The service was impeccable, the food outstanding and the ambiance inviting. The only reason to consider returning is the PRICE. My husband and I do not drink and only had ice water with our meal, so alcohol was not a factor in the total. $175 before the 20%tip making it $210.
We have been coming here for a few years now and the food is always wonderful! The only thing I would complain about is that we were seated about 20 minutes after our reservation time and there were a few open tables. Besides that, everything was perfect! This visit was for our anniversary and such a great place for that!
Arrived at 8:15 for a 8:30 reservation. We were advised that there was a party of 65 that running behind and we would not be seated until 8:30 or a little after. This was no issue. Went to the bar area to get a drink while waiting for our table. The bar area was very busy due to several people eating at the bar. So this caused multiple failed attempts to flag down a bar tender. This was due to the bar being full, lack of staff awareness and the piano player standing at one end of the bar that would normally be the only open spot for someone to walk up to the bar to order a drink when every bar stool is taken. You can’t very easily lean in around a person that is eating at the bar to get the attention of the the bar tender. Anyway, our table was ready only about 10 minutes after our reservation time. If I had been served a drink during my wait, all would have been great. But still, No big deal. Ok, so now seated at the table to get ready for a wonderful meal. And now we wait. We watch a waiter doing a steak Diane for another table.... this is entertaining, but we have not been greeted, given water, no drink order, nothing. About 10 minutes or so after being seated the waiter that did the stake Diane came by and gave us a very quick greeting, asked if we would like tap or bottled water, dropped off and iPad for my wife and I to review the drink and wine list, took our teenage children’s drink requests and left. A few moments later we got our water and the kids drinks. A manager also stopped by and apologized for our wait because the waiter was doing the table side serving. No problem, but getting a little impatient at this point. Then the wife and I review the drink and wine list, decide what we want and sit at the table and wait... nothing. Another 10 plus minutes go by. Now we have been seated for 25 minutes and our drink order had not even been taken. We left... Very disappointing and embarrassing. I picked this place for my wife’s birthday. Ugh... good job.
We missed seeing Bob and there were new faces about but the food and service were outstanding as always.
This restaurant is one of the those rare venues where you know it’s something different as soon as you walk in. From the made-for-you Caesar salad to the perfectly cooked filet mignon and the unbelievable bananas foster (also cooked at your table) the food was incredible. Add to that real personal service makes it one of one on my list of places to go when you want to reward yourself or that special someone. You will not be disappointed.
It was a wonderful night with refreshing cocktails, amazing service, and mouth-watering food. We enjoyed every bit of our night!
Awesome! When ever you want the best steak around, this is the restaurant!!
I have lived here for 30 years. Segars is the best restaurant on the Emerald Coast, hands down.
Having dined in fine dining restaurants all over the world we found Seagars lacked finess on many levels. My lobster bisque was just warm. The Dover sole was delicious but we had to take home half of the meal. Portions obviously catered for the USA market as we’re all courses first time ever we have been offered a take home meal from this calibrate restaurant. Although their website states a dress code most guests were in holiday attire.
We had a large party of 8. My Seared Grouper was bland however the wilted spinach and potatoes that were part of my entree were very good. Everyone else thoroughly enjoyed their food. The cocktails, dessert and service were outstanding. I was disappointed in the Grouper but that will not keep me from going back because other than that, it was a great evening.
"I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The Seafood Tower was incredible. The table was made up of 8 Birthday girls. The captain of our table was excellent! Everyone loved their choices. The steak was divine and the Grouper was off the chart. Service was well-timed and friendly! Wonderful way to celebrate friends birthdays!
We were super excited about the table side Ceasar salad, we are seasoned veterans of such and as it is a lost art really hoped for a good one.....sadly all the pomp and circumstance did not live up to anything we have enjoyed in the past, they used ROASTED GARLIC, unheard of and made it very sweet. Lump crab appetizer ended being more fried green tomato appetizer, Dover sole was on point, can't really muck that up. Bread service was held until one ordered even though we had ordered wine, and the bread was two small pieces of stale sweet baguette. An expensive disappointment.......
Chef Vargo and the staff do a great job. The food is quality and a great wine list. First class.
I would suggest this restaurant for everything you expect in fine dining. I eat at fine restaurants around this country and this restaurants exceeds all expectations.
We dined here for our anniversary and it was a wonderful experience. The service was top notch and the food was absolutely amazing. I had the filet and it was one of the best steaks I’ve had. My husband had the red snapper which was also delicious. Overall, we had a wonderful evening and will definitely dine at Seagar’s again.
I was very thankful for the confirmation phone call earlier in the day.
The staff were all very friendly and pleasant.
Menu had a very nice mix of variety for all palettes.
Nothing made it stand out and made it any different then any other steakhouse.
We were very underwhelmed by our experience here. For the price, the food was mediocre at best. For being such a highly rated restaurant I was expecting top notch service as well. We did not get that either. We went for our one year anniversary dinner and we were very disappointed overall.
Our waiter Chris was superb. Very attentive and knowledgeable.
This is the best restaurant I’ve ever been to. I’ve never had a better steak. The chef is amazing. The menu has a nice variety of seafood and steak. The service is unmatched and it’s the perfect place for a special occasion.
Excellent food , wonderful staff we love this place ! I asked my fiancé to marry me at dinner last year and it too nontch
Out experience was exceptional! Definitely will return!!!
Went there for our anniversary. Patrick, our head waiter was excellent in explaining all the menu options and the extensive wine list. He and his associates were always there pouring the next sip of wine and clearing the dishes. Not the cheapest place in town but certainly one of the best.
VERY DISAPPOINTING FROM THE TABLE, THE WAITER, THE FOOD....BRING BACK MY CAPTAIN BOB.....TWO THUMBS DOWN!
The food, service, wine list and everything was just outstanding. A dinner that will be remembered for many years.
Amazing service and great food. Recommend for a date night, special occasion with or without the kids. A+ every time!!
We went to Seagars after seeing good reviews online. The best thing about our meal was the ceaser salad. We both thought our steaks were flavorless. The service was subpar for the cost of the meal. Waited over 15 minutes for water with empty glasses. My husband told the sever that he’d like to order a glass of wine when it was time for our food to arrive. The server never came back to the table to ask what kind of wine he’d like to order. We ordered creamed spinach and it was tasteless. Also ordered twice baked potato. We thought it was just okay. We will not go back. It was disappointing
We were celebrating a big anniversary, and we could not have asked for a more perfect dinner and service!!! Absolutely outstanding!!!
Excellent food and Chris is best waiter anywhere. Very attentive but doesn’t hover. Get him to prepare something table side.
Good food. Great ambiance - service could have been speedier, but otherwise, everything was very good.
Everything was excellent, as always. Service, food, atmosphere, al A+.
We love Seagar's! The food is fantastic and the atmosphere and service are first class. One of our favorites on the Emerald Coast.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, service was right on time every time!
Wonderful restaurant. Been coming here for a long time. Always consistent. Great wait staff. Everything in the menu is great. Chauteaubriand, Crab Napoleon, Caesar salad, peaches foster., the lobster! Expensive but worth it.
Absolutely delicious! EVERYTHING is fantastic!!!!!
This place is the best restaurant on the Emerald Coast. Period. The only comment that I’d like to give is that it took a little longer than what I am used to to place my order for food. Service is very accommodating but I think they were a little more busy than usual this visit. It’s speedy and for special occasions but totally worth every penny. It’s worth the trip.
Always outstanding. Never a bad experience.
A wonderful dining experience !
Good food. Dress code is a joke
All kinds of people with shorts.
