cooked.
Our service wasn’t very good, Renee didn’t appear to be put together we ordered a second drink & waited about 30 minutes & Renee came back to the table & asked if we needed anything & we say for our drinks & she said Oh I didn’t know you wanted another one? Then the bill came & we were over charged!
Service was good up to the point when a new server approached the table and said she was now our server. Why does it become my problem when the establishment decides to change servers? My gratuity reflects the service I receive. How am I supposed to reward a server who has not finished his job?
Best food in Anchorage. Halliburton cheeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think the food has gone down in quality. The last two times I’ve eaten here I have not enjoyed the food. I ordered a virgin Mojito and it was terrible, bitter. The waiter ended up comping it which was good. But the food was really Soso it wasn’t anything spectacular for the price I would not come here again. I would have to say the best part was the French onion soup was good
Spent 4 hours there discussing business. Perfect atmosphere and fantastic food and service as usual.
Two words... halibut cheeks.
I don’t think there’s any other place on the planet that serves this dish in such an elegant fashion. This dish is an all-time favorite.
The service here is consistently upscale and there isn’t a bad table in the entire restaurant. Beautiful views and exquisite ambience.
Fantastic evening to celebrate our daughter's birthday.
Food was good, prices were higher for the same meals we have eaten there many times.
Perfect timing for sunset view overlooking the water.
This place is top notch! The food and service were excellent. We had the stuffed halibut and the halibut cheeks and they were so good. If you are a dessert person, I would highly recommend the key lime pie. We really enjoyed our experience!!
The food quality was not good. Massively overpriced for the quality, portions and weak drinks.
The service was good, the food was delicious and the view was breathtaking.
Excellent food and great service.
My group thoroughly enjoyed our meal and service, price was good, just a touch over market but worth it.
This restaurant was recommended by several friends. The sunset view is beautiful and the food was good as well.
We were expecting top notch service and ambiance and got none of that! The server was sweating profusely(I understand it’s hard to wear a mask) but it was so gross! He had an attitude from the beginning to the end! It took 25 minutes just to order drinks and we literally almost walked out several time! The food was cold and bland and even though there is a great view, don’t waste your time or money! What a joke!
Great service, terrible food! There was way too much lemon and salt in most of the meals we tried.
Disappointed in the menu. Many of our favorite appetizers were not available. I had to ask our server for the specials of the night, as he did not initiate on two visits to our table.
Limited menu... basically a lunch menu!
You can tell there is new ownership, food quality is down. Service is slower than before, especially since the restaurant can only be 1/3 full. What's your special occasion, doesn't matter it's not even mentioned it used to be a lillte streamers on the table and a free dessert. Now you get nothing. What was once great has turned to just a average place to eat. Definitely not for a special occasion anymore.
We reserved on line and couldn't request a table by the window with a water view but when we arrived and communicated our request to the hostess we were accommodated as a table with a view was just closing out. The restaurant was cozy with large windows overlooking the water. It was early, 5:30 PM, and quiet; the restaurant had scheduled the number of tables with diners to comply with COVID-19 requirements. Our server as did all the staff wore a face mask. She took our drink orders which were delivered by another server. When our server returned she quickly noticed the mistake, a short had been served instead of a tall, and had the ordered drink in no time at all. For our entrees we ordered broiled halibut cheeks and salmon with potatoes and asparagus, both delicious and gluten free (GF) and lactose free (LF). The dessert selection also included a GF and LF choice which we selected and was a wonderful end to the meal. Great dining experience and a very pleasant end to our vacation in Alaska.
First day back open after Mayor’s pandemic shutdown. Usually I’m a fan - but service was extremely slow and there was only one other table occupied. Meals too way to long to receive and when we did mine was cold and the other meal (fish and chips) was extremely greasy. Not the meal I’m used to from this establishment.
Communication was AWFUL. I called, 5 times, to try and speak with a person, prior to booking -- no luck and no option. When we arrived, as a party of 7, we were initially told that we could be seated, together, by the hostess. The gal who seated us split our party, into 4+3, without explanation, and was short and snippy, when we relayed what the hostess had told us. Our waiter, Brant, was EXCELLENT, and answered every question that we had, we appropriate detail and explanation, even checking with management, as necessary. His service warranted a 5-Star rating, but our response was brought down, due to the aforementioned factors.
The Sea Scallops were outstanding, as were the baked halibut (catch of the day), and the filet. Unfortunately, my wife's chicken fettuccine alfredo is surpassed by a popular Italian chain restaurant, best known for their bottomless salad and breadsticks.
While we can understand that menus may be limited, due to having just re-opened, following Herr Berkowitz's latest mandates, it was upsetting that the online menu still shows a number of items we found to be unavailable.
The prices at Simon's are high. They have always been high. $49 for a filet is pretty steep, no matter where you eat. Ambiance suffers, due to COVID-19 restrictions, and this also contributed to the lower noise levels.
All in all, this was the least satisfying overall experience that my wife and I have ever had, at Simon's. Unfortunate that it was with our family, as they were visiting from the New Orleans area, for their first time. Until all restrictions are lifted and full service and menus return, I would not recommend Simon's.
Simon is always a good choice. Great food and a great experience.
Simon's is always a wonderful place to visit
I felt the $28 price tag for lunch was steep
Beautiful views, excellent food, love their daily specials and seafood, one of Anchorage's classiest restaurants!
Always very nice
Service was kind of slow. Surprising as there were few customers due to the limitations. there seemed to be the correct number of servers, ours was just slow.
This place was very nice and they fit us into the bar with very little notice; the tables were spaced-out well for social distancing and we had a clear view of the inlet. It has a good ambience fora celebratory dinner.
Practically perfect in every way. It is our go to date night location.
Simon and Seaforts never disappoints. The food is always delicious and cooked to perfection. Every member of the staff is friendly. The key lime is the best so save room for dessert!
I was craving fresh seafood and Simon/Seafort’s was recommended. I had the special which was halibut cheeks as an entree. The presentation was beautiful, but unfortunately, the halibut cheeks had a heavy breading which took away from the beauty and taste of the halibut. It was easily peeled off so I wasn’t deterred. A light panko crust would have been a much better choice (in my humble opinion). The ambience and service was excellent. I appreciate the staff’s attention to COVID precautions.
Delicious food, superior service. Early dinner dining with my young teen for a special dinner. Great attention from waiter and other staff made us both enjoy our dinner. Always excellence at this restaurant.
Excellent experience. Great ocean view of Cook Inlet. Excellent food at good price. I enjoyed myself. Will look forward to another visit.
Simon and Seafort is hands down one of best restaurants here in Anchorage, Ak.
Really enjoyed my experience , Thanks a bunch.
First the ambience of the restaurant was exactly what I like. Energetic but not over the top. Our server was fantastic. The bread and smoked salmon bisque were out of this world. The fried Calamari was excellent. The wine list wonderful. Our entrees were very good. Overall a super meal. A wonderful end to our vacation.
Best prime rib I’ve ever had. I will definitely go back next year.
