Seoul Jung - Waikiki Resort Hotel
A shop that always visits Waikiki.
The menu has changed a little, but the service has not changed and the cost performance is great.
The food did not taste fresh; seems that specialize in hot pot, where you cook. Ordering off the menu was risky.
Thanks for dining with us, SeymourW. I'm glad you enjoyed the hot pot. I'm so sorry that some of the menu items were not up to par. We are continually working hard to improve and I hope you'll give us another chance in the future. Thanks again!
We were rushed. Food looked good but wasn’t. It was difficult to understand the waitress and the wine was not what I had requested.
Thank you for dining with us, IsabelK. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. Please accept my sincere apology for the inconsistent service you received. I'm so sorry we let you down, but rest assured we are using your feedback to improve and I hope you'll give us another chance in the future. Mahalo
Authentic Korean Galbi, and other dishes, with just a hint of American "toned down" vibe - meaning not quite as spicy or flavorful as authentic Korean food - but still excellent and no waiting for a table!
I had been to what is now known as Seoul Jung 30 years ago when it was known as Camellia Restaurant. Although the ambiance is better now, the food has gone down. There is hardly any value to what you pay for. For the same price, I would have been more sated at Yu-Chun on Kapiolani Blvd. The food is not very flavorful, and the menu rather limited. I will not be returning.
Aloha and thank you for dining with us at Seoul Jung in the Waikiki Resort Hotel. We appreciate you remembering us after all these years. I'm glad you enjoyed the ambiance, but I'm disappointed that the flavor was not to your liking. Our dishes, and in particular the chef's specials, usually receive high marks from reviewers. I wish we would have known about this at the time because we would've loved to prepare something special just for you. I hope you give us another shot!
Authentic Korean food. Patrons are mostly Korean. Servings are large. Wait staff very helpful.
We had 2 different dishes. We had the Kalbi and the Moolnaengmyun. It was all really good. The Naengmyun hit the spot because it was hot and humid all day long.
Thank you for the wonderful review. I'm so glad you enjoyed our tasty dishes. Please come back and dine with us again soon. Mahalo
Not quite what yelp reviews stated but overall we enjoyed ourselves. We didn't get one dish that we ordered and after much contemplating with the staff they took it off the bill. Want to go back and try their yakiniku. Their english speaking if very limited so be prepared for that.
Thank you for dining with us and taking the time to share your experience. I apologize for the mix-up with your order. I can assure you this isn't the norm. But I'm glad we were able to take care of that for you and I'm thrilled to hear that you're planning to try our all-you-can-eat yakiniku. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Fairly quiet. Came for a quick business lunch and sat at those amazing looking long wood tables. Had the galbi gim (sp?) Which came in a stone pot and was boiling still. Yikes. I've been here a few times now and so far have not been disappointed. I've been pretty disappointed with Korean food in Hawaii but I'm glad to say this place was very pleasantly surprising. The spicy butterfish has just the right amount of spicy sweetness. Galbi is so soft. Will continue to dine here when I can. Prices do seem a bit higher, but it's Waikiki and the food and portions are worth it for me. Any time we needed anything the servers were quick with getting what we needed. Our waters kept getting topped off even before they were half empty. I really liked the tea they give as well. I mix it with the cold water to make it lukewarm. Seaweed soup has bits of meat in it instead of the clams or mussels - a taste I way more prefer. Also, they validate for 3 hours! Worth it in my opinion.
Got yukhoe today. It's like a sweet raw beef tartare with apples or something. Brought a friend to try their food and she also loved it! Definitely my favorite place to have lunch in Waikiki.
Food was great! For the price, I ordered serving for one combo of "YAKINIKU", was so much food.
Taste great and also, other ala carte menus were very good.
Service was prompt and server was very attentive.
Thanks for dining with us, Panda! It sounds like you really enjoyed the Seoul Jung experience. Next time you should try our Big Bone "Dino" Kalbi. It's one of our specialties that I'm sure you will love!
Seat outside, not inside where the grills are, if want quieter experience. Some servers are much nicer. Overall really good food & value!
Seoul Jung was absolutely delicious! The Kalbi Beef and Bulgogi were simply scrumptious and savory. The ambiance was basic and ordinary and not a new modern restaurant whatsoever. However, the dishes are what this place is all about and the all the rage! The staff were very friendly and extremely accommodating. This spot is a hidden gem that I will return to upon my return to Waikiki!
