This is not a $$$$ restaurant. Most of the sides and apps were good but the steak was no better than a steak at Denny’s with steak and eggs. Outraged that we paid 70.00 for a steak like that. It is in the lobby of Hyatt like a morning breakfast restaurant. Absolutely not upscale in any way shape or form. The only thing that made it acceptable was the staff. They were very attentive!!

The food here is good albeit expensive. We enjoyed all Items we ordered: small filet, shrimp cocktail, crab cake and Caesar salad. What is lacking is the service (waitress did not know the specials) and was not trained properly to provide the type of service you would expect in a “high-end” steakhouse. The ambiance is also terrible. I’ve seen better decor and ambiance at a Chili’s. The environment is sterile and not befitting a steakhouse.

Good flavor, way too expensive, no ambiance whatsoever. More of an after work hang out. It’s no longer a romantic place to enjoy a nice evening. Steak was dry and warm, not hot. Baked potatoes were several hours old and didn’t even melt the butter or the cheese. Unfortunately, we do not recommend this place to anyone.

The food was not that great. We ordered the shrimp appetizer, and it was so salty that it made it an inedible. The steak was just so OK. The sided that I had were spinach and mushrooms. Mushrooms were excellent. The spinach was unseasoned. The staff was great and accommodating, but I can’t go back because the food just wasn’t that great.

Very disappointed. You make a reservation for Shula’s lunch menu and yet you can only have the buffet breakfast. Most of this was barely warm or had been sitting there for some time. The breads were stale and even the coffee was cold. The free breakfast in our hotel was as good, yet this was $50.

There were painfully few food options at this Hyatt hotel ( I’m here in business) so I dined at Shula’s. Ordered the wedge salad, which came drenched in an overly cloying, spicy bacon jam slathered all over it. The waitress came by to see how our salads were and I expressed discontent. She said “ I”m sorry” and walked away. Seriously??!!! She came bs k a few minutes later - I suppose she needed to ask a higher up what to do - and then she offered to change the salad for one without all the garbage on it. It was better, but no chunks of bacon, just a few shavings. The rib eye was delicious and perfectly cooked. The asparagus was inedible- again, just covered in a greasy sauté and Parmesan cheese. Steak houses should emphasize simple, perfectly prepared dishes, not look to over glaze the lily. I wouldn’t come back here.

No full menu available. For a “steakhouse” just having a “Prime Rib buffet” and a 7 oz filet as options is not acceptable. Customers should be told about this when making reservations.

We have been to Shulas Steakhouse in other locations and food quality for price fell way short. The experience was marred by several mistakes in order. We ordered alcohol drinks before we ordered food, food came out first?? Bad experience overall

Steaks were improperly cooked, Brussel sprouts were so over fried there weren’t even colored centers, were it not for the faint smell of burnt cabbage I would have thought they mistakenly served the briquets from the grill. Of minor note-we did have to solicit a different waiter to get water-seems silly to even mention a matter so trivial…. the best thing of the night were the drinks, here we go. My son ordered and received a specific brand of whiskey-which tasted off. As he was musing over the strangeness of the flavor coincidentally the table next to us attempted the same beverage request and was informed, by a different server, the restaurant didn’t carry the brand, interesting we thought….I ordered Sailor Jerry and diet coke..twice. It tasted horrible-so sweet my cheeks literally touched each other across the top of my molars. Not a gentle “bump” mind you, but rather a slam a screen door on a rabid raccoon type of encounter. i thought maybe they were spiking it with cherry juice perhaps, strange for a diet drink order but I figured whatever, its Texas. Upon receiving the bill I realized they had been serving me “Elderflower and Diet Coke” -yes, its a thing, which while interesting and complex in its sophistication, not a cocktail I would recommend for the average drinker. I noted this on the bill-more as an education tool than anything-they chose to do nothing. All in all one of the poorest meals I have ever experienced but definitely one of the best laughs i have ever had. I don’t really even know how to quantify the level of horrible Shula’s of Houston embodied on this night. Not sure what the going rate is for an hour of comedy in Houston but it’s unquestionably the most humorous meal i have ever experienced-thanks for the experience Shulas!

