Our server Angel was stellar. Drinks were offered immediately. Angel did not rush us to order.
Food and service was excellent
SHAW'S SEAFOOD IS ALWAYS FRESH AND DELICIOUS...WE DO THINK THEIR PRICES ARE A
BIT HIGH BUT FOR AN OCCASIONAL SEAFOOD MEAL IT'S WORTH IT
Brunch was exquisite - food choices abundant. More subdued diners.
The Sunday brunch was bar none! Too many delicious items to name!
Very noisy with many loud parties in the dining room. Made for a stressful evening.
We had a wonderful time. The service was excellent and the food was delicious.
Another great dining experience at Shaw's in Schaumburg. Service considerably better than my last visit which only warranted a 2 star rating. This time, it's up to 4 with the only hiccup being the server forgot one of our sides. Otherwise, it was a fine time by all of us.
We dreamt about returning to Shaws for seafood, so we made sure that we stopped in the area on our cross country trip. The restaurant did not disappoint. This time we had the swordfish and combination shellfish plate, and both were delicious. The quality of the food was excellent and highly fresh. We love the atmosphere, and the staff is always professional. I don’t know of any other restaurant in the Chicago area that has better seafood. Highly recommended for locals and visitors.
Excellent food and service - always wonderful!
Great service, great food.
I ordered the stuffed lobster. The blue crab stuffing was amazing, but the lobster tasted like dirty dishwater. I ended up not eating the lobster because it smelled so bad and just ate the crab.
Excellent food and service!!
We were excited to try this restaurant but left very disappointed, not only in the food, but the service.
We were looking for an appetizer that didn’t have shellfish (my son is allergic) and the server recommended one that she said was made with tuna and guacamole. What she failed to mention was that the tuna was raw, so three of the 6 guests who don’t like raw fish couldn’t even try it. We couldn’t even comment to our server about the appetizer as she was nowhere to be seen.
Disappearing seemed to be normal for the server. The only way to get her attention was to ask someone to find her. She never came to check that everything was ok after our meals came, and never checked if we needed refills. Everyone ate their meal and we had to ask someone to find her to finally get refills.
As for the meals, the Halibut was over cooked and dried. The two lobster rolls very disappointing. No taste, wet, and so small. Sad to say you can get a lobster roll that gives at least 3 times more lobster and tastes so much better from Kelly’s Roast Beef and Seafood (fast food restaurant.) The quality of what you offer is very lacking. My husband who is a fish lover ordered the red snapper. He was disappointed and thought it was just ok. My son ordered the swordfish and loved that. My other son ordered chicken which he said was ok but when they brought his Caesar salad they forgot to put dressing on it.
Very disappointing for a $330+ bill. We did not leave what we would normally leave for a tip, and I hope the server realizes it’s not because we don’t tip well, but it was the quality of her service that was reflected in her tip.
I don’t know what happened to them but this time was terrible. The service was slow. The buffet was missing at least 2 main dishes and 2 sides. The tenderloin was cold. I am sorry I went.
The lobster roll was good, as was the seafood salad. We also enjoyed the maki rolls. But the best part of the dining experience was the service of Mike. He was knowledgeable and he was attentive.
Although we were disappointed that the on-line menu was incorrect and soft shell crab wasn’t available, our server Michael was so helpful in choosing a replacement. Everything was prepared and presented perfectly. And Michael timed appetizer, entree and dessert just as my husband likes it. Delightful dinner!
Outstanding food and service. We enjoyed our dinner and Steve, our server, couldn't have been nicer. He offered great advise on wine.
The entire experience was great. We will be back!!
Server James was great and manager Audi made the extra effort. My moms birthday was a great one and true whole family enjoyed and appreciated everything.
We ate early at 5:30 and it was very quiet. However, given the number of tables it might be some what noisy later. It was our anniversary and from the moment we arrived several of the staff mentioned it. This is a first for us as normally only one or two people know or you have to remind them. Food was excellent, however, the menu listed online was for the downtown restaurant and the items were different at Schaumburg. Adults were dressed appropriately, however, several of the young people with them left much to be desired. Since the restaurant also has a casual side, we would recommend some guidelines be posted for customers and enforced.
Went during August Lobster Fest and it was awesome!
Great seafood. I have been eating at Shaw's for more than 30 years.
This restaurant seems tired on all levels- service, food and ambiance. Given the premium prices and the LEY brand, the poor experience is surprising.
My garlic shrimp appetizer had off tastes in sauce- I did not finish it as it seemed the shrimp was past freshness. Sushi roll was fine though no ginger or wasabi was included- plating was dull.
The server was friendly enough but bumbled trying to get the bill charged and asked for another credit card because their machine could not chip read. Very odd.
I will not go back- a rare Lettuce Entertain you restaurant fail.
Outstanding lobster tacos!
