The table next to us was so loud we couldn’t hear ourselves. They were FaceTiming with people and acted like they were the only ones there. Not much scomas can do about rude guests though. Overall good and ambience wonderful as always

We love eating at Scoma’s in Sausalito and add to our to do list with each trip to the Bay Area. We usually sit outside but the cool weather caused us to move inside-we had a lovely table in the back corner overlooking the water-perfect. The waitstaff is very attentive and strives to make dining a wonderful experience. My husband’s usual is the petrole sole with lemon caper sauce-be sure to ask for the fries-they are crispy and lightly salted. The vegan option, butternut squash with farro is hearty and delicious. The restaurant brews very good coffee. You don’t need a reservation in the off season but we always make one just in case.

Scomas is a very cute little restaurant on the water, a perfect place to stop for lunch or dinner. The staff is very kind and welcoming. Food was delicious. Plate sizes were perfect - not too large. Cocktails were done very well, especially the Expresso martini. Our server was Maria and she was wonderful!

Scoma's never disappoints. We had the scallops and the lobster resotto and both were excellent. Attention to detail in the scallops presentation was appreciated. View is stunning. Only complaint is the noise level in the small bayside room. Customers should use quiet voices!

Considering nothing is cheap in San Francisco, I won't knock points off for its prices. To be fair, this place is a lot better than most restaurants in the area. Food is fresh and service is excellent. We were treated with respect and gratitude.

We were celebrating our anniversary and we got very friendly and accommodating service. My wife wanted to eat a crab cocktail and even though it was not on the menu they were able to make one for us. Also, the oysters and the scallops were excellent. Our waiter was friendly and helpful without overdoing it. The view of the bay was nice, as always, and we got to see a cormorant up close.

We were early and asked to be seated indoors, and they were so kind to us. From the host to the entire staff, they cared us for and never rushed from our bay front seating. We had the calamari with tomato sauce, heirloom tomato burrata salad were great starters. grilled branzino, pasta with clams (mix seafood) and cioppino with big chunks of dungeness crab and fresh shrimp and fish was out this world. Desserts were on the small size, but packed with flavor, we had the tiramsu and chocolate cake. It's worth coming here and especially wonderful to bring out-of-town guest to enjoy the Bay Area.

Our special birthday dinner celebration was fabulous! The environment, waiter David, the food and the wines were all at their finest possible levels. We were amazed after not having been there for many years. The halibut special dinner really was special and very unique. We will be back again soon with convenient parking right across the street!

The salad niscoise with seared ahi was delicious. However, there was one, maybe two tiny potato halves, and one tiny tomato half. Also, there was 1/2 of the hard boiled egg.

We had an open table reservation at 2:45 and they were able to take us sooner on a busy weekend. So we did not have to walk around and kill time. Taking the ferry over is great fun . Lucky for us and got a table outside . Great service we had steamed clams and fries with a bottle of champagne. Celebrating our anniversary so they gave us a anniversary treat that was unexpected. Would definitely go again.

We had a fantastic experience from the bar to the dining room! We started with drinks and appetizers in the sweet ark, which was the bar. The server was very polite and attentive. The oysters, and calamari were delicious and so was my cocktail! For dinner we were seated in back dining room with a fabulous view of San Francisco and the water. Our server was very good and very accommodating! Our meals were full of flavor and had great presentation! We will definitely go back!

We always come here when we are in town. The service and table location were excellent. You have the best chippino there is. The only negative was that my wife's salmon was way undercooked and she did not want to send it back. She should have as she was sick later. So she made the decision but I wonder why it was so under cooked.

Update: Scomas called me after reading this review and credited back the overage we inadvertently gave in the tip. What a total class act!!!! This place is awesome. All nine of us loved our meals. From sea bass to lobster to cod to sole, so perfectly prepared in every way. We made reservations for my Moms 87th birthday and took the ferry from SF. As a result, we did have a timeline to work with. All was great until the last 20 mins or so when service slowed to a crawl. Josef was our waiter. Super nice guy but with the really slow delivery of dessert, we rushed to pay. We got conflicting messages about whether the tip was included and got pretty confusing split tabs for two. In my haste, we ended up double tipping to the tune of 40%. Totally on me but if I wasn’t rushed, no way I make that mistake. Bummer ending to an otherwise wonderful lunch. Lesson learned. Triple check the bill and triple clarify all pertinent communications. And maybe allow lots of time for slow walkers 😉

This was my first time to Scoma’s, and was not disappointed. The view was fantastic, the energy of the place was fun, and the food was very good. Some of the other members of our party had been there before, and they enjoyed it as much as I did. Our server Peter was very engaged and added a personal touch to our meal. This is a beautiful place for some great seafood!

Extremely disappointing experience. As a resident of Marin for over 25 years I should have known better then coming for dinner to Scoma's. I guess they don't rely much on repeat business. Below average food, atmosphere and service. I took my partner out for his birthday, and was hoping for a special evening. Unfortunately, starting with our waiter, who was not friendly, unsmiling, and followed by not very fresh tasting oysters the size of a fingernail for $4 a piece, there was no chance. My salmon dish was good, but the wagyu beef short ribs my partner had were mediocre at best. The only thing they have going for them is the view, which is spectacular. Won't be back though.

fabulous- the sesame tuna might have been the best I've EVER had- halibut good just a little overcooked' everyone loved the crab cakes and clams were also good cant wait to return
