SHU - Sushi House Unico - Bel Air
When the table next to us was engaged in a loud argument, the staff quickly rescued us to a quiet table.
Love the sushi and the service. Love the quality of the sushi. The sauce on the most simple dish (albacore sashimi) was amazing!!!
Fabulous food, service and ambiance!
Our waitress was not on top of things !
I arrived a bit late due to mad traffic and the quagmire at valet. Parking is nearly impossible at the peak dining times if you don’t valet, and the valet had at least 6 cars waiting when I arrived. But the food is amazing. They got one special order wrong, but I’m used to that being a picky eater - have to stress certain subs as it’s easy for them to revert to a norm. This is one of my go to spots in the area.
We went because of the reviews and the (convenient) location, but extremely overpriced & the food was very disappointing. ps Although there is a big free parking lot it's shared by 4 restaurants & other stores so plan to go very early or very late or be prepared to circle or wait for a space.
Excellent service and great food. Always a good crowd. Unique dishes.
The crunch roll is the best crunch roll I’ve ever had. It’s my number 1 go to dish!
I love shu. The sushi is the best. It is also outrageously expensive but worth it. It’s fresh, delicious and unique
The waitress never smiled and low energy for New Years Eve.
Always LOVE this place. AmazIng sushi and the staff is superb.
Try it, you’ll love it!!!!
The sushi is grade A & the dishes are divine!
This place has excellent seafood with uniquely plated dishes. With such a variety of seasonal and non-seasonal fare it is hard to not eat something raw.
Amazing and incredibly delicious
Great vegan options. The avocado roll is one of the most fresh and good I ever had.
We come here a lot. The food is always good. Tonight, the service was really off. Slow. Items not brought to us, but they were on our bill. Server corrected the bill, but really didn't seem to care.
Nice place with decent amount of options. Toro sashimi was exceptionally good. Parking can be tricky on a busy night.
The service was not great. We went there after not being there in a very long time. We always go to Nobu or Katsuya. A crab leg roll took 35 minutes to come to our table. Everyone around us was getting their food when we had ordered the crab roll prior to them. Another roll came incorrectly. They were cool about taking a dish off the check that was not great at all. It was a salad that was over dressed and not very crisp. The hearts of palm salad. It just was not something we liked. Unfortunately I think possibly complaining about the salad might have been what made the service bad toward us since this was not our regular spot. That is a shame since we were spending $200. On dinner for 2 adults and a 12 year old without drinks. I think they would have made more of an effort. Because clearly we don’t mind spending money on a regular night out just grabbing some sushi and we live 5 min away. In any event for us its worth the drive to Nobu, Matsuhisa or Katsuya for great sushi, Japanese specials and Rolls. We would rather give our money to them. But that is just our opinion.
Service was awful and the food was mediocre. Too hot inside as well. Will not come back.
Food was good , but service is pretty slow and I had to ask a busboy to get our waitress so we can at least place basic orders.
Shu remains a superb dining experience. I have eaten there several times over a period of years and it never disappoints. Friendly, attentive and relaxed staff while still taking very good care of you. The black cod I had the other night was perfectly cooked.
Let’s just say my fiancé and I don’t go anywhere else for sushi. We are here once a week.
Really great creative sushi. Michelin Star type place but reasonably priced for the quality.
It is my #1 fav place to order amazing sushi.
I really love this place. My local go-to for some of the best sushi, etc in LA. Omakase is always spot on, and there are always some wonderful specials. I'm comfortable dropping in solo for a quick bite after work, or bringing a group of any size for a special dining experience.
We eat a lot of sushi and often. Last night’s meal was the absolute best sushi we have ever had start to finish. Every piece was absolutely delicious.
Our favorite family restaurant!
Great food. Great service. Great meeting! Yummy sushi. Nice presentation. Worth the drive up the hill to meet a buddy.
SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE. FOOD WAS GOOD. THEY NEED TO HIRE MORE WAITERS.
Shu is our go to restaurant in LA for any occasion. Love it!
Consistently good with fantastic Waite staff. A neighborhood gem.
Excellent food and service. Totally unmatched.
Our home for Thursday nights! The food is always excellent and fresh.
Our first time at the restaurant. The food and service were outstanding. Would highly recommend.
Our favorite la sushi restaurant. We go weekly with the teens as a family dinner. Everyone loves it. We also do special occasions here with extended family -birthdays, Mother’s Day, etc
We go to Shu frequently but last night's sushi was over-the-top fantastic! The best sushi bar ever!!!
Was great but really warm in there we were sweating throughout dinner
Rude waiter, never got our shishito peppers but were charged for them. Horrible service.
This is our favorite sushi place of all time. We travel a lot and have sushi wherever we go and while there are good spots, none of them compare to the quality and consistency of SHU! The staff is super accommodating to our every need. Highly recommended!!
