One of the best restaurants in the Cleveland area you must dine there
The food is always consistently good , fresh and presented beautifully
We generally like this restaurant very much for sushi or Asian soup/noodle dishes. This time we had duck and a shrimp/ scallop skewer dishes from the menu. Neither were particularly good. Stick with sushi, hot pots, ramen or other soup/noodle dosages and you will have a very good meal. Deviate and you might be disappointed, as we were.
Always great at Shuehi
Great, as always.
Outstanding as always!! Great service every time and food is one of a kind!
Good was great as usual!!!
Saturday night. Fairly crowded and overly noisy.
As usual our experience was excellent! The food, atmosphere, service are exceptional. I’m looking forward to my next visit.
Excellant as always.
Always good. Such a nice and attentive staff. Great food. Free parking.
The BEST sushi in Cleveland!!!
We always enjoy Shuhei. It is one of our favorite restaurants. the prices are a bit on the high side and the drinks are very high priced compared to comparable restaurants. However, the combination of great food and great service keep us going back, but we would probably go more often if the drinks were less expensive.
One of the best restaurants in Cleveland! Always a great meal here!
Just a fabulous meal and amazing service by Chi. I also love how the owner is always there and always making sure the experience is memorable. For those that think this is a fabulous sushi restaurant, they are correct but the non sushi menu here is gourmet and food quality is beyond exceptional. This is a consistent, truly excellent restaurant! Can't wait to go back!
Shuhei is an upscale Japanese restaurant with a nice atmosphere and efficient service. My disappointment is that the food is only average. The sushi was good but not better than a lot of other less expensive places. A couple of items from the kitchen menu were not well described by the menu and not particularly well prepared. By all means go to Shuhei for a special occasion where the ambiance is as important as the food. But save your money if you are a foodie.
Great sushi in Cleveland, yes! Consistently outstanding.
Always wonderful. Have been eating there for many years. So constant
Great as always
The parking lot had not been cleaned well at all which caused us a problem.
This was our first time to Shuhei. The fact that it was packed and very loud on a Sat. night told me that it must be good. I expected a warmer reception since we had reservations...not a smile to be had by the hostess or gentleman who seated us. The experience started with hot towels. Our waitress had to be new...after taking our appetizer order she also took the menus; we had to ask for them back to order dinner. During the meal, she identified a sauce she was putting down and then no sooner took it away. We had to wait until she returned to check on us to ask for it back. The sushi rolls are very small- smaller than the grocery store version. They were good but pricey for the size and the 6-count. They also took a long time to arrive. Our dinners - tempura chicken and sirloin steak . Each dinner came with miso soup and salad, both good. The entree's were a bit disappointing. The chicken tempura was completely unseasoned; literally chicken strips in a light crunch batter- very bland. With seasoning, it would have shined. The dipping sauce was watered down, nondescript teriyaki-like sauce; it added no flavor. The tempura battered vegetables were one broccoli, one slice of sweet potato, one zucchini and one banana...a rude awakening for me because super sweet, mushy banana is not palate pleaser. The steak dinner was odd; a small bowl of white rice, a pile of bean sprouts. a few veggies (unseasoned) and a steak that was unnaturally soft; almost like it had been marinated to break down the fibers and tenderize and then grilled fried (?). It is likely cut and used in other beef dinners on the menu. We also had to ask for a knife/fork; were they expecting us to cut and eat it with chopsticks? I would not recommend this dish. The desserts were few and not Japanese. Overall, this restaurant did not feel like a Japanese experience. Nothing was bad but overall, it was forgettable.
Never disappoints-my 3 year old grandaughter loves Shuhei!
Delicious and great service.
Over the many years this has become my consistent lunch place to meet with friends or business associates. For that matter, it's a great place for dinner too and whenever my daughter comes into town this is the restaurant she wants to go to. I don't blame her. One of Cleveland's stalwart gems.
A very disappointing meal at Shuhei. Fresh Salmon sushi was like a miniature order of sushi. About 1/3 the usual size at Shuhei. Teriyaki chicken was overcooked and dried out and tasteless. Have no idea what to order if I go back.
A great standard of consistency in Cleveland. Great service, great food expertly prepared. Everyone enjoyed!
This place is amazing and the food is always great! From the appetizers to the last bite - we were not disappointed!
This was my first visit. Our server was very courteous, friendly, and charismatic. And, the food was great. The sushi was as good as some of the restaurants that I visited in Manhattan.
We had a wonderful Christmas Eve dining experience...excellent atmosphere...excellent service and excellent food! Thank you for giving our family a wonderful Christmas Eve.
Always a great dining experience! We love Shuhei and will continue to go back.
Always a great place to eat!
Ramen somewhat bland. Sushi good. Service very good and professional.
Great service and great food! A bit overpriced
Love this place!
Fabulous service. Best sushi in Cleveland!
We’re never disappointed when we eat at Shuhei. We know what we’ll get each time and the restaurant is consistently good. The sushi is excellent and there’s a wide variety available. But the other items on the menu are just standard dishes you’d expect to find at most Japanese restaurants. All the food is very well prepared but there is nothing exceptional. Service is very good.
I decided to try something different tonight. This was delicious. I will definitely have again.
Very loud, and tables were too close together, going to the restroom was challenging.
Sushi was fresh and really good. Good service (fun!)