Service was excellent as always but portions and size of the seafood seem to be getting smaller. We had the cold seafood tower and the lobster, clams and oysters were all on the small side, and the dinner halibut portion was also lacking in size for the price charged. Food was delicious, service outstanding but value was the one that we were a bit disappointed in. We have been patrons of Shaw's for a long time, particularly at the Chicago branch. Thank you,
Server was wonderful very helpful. They even gave us dessert for free since we were celebrating our anniversary. Love coming here. :)
We have been to Shaw's many times, and it's always been a favorite. Our visit this week, a birthday dinner on a Sunday night, was a total disappointment. Our server was borderline nonexistent. We didn't see him from the time he took our order until the time he dropped off the dessert menu. It took 15 minutes to get our first drink and 15 minutes to pay the bill. When he showed up, I said, "It's good to see you." He said it was a very busy night, which was not true because the dining room was half empty. It's that he took too many tables. By the time he had his 6th table (I was counting to try to figure out what he was doing while he wasn't taking care of us), we knew he was just out for the tips. He handed my husband the check without a word and quickly came back to get the credit card. I told him to wait, that we were members and had scratch-off points to collect. He wrote down the four-digit number for double points, but he did not put it into the register. I kept waiting, checking the app to see that the points were given, and they weren't. Finally, I had to put in a complaint to the app, and finally got them. The only person doing any work that night was the busman. Also, the potatoes au gratin were brown--they had been sitting all day. This was a $200 birthday dinner, and we deserved better.
We made reservations for the Sunday Brunch. We enjoyed every bite! The service was wonderful. The restaurant was quiet. The brunch selections were spot on. The crab legs served were wonderful. We will definitely return for another visit for the Sunday Brunch. Hoping to have dinner there as well. Thank you LEYE for providing such wonderful restaurants and making your diners feel special. They are by far my favorite group of restaurants to dine at.
My parents and I came here for brunch for the first time to celebrate a birthday and the experience was unbelievable! We felt welcomed immediately as we walked through the door and all of the staff remained friendly - our waiter even hung around and had a short conversation with us, which made him very personable. The food was also amazing and did not disappoint at all. Everything was fantastic from the sushi, the hot plates, the desserts, and, of course, the crab legs! Additionally, I was happy when our waiter brought out the celebratory dessert for my mom without me having to ask or signal. He remained attentive and engaged to ensure our table was clear whenever we finished a dish, that we had enough water and beverages, and that we were satisfied with our experience. I would definitely recommend this place and would love to visit it once again. Thank you for this great time!
Outstanding food and service!
Celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary at Shaws. We had a reservation and we were promptly seated. Our server was very attentive and made great wine recommendations. Enjoyed a variety of seafood and drinks. It was a great experience and cannot wait until our next visit.
We made last-minute reservations (30 min prior) for our anniversary lunch this weekend. Having never been on a Saturday afternoon, I wasn’t sure how busy they would be or if a reservation was needed. Fortunately, as soon as we walked in, we were greeted by two friendly hostesses, who asked for our names, and if there was a special occasion. We told them it was our anniversary to which they had a quiet booth waiting for us in a small room by ourselves.
The waitress was friendly and knowledgable of the menu. We started with oysters, which is a MUST when you dine at Shaw’s. My husband ordered the Maryland style crab cake platter with a gummy apocalypse beer which paired perfectly. The cake was loaded with crab and minimal filler. I ordered the Shaw’s signature chopped seafood salad with a Sant’Anna Pinot Grigio paired perfectly as well. There was an ample amount of seafood, and this salad can easily be two meals. As we went to ask for the check, our waitress brought out complimentary mini dessert platter (with four desserts), and a mini glass of champagne with a raspberry. I highly recommend Shaw’s if you are looking to have a delicious meal in a quiet ambiance. We will certainly be back soon!
Great food and service. Love going to Shaw’s
This place is simply the best! Highly recommended!!!!!!!!!
Service was mediocre I’m not sure if it was because we sat on the bar side but it’s usually better and faster on the dining side. Our tab was at $900 mostly in champagne bottles 🥳... they ran out of regular valves so they did take care of us by giving us a LaGrande Dane bottle for the same price which was nice.
I did however get frustrated when I asked one of the workers for a fork they told me I already had one sitting on the table instead of going to get one... Henderson that one was dirty..
Great food.knowledgeable server. Excellent wine list and server knew the wines
Expensive yet not to fancy. Waiter was wearing jeans, he was super nice, food was tasty, atmosphere was pretty good, price tag was high.
First time diner at Shaw’s. Reservation honored promptly, Menu diverse with many sea and some land choices. Garlic Shrimp appetizer overwhelmed with bread crumbs and garlic and the shrimp were still babies.Baked Potato huge and fair priced at $8.00. Friends enjoyed the Tuna while others also had the small shrimp dish. Overall, not great with lot of choices in the Woodfield area to choose from.
Went to Shaw’s for theirSunday Brunch to celebrate Gram’s birthday. Everything from service to food to ambience was outstanding!