一緒に食事をしてくれてありがとう。 あなたの基準を満たしていないのが残念です 多くのお客様が本格的な韓国料理を楽しんでいます。 また機会がありますように。
Waikiki was crowded and they sat 14 of us immediately. Hidden gem off the main road. Food was great.
Thanks for the wonderful review! I'm so glad you enjoyed our authentic Korean cuisine. We look forward to seeing you again.
Did the dolsot bibimbap today. Warning: it is HOT! Really had to give it time to cool down before I could eat it. The presentation was beautiful though! So glad my coworkers keep bringing me here. Hahaha.
My first time here, I was brought by some co-workers. I was prepared to be severely disappointed but was very pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. Will definitely return when I can. A bit pricey, but the portions were large and we also got extra food than what I ordered. They gave me a soup and we all shared the side dishes. They also gave refills on them! I liked the lotus root the best.
My wife loves the Bibimbap at Seoul Jung. It's a bit expensive compared to some of the cheaper Korean restaurants around town, but the quality of the food at Seoul Jung was well-worth it. We usually come during lunch for the special value lunch menu. Plenty of small dishes/appetizers and bibimbap was excellent as usual. We booked last minute through Opentable and to our surprise, there was a table reserved for us when we arrived. Our waitress was attentive and food service was chop chop. We highly recommend Seoul Jung to spice up any romance! :)
Thanks for the wonderful feedback! We truly appreciate your business and your enthusiasm in recommending Seoul Jung. Please come back and dine with us again soon.
Food is not too bad but ambience is horrible and for a two star hotel that it’s in
Barbara, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. You'll be happy to know that we've recently taken steps to improve the ambiance here at Seoul Jung. I hope you get a chance to return and let us know what you think. Thanks again for your feedback.
Went there for the yakiniku!
Great value and price!
Thanks so much for the great review! The all-you-can-eat yakiniku surely is an awesome value - one of our most popular offerings. Thanks again for choosing Seoul Jung. See you next time!
Amazing time as always! I always go to SJ for lunch.
Great food all the time.
This reservation was cancelled no need to ask for review
They should put on some background music to kill the silence...it’s library quiet in there
set courses at back of menu are the way to go
The service here was fast and friendly, we ordered the seafood pancake, sliced kalbi, butterfish, and chop chae....it was so good! The portions are pretty big too. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I would recommend Seoul Jung to my friends and family.
Amazing food, service, and location! The place I had originally wanted to take my clients had closed suddenly, but luckily I was able to secure reservations for Seoul Jung.
The food came out fast, sizzling, and HOT! (I got the "Do Sal Bi Bim Bap") and my business partner got the Kal Bi.
Service was kind, courteous, and warming. From the moment I met the hostess to the time my order was taken. The management seems to pay attention as I see the floor manager checking up on patrons around.
Overall, can't wait to go back!
This is a hidden gem. Food was amazing and it just kept coming. Make sure you let them know you are kama'aina. One of our new local favorites!!
Very tasty Korean food. When we ate there, the place was crowded and as folk left, others came in so they were always busy. As the majority of the customers appeared to be Korean, or of another Asian background, and for much of our time we were the only Caucasians in the restaurant, we are sure that they provide genuine Korean food, prepared by Korean chefs. The Manager was very friendly, and when we had a couple of questions of the waitress, who couldn't really understand what we were asking, he quickly came over to chat with us.
An excellent restaurant for authentic Korean cuisine!
As a local resident I wanted to try Authentic Korean Food and to my surprise it was really good.
They gave a lot of food and the service was fast. The staff was very helpful when making my menu selection.
I would recommend Seoul Jung to my family and friends, even our out of town guest.
Best Korean restaurant in Waikiki! Many new dishes on the new menu. As usual the food comes out fast and hot. The LA Kalbi is the best around. Friendly service. I will be back.
Online menu does not match in house menu, was frustrating to figure this out after having sat down and started our appetizer order. No seafood available whatsoever.
I went this restaurant several time and I enjoyed their food and service.
But I was disappointed their service this time.
I have not received 100points from this visit yet.
Love coming here for our semi-annual authentic Korean meal in Waikiki!
The food is authentic and the service is amazing. Great place for a peaceful meal away from the crowds in Waikiki!
Food was tasty. One lady was very friendly but other one was not.
I mentioned I made reservation from Opentable but I was told they couldn't find my name. This situation was second time.
We paid by friend's credit card so I don't know I get the point.
Excellent Korean cuisine! Must have the Sundubu and the Black Cod (Butterfish). Dishes comes out quickly so the sizzling platters are still sizzling and the stews are still boiling. Great service too.
Best tasting, most authentic Korean Food!
