The food was fantastic. We had the fattoush salad and lamb burger , it was a lot of food but very tasty. We had enough room for the coffee flan which was superb and not to be missed no matter how full you are. There was terrible music blaring from the private room and it ruined dinner. It was just out of character for a nice med dinner. Unlikely to go back despite the good food.
Good food, good service and a pleasant experience over all.
Great service by David. Food was awesome
Amazing food and have a very special night overall
The service at the bar was great. The bartender didn't make me pay for my iced tea separately from my meal (I got there early so I had iced tea at the bar while waiting), which is rare for a restaurant to do (at least in my experience bartenders generally close your bar tab.) A nice, thoughtful gesture overall.
I had lunch at 1 PM. The restaurant was LOUD, like really, really LOUD. It was kind of a terrible spot to meet and talk.
If you go here and have the time, try to avoid the lunch rush. Or bring earplugs.
As for my order, I got the lamb burger and it was oh so GOOD! You can tell they use high-quality ground lamb. Just come hungry because it's a decent portion, but you will be satisfied. Go Meat!
This was a good option for lunch however not an expansive menu for sure. I really enjoyed the paella as it was prepared very well.
Waitress was very helpful.
Great atmosphere and ambiance. The food is always 5 star
My wife & I out went out tonight to celebrate a special event! Sens is nearby & haven’t been there in a few years...
Like most REVIEWS below & my past 2 visits for dinner, food generally good, but tonight, HORRIBLE service after our Server DISAPPEARED (we found out later that the never seen Manager sent him home early as the restaurant was not busy) & COOKING not to order, $45 way overpriced ribeye steak WAY OVERCOOKED (yep, medium-rare ordered steak brought WELL DONE...no pink, ALL GRAY)! Couldn’t find our or any Server or busboy x 3-4 mins to alert them. So we both just sat & waited. One person can’t really eat & enjoy their meal when the other person’s dinner uneatable or missing. Then, busboy is flagged down & comes over & says about “6 MINUTES” to re-cook new steak...after 10-15 mins, a way bigger & now “medium” steak bought...but we shared my OVER-COOKED & a TAD DRY chicken entree while waiting so full enough. Took re-done steak home...
Yet another special & expensive dinner RUINED by a bad cook & absent Server or Manager not watching or really caring about the biz!
Fatal in today’s SF restaurant world. Lotza empty tables on Sat 9-10pm as well, only 2 tables near us with customers, one with 8 college girls celebrating a Bday & another table with 20-25 mixed couples also celebrating a Bday. 3 tables only can’t be served well by 10+ front of house staff, with about 10 cooks? Come on.
Beautiful bright ambiance. Attentive but respectful service. Great fresh and health food selection.
Good drinks, nice ambiance with the ferry building and bridge views! Octopus was awesome
Fun place. The service was a bit slow though our waitress was very nice. It’s pretty loud in the main dining room. I think it’s best for parties.
Waitress almost non existent, limited knowledge of area and never offered to assist/find out for us
Food at lunch was quite good, but noise level was very loud.
The view and the lamb burger is the reason we went. Nice ambience, but burger was just so so, a little dry and lacking flavor, compared to how I remember it years ago there. But hummus / pita and wine were very good. Although they charged an extra $2.00 for one more piece of pita (they only give you one piece for a bowl of hummus for $8.00 total - sort of a rip off). Ambience as usual was very nice, but very dark so you could not read the menu. I would go again if I was in town for sure or for special occasion, but I live far, and would probably would not go out of my way to return just for dinner.
Nice restaurant, good food and service. Shrimp appetiser was amazing and the coffee flan delicious. We had paella as main course and it was good, but it would have been better if the chicken would be skipped. Will definitely go there again if I ever go back to San Francisco.
I eat at al lot of nice restaurants and this was one of the best meals I have ever had. The duck meatballs were amazing and the paella....pure heaven! So. Very. Good. Thanks much!
I’ve been here before but for such a slow night service was at glacier speed really sad when so many staff working.