I took my wife for valentines dinner. Service was great but the menu was very limited. Food was very poor quality. And the price for the food didnt go together. To pricie for the poor quality food. Defenetly go to Saltgrass and you can get a better stake.

We felt very rushed. Although we arrived at 6:30 pm, plenty of time, and was not crowded. When the waitress came to take our order, she wanted us to order everything at once. So, I say to her can we give you our drink order first. She takes out drink order, then came back to take our food order. We order a soup, to share, then a 7 oz steak, with fries, I order the crab cakes entree. The fries came out with the soup instead of the entree'. She did bring a fresh order fries with his steak. We also received our soup and fries before we got our drinks. We were in and out in less than an hour. We were there celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary, so. We have been here many times. Not one of our better experiences. IT is the food that keeps us coming back.

We ordered 6 dishes. 2 were burnt, 1 had raw chicken, and my mom’s steak $70 steak wasn’t even cooked to her preferred temp. $70 for a 16 Oz ribeye is crazy, and it wasn’t all that. The one bright side their calamari is awesome!

Shula Restaurant was modern, clean and the atmosphere was good. However the quality of the food was terrible, especially for the price. The food was bland, hardly any seasoning, not tasty at all. The Cajun Shrimp appetizer was delicious, I wish it was a main dish. The house salad was delicious. The steak was just okay, not a good quality of meat and it wasn’t tasty. I sent the Salmon back, it was dried out, cold and mushy, it tasted like packaged Salmon, not fresh. The roasted chicken was horrible too, it was served warm, half cooked, stale and very bland. I wanted all of my money back, it was a bad choice for New Years Eve. The service wasn’t good, but they tried. The waitress seemed disconnected and very lazy like and just a whatever attitude. Also, my coffee was served Luke warm, almost cold. I am not certain how Shula remain open with high prices that doesn’t match the bad tasting food and poor service.

Was in town for a cheer competition and heard great things about Shula’s in general, and we were staying at the hotel, so we decided to give it a whirl. First off, the decor and ambiance was NOTHING like we expected. No white table clothes, no oak or mahogany walls (guess we should have looked at the pictures), no wood floors. Rather it felt like a cafeteria; metal chairs, white empty walls, poor lighting, just not a good aesthetic impression at all. Our server was the bartender, which wasn’t terribly bad because when he did finally get to us, he was very pleasant and accommodating, except for the fact that he was unwilling to do separate checks for our two families. He just was not as attentive as your typical high end steakhouse server because he was having to manage bar customers as well. The food was mostly great; steaks done perfectly and wonderfully seasoned. The house salad was huge and couldn’t finish it, but the flavor of the dressing was awesome - definitely splittable. I and my fiend both had the surf and turf - not worth the extra $30 for a small lobster tail that was overdone and dried out. The truffle Mac and cheese was excellent, as were the Brussel sprouts. All in all, it wasn’t bad, but it certainly wasn’t what we expected for a high end steakhouse where the bill was over $800 for a party of 7, with 7 glasses of wine.

Typical hotel restaurant. Food was good but very ‘heavy’ and ‘saucy’. The tomato and bacon jam on the wedge salad made it very sweet and not pleasant like the normal wedge. Portions are huge and should have split a salad and enter.

For a pretty pricey steak place with great food, the atmosphere was really lacking. It felt more like being in a work cafeteria than a nice restaurant. There were several dressed up couples there for dates and they seemed to feel totally out of place and looked clearly disappointed. We were there for a casual family dinner but the atmosphere was even disappointing for that purpose.

Chicken had no flavor. Baked potato was served cold. Hot grouper was set down on a bed of cold carrot purée on a cold plate. It took at least one half our between completion of salad to service of meal. Never asked if we wanted another beverage. Server refused to do separate checks on instruction from manager. Prices high where you would expect top notch service and food.
