scoozi - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
We very much enjoyed our meal at Scoozi. The service was great, friendly yet professional. We dined in the dining room area, but they have a great outdoor area and the bar was pretty busy too with diners at tables and at the bar. So there are lots of options!
Cheryl and I went to Scoozi with and old high school friend and his wife. The wives both had the lasagna. It was large enough that two could easily split it. Ken had the pork chop which he enjoyed. I had my favorite the grouper cheeks on pasta, always great
Went to Scoozi on a Friday night that coincided with the downtown art walk so there were lots of walk ins trying to get a table. The efficient and friendly hostess managed to juggle the extra demand and got all the reservations properly cared for and as many as the walk ins as they could handle. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive and made up for an extended time between appetizers and entrees. The menu is Italian primarily, but there are plenty of specials that are the result of local availability. The food is great.
We are regular customers and have always been pleased with the menu, meal and service. There are several items that are always on the menu as well as new items and specials. Servers are knowledgeable about the selections and provide good insight on choices.
We happily recommend this restaurant
Appetizers were promising (roast brussel sprout salad and beef vegetable soup), but entrees were disappointing--spaghetti and meatballs was short on the spaghetti; angry shrimp were drowning in sauce. If it's possible for service to be too attentive, our waiter felt interrupting. I guess it was a slow night.
Service and wine list were fine. The menu was great but the execution lacked. I realize it was Valenines Day but to forget or short the lemon in picata is just not acceptable. You end up with a butter overkill. My wife had the Grouper cheeks picata. Not very good. I had Shrimp with bread crumbs topping......one word bland. The final judgement is that I will not go back. There are better dining experience to be had in Vero
We dine here often and have never been disappointed with the food quality or variety. Service is good and selection has many new items. The chef likes to change the menu often but does keep some standard fare so your favorites are available.
The Chef is always open to modifying your meal to suit your desire.
Scoozi was nice, food was interesting, and tasty. Our dishes were done well. Like so much of a "Resort" town, prices are high, portions are fair. Our server was new but did an excellent job. It is difficult to get excited about many places in Vero. Scoozi along with thier sister resturants do a good job.
The chef's recipes are outstanding and the kitchen prep is closely monitored. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and generously attentive. If time is available, I would recommend stopping by the bar and engaging John in conversation. John is the second "most interesting man in the world".
This was my first time dining at this restaurant. I had been wanting to try it for some time. I made a reservation assuming that it would be packed at 7:00 p.m. during "season." It was 3/4 empty. The food was good, but I was expecting great. The portion of my meal was large. There was enough food for 2-3 meals. My partner's meal was not as large, probably because it was a special. He said it was excellent and had the veal meatballs with pasta. I had eggplant parmesan. The sauce was plentiful which was great, but it was a little bitter. The eggplant was a bit tough and I thought it should've been cooked more; seemed chewy. I wasn't a huge fan of the dip they put out with the bread. It seemed like a salsa to me that didn't really go with bread. The fact that the restaurant was not busy was a sign that perhaps my meal was an indication that other meals are good, but not great.
We chose this because it came recommended when we were looking for a date at their sister restaurant. This popped up and we are sorry it did. I was never asked how I wanted my steak cooked and it came rare and the waitress didn't ask me to cut into it. My wife's shrimp dish was way too garlicky and not edible. The appetizer was okay, but the shrimp were not deveined. We are from New Orleans so I know our expectation of seafood and good dining are higher than most. However, we will not be back.
Food was ok but very small portions if you get the smaller size. Ceasar salad served on a small cup plate & pasta served in a very small bowl. Get full sized portion if you go. Bread was just frozen rolls & they served it without butter but with some Italian salsa that was not good. Go for the pasta & if you have a lot of time. Slow service.
The food was good, the service was adequate. The evening was unpleasant as we were uncomfortably warm . They made excuses about a broken chain on a ceiling fan (someone could have climbed up and freed it) and air conditioning issues but never offered to move our table or move us outside!
Excellent food at moderate prices. Good value. Attractive setting, with comfortable el fresco dining options. Early bird specials are especially well done with a good selection of regional Italian dishes. Service is always very good, and the wine list is very adequate. This is one of your best values in the Vero Beach area.
