Shaw's is a consistently excellent experience, regardless of location. Food is fresh, well-prepared, and the service is always prompt and efficient. Covid makes all dining a little less personal, but the team in Schaumburg did a great job of serving and caring for us.
Seafood was fresh top quality. Had great mussels; Then opted for the sushi platter.
Key Lime pie was desert and surprisingly excellent. Shaws has it down. Never have had a bad experience there ever.
Our experience was good and our server was attentive and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our experience
We came in without a reservation and were able to be seated at the bar. The bartender was wonderful and attentive. Martinis were delicious and the food wonderful.
Only thing was we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and our server didn’t knowledge our anniversary
Great food and service. We were there for a birthday and were not rushed.
We are outside in the tent. It was very comfortable. The lunches were delivered fast and very tasty! Our server was very efficient!
In all fairness, our lunch date started at an off time 2:00PM, which might explain some of the below expectations experience. I ordered the crusted halibut which came with 5 cherry tomatoes and about 1/16th piece of a raw zucchini. There was an unrecognizable red sauce with very little taste. The fish itself seemed fresh but it too was without taste. It appeared to be dusted with plain white bread crumbs with no seasoning. Not even S & P. Normally, you can't go wrong when ordering the halibut. Not here. Also, my girlfriend's lobster linguini had large pieces of shell in it. The wine and bread were delicious. I'm wondering if the line cook was filling in for the chef because it was mid-afternoon.
Shaw's is a great spot. I wasnt sure what to expect since this is the first time I have been since IL reopened casual dining. Great staff and even better food. Thanks for making a quick family dinner safe and enjoyable.
Our waitress is the best!!
Great customer service
Everything was great once we were seated. We had reservations. And I understand that things are a bit slower now with Covid, but while we were waiting for our table (15-20 min wait), 3 other parties walked in, also with reservations, and they were sat immediately. So that was the only downside. Was having to wait even while having a reservation. But otherwise VERY good.
Food was not real hot and overpriced but overall experience was good.
Overall, we had a wonderful evening and the food was delicious.
However, when 1 chilled crab claw is $28 and a 6oz filet and 4oz lobster is $75, it's a bit overpriced for what you get.
Sea scallops were the best I've ever had. 1 martini each and 2 crème brulle $300.
It was my friends birthday and we are both gluten free. We saw the menu indicated which dishes were gluten free. However I asked the waiter where was the gluten in the char glazed swordfish and he explained the glaze had gluten. My friend asked about the halibut and he said he was coated in Panko breadcrumbs. The waiter said he would ask the kitchen if they could prepare both dishes without glaze and breadcrumbs. He came back and said yes. Then he asked if we wanted spinach or lemon butter. We each said lemon butter. When we were served each dish had fish with spinach on the side. She had a lemon wedge on her plate. None on mine. No lemon butter either. Not the sides the menu described. For her it was cherry tomatoes, baby zucchini and tomato vinaigrette; mine was shaved Brussels sprouts, apple slices, currant and Marcona almonds. None of those sides have gluten. However, the fish without Lemon butter and cold spinach that was not even sautéed looked like the kind of meal that would be served prior to a hospital stay. We were shocked looking at our hospital food. I asked the food runner where’s our sides and the mashed potatoes we ordered. He came back with the sides and eventually our mashed potatoes. It was a very disappointing meal for both of us. I’ve been to the downtown Shaw’s countless times and expected the same quality and service in Schaumburg. After the whole gluten disaster the waiter comes and asks if we’d like chocolate cake or key lime pie for dessert. I reminded him we are gluten free.
A great place for those that love fresh, quality seafood!
We overall satisfied with this experience and planning to comeback for Thanksgiving.
I’ve eaten at Shaw’s for many years while in Chicago for business or pleasure. I made my reservation and added in the notes that this was our 34th Wedding Anniversary dinner. The service was mediocre at best. No one at our table of 4 said that their food was “really good”. My halibut was barely warm and somewhat dry. My wife’s NY Strip was somewhat tasteless. The salmon was decent as was my sons seafood combo platter. I expected our waiter to acknowledge our anniversary but that never happened. I’m guessing because the girls at the entry were more worried about their cell phones than the customers. Most disappointing trip ever to Shaw’s.
Safety measures in place and great service and excellent food
Recently had lunch on the patio. The food was exceptional and wonderful service. Always a treat to eat at Shaw’s.
The serving portions were for a child. Literally 3 scallops, 3 shrimp, 1 crab cake. My petite filet was dry. Server had no time for us and got a huge tip just because the bill was astronomical. It was out wedding anniversary, I let restaurant know, yet not even a well wish from any staff. We won't go back.
Hot delicious food!
Friendly wait staff!
Enough room between tables.
Enjoyed our 20th anniversary dinner at Shaw's in Schaumburg and the service was outstanding. In the age of Covid-19, it's hard to find a good restaurant that takes necessary precautions to keep us safe. They took our temperatures and had us all well spaced out. We were provided two space heaters to keep us warm which was a great job. The food was also very warm when it came out and incredibly delicious. The service was great despite the additional length they had to travel from the kitchen. They really strived to give us the best service they could under the circumstances. I will definitely return. The lobster linguine was delicious as was the crème brulee!
Outdoor patio set up nicely but adjacent to parking lot
No other options but not as nice as indoor dining. Patio heaters work and stayed comfortable. Great food and service.
Service was exceptionally slow. We waited for our wine glasses to be refilled and our bottle was at the bar. Drinks ordered never made it to the table, dessert wasn’t offered
Can’t beat the best raw oysters in the Midwest! The outdoor dining is perfect!
The lunchtime special was delicious and filling.
We dined outside and the ambiance is good. It was a beautiful evening, and there were heaters to make sure we were comfortable. The food was good, even though my husband's steak came overdone. But they promptly brought another. We have returned to Shaw's many times.
Seafood trio was delicious. Alaskan king crab was also delicious and a nice size portion. The warm rolls they serve were fantastic.
Always a nice place to have lunch or a great dinner!
Wines are expensive by the bottle and there should be some in the $30 - $40 dollar range
Never a disappointment! Even during Covid, great food. Went during Lettuce Restaurant week and the choices were great. Can't wait to go back!
Restaurant week lunch menu was delicious and such a good value! Perfect amount of food for lunchtime! Had caesar salad, lobster rolls and creme brulee - dreaming of eating that all again :)
Server wasn't great - constantly looking around for drink refills and to pay the bill. Otherwise outstanding meal!
Shaw’s never disappoints .
Wait staff and food were both excellent! Social distancing was in full effect there and I get comfortable dining there.
Was excited to try this place and was sadly underwhelmed. The decor could be updated, service was good, food less than stellar especially for the cost. This was for a special night and when you are paying close to $200 for a meal for two I expect the food to melt in your mouth and the best part of our meals at a seafood restaurant was the brussel sprouts sadly!
Prices were reasonable. Thought food portions were kind of small. Overall nice experience.
We were overall disappointed with our experience. The waiter seemed as if we were a bother. This was supposed to be a birthday celebration and no candles were included with our dessert as the table next to us had their celebration with candles. Simply disappointed.
Overall everything was good, but I think it's overpriced.
I had the shrimp scallops and crab cake . Started off with a stone crab claw that was delicious. My shrimp had to much garlic. Scallops were gritty. Crab cake was quite tasty. I’m not a huge crab cake fan but this has changed my opinion. Wives lobster fettuccine was good it ifim going to spend close to three hundred dollars on a meal I expect better. They compt my dessert and also a couple pieces of chocolate cake that was better than aver. Apple cobbler was very good. Service was delightful and prompt.