I've been to Sens twice now. Love the view, the food and the service!
Great venue, but the service and the food were less than stellar especially for the price. No one at the table, except for the person who had the salmon, commented positively on the taste of the meals or the appetizers. Everything was just mediocre. Even the butternut squash soup wasn't very good, so she left the entire bowl after tasting it.
At first, the waiter wouldn't leave us alone. We no sooner sat down and he wanted to take our orders. Once our food arrived though, he never came back to the table until he asked for dessert and coffee orders. At no time during the meal did he ask about the food, so no one volunteered any feedback. Oh, and $16.00 for one, 4 oz pour of Prosecco that was average at best and the only choice by the glass on the menu! Don't mind paying for quality but the cost didn't match the quality of anything we had.
They did bring a dessert to the table for the five of us to share and a tiny scoop of ice cream for each of us as we were celebrating a birthday - a very nice touch.
If you are looking for average to below average food with a good view and location, this is your place.
The paella was 70% rice and very little shrimps and meat. Service slow and the restaurant was no busy. To charge $6 for a hot tea , really?????
Gave this place another chance after poor service a few days back. They came through like champs. As always, the food was excellent, wait staff was very nice and it was totally a five-star performance. See you soon Sens!
There were a few groups already there so it was pretty boisterous and busy. However, the staff came around quickly and took our drink order and then meal order. They were all friendly and professional. We had the Patoosh (sp?) salad and brussels sprouts appetizers which were excellent and then split the Paella, which was also fantastic. I would certainly go back.
Had a reservation and requested a window table. Instead got a table next to the kitchen. Worst table in the place
The food here is amazing. Everything we ordered was perfectly prepared and delicious.
The location was ideal and the atmosphere was fun and upbeat.
Excellent food, location and service. Would recommend to everyone to try. We had beer salad, octupus, cream salmon in jar with toast and shrimp aguillo. Can't wait to go back to try other plates.
Great, as always!
It was amazing! I had the best experience and food was delicious
Fantastic food - my wife and son both had the lamb burger, and I had the scallops. As a lover of scallops I can tell you I have never had scallops this good. They were huge and perfectly seared. Tender and still juicy, the scallops were amazing and well worth the cost. I also had part of my wife’s lamb burger and it was delicious. Basically a Kefta burger it well seasoned nicely and tender. I would definitely order it again. I also ordered the Smoke and Mirrors mixed drink and it was delicious. The bartender is very adept at creating balanced delicious drinks that pair well with all of the entrees. We stay at the Hyatt next door occasionally and will definitely eat here in the future.
Sens is such a wonderful experience. I went for lunch on Thursday afternoon and ended up coming back with coworkers on Friday because it was that great. Our server, Gilberto, served us both days and was perfect. The manager, Irving, remembered me from the day before as well and made sure we were taken care of. Not to mention, the ambiance and gorgeous view of the bay bridge was really the icing on the cake. I will definitely be making this my regular spot! - Jessie
Too noisy! Cannot return because we went hoarse trying to communicate. Not for a business dinner if you want to get something Accomplished!
Our server was attentive and everything was delicious.
The food was amazing! We ordered the pork chop and ribs and it was on point. We were seated a table where we were facing the Bay Bridge at dinner time and we just couldn’t help to admire the food and the beauty SFO has to offer. Thanks Sens for another great dinner! Highly recommend.
Really good service and food is delicious, just a little noisy environment
Food was really expensive, yet mediocre in quality. In SF, mediocre food at that price point is inexcusable. Amazing view though!
Hosted a business lunch there and my guest was very impressed with the views of the Ferry building and the Bay Bridge. The food was delicious (Lamb burger... sure to get the egg on top) and the service was top notch.
Very good service and value for what we paid.
Food prep was below average in taste and presentation. Fatoush salad was good.
Everything was delicious...lamb burger tender and tasty, fries perfectly cooked. Crisp salads with real grilled chicken. Incredible view. A hidden gem.
