Visiting from Atlanta and have dined here several times before for lunch, always with great experience. Yesterday, not so much. Staff was scattered, forgot to put our order in, had to continually ask for water and/or to purchase more wine. Food was mediocre this time....unfortunately, we we won't be back. Lots of new restaurants in Dallas to try next trip.
Been there several times and enjoyed every visit. Good food, generous drink, and nice views of the park on a pleasant day. Worth a shot if you haven't been there.
Great food and atmosphere! If sitting on the patio (highly recommend when the weather is nice), request to sit in main area. Last time we were seated on the edge in a very noisy area without working heaters on a cool night.
The ambience and service were exquisite. I ordered the Heritage Pork Ribeye and it was disappointingly tough. Imagine it has to be fully cooked because it’s pork but the toughness was difficult to get around. My girlfriend had the blackened Gulf Grouper and It was excellent. I ended up eating most of hers. We also had the crab dip but had trouble finding any crab in it. San Juan Malbec Was really great. Overall good experience but really disappointed that the recommendation of the pork ribeye didn’t pan out. I should’ve stuck with my instincts and gone with
The Ancho Braised Short rib. It was an important anniversary and I’m glad we at least got one perfect dish and really good wine and service.
Was able to sit outside on the park, making it a wonderful dinner. The food was competent, but nothing overly notable. The service was excellent. A nice place for a decent dinner before the symphony.
Great service and good salads! I was happy to dine at Savor. We even had to delay our reservation due to rain and it was no problem.
Don't bring your vegan/vegetarian friends. No entree option. You can make do with one appetizer and one salad. Side dish options are weak and unimaginative. I left hungry and disappointed. That being said, my meat-eating friends enjoyed their meals very much. Cocktails were on point. Great location in Klyde Warren Park.
I've been to Savor many times, and keep coming back because it never disappoints. Tonight, we both had exceptional meals - lemon sole and grouper with crab. So good! The dinner was outstanding.
it was a beautiful sunny day and we sat on the patio. it's always fun to enjoy Clyde Warren Park while dining. Unfortunately, the service was slow and we rarely saw our server. The food was good but unimaginative. We both had salads. Hopefully, the service will improve in the future as it was not a crowded time.
We sat on the patio and it was perfect! We loved our waitress Abbey, she took great care of us and gave my husband a birthday dessert which made us feel special. Would definitely go back when we are in Dallas again.
I had read and heard really good things about Savor and was excited to try it along with friends that had been prior. The overall setting was lovely with the wide, open windows overlooking Klyde Warren Park. It was quiet enough to hear one another, which was also nice. Our service was adequate at best (not attentive for the prices paid) while the food was mediocre (nothing memorable or super tasty for the price). IMO, for the Savor price point, there are other options in Dallas that have tastier food and better service.
My rating would have been higher except for a problem with the Gulf Shrimp Remoulade appetizer. It was served very cold and consisted of popcorn shrimp coated in a a light sauce that tasted like a combination or bleach and Chinese mustard. It was not edible we returned it. It was certainly not what we expected. The entrees, on the other hand, were quite tasty and well prepared. We had the scallops and grouper and both were very good. Service was good if a little slow, especially considering that only a few other tables were occupied. I'll probably give them another chance the next time we are in Dallas.
It was my husband's birthday and we had a dinner party of nine. The price was great and every expectation was met. Great food and we will returning. Thanks goes to the manger and our awesome waitress.
Not a good experience. Food was tasteless, undercooked and not good. Management did come and apologize and comped our meal and gave us cute desserts to go. Hopefully it was just a bad night. Ambiance is right in the city. Very cool. Nice bar. Bathroom was atrociously dirty for 9pm.
Always a favorite of ours. Have been many times and will continue many more.
Nice little place on the park, food was exception, service wasn't in your face but felt like they cared
Decided to give this place a 4th try after being disappointed because it’s such a cute place. However, the quality of this restaurant has continued plummet. Ordered wine and an app (which never came) and sat 20 minutes waiting for a glass of wine. Decided to leave and go to another of Dallas’s gazillion restaurants. For that location they need to step their game up.
What has happened? This was one of our favorite restaurants. The food is, and always has been, just slightly better than okay. But that’s not why we would come. It’s for the ambiance, the people watching, the great location, and the service. Friday night was another experience. I’d reserved a table outside, and when we were being seated, there was a sign on a table next to the park that said “Reserved”. I asked for that one, but the girl ignored me. No big deal. What was a big deal, however, was that there were only 2 servers working on the entire patio, which has approximately 20 tables. It took FOREVER to get through the meal. My food came out cold, and when I pointed it out, it was taken back to the kitchen. When the waiter brought me a new meal, he apologized and said that one of the burners on the stove was off and they didn’t know. Again, that wasn’t really a big deal, but my husband finished his meal by the time mine arrived. Lastly, we both went to use the restroom on our way out. We were told the women’s room was broken, so we walked over to the other side of the restaurant to use those. Both were absolutely filthy, as you can see by the photo. My husband said the men’s room was exactly the same. I’m not sure if there is new management or what. We won’t be back till they figure it out. What a shame.
Went here for my fiancé’s and I 2nd year anniversary. Food took kind of long as our waitress brought out the wrong dish, guess they had to re-make our dinner cause it tasted like it was rushed. Not bad, but not all that great. The creme brûlée was the best part of the dinner service!
We really like Savor for all the obvious reasons: spectacular setting, excellent service and delicious food. We’ve been there many times. However, we made our reservation based on the online brunch menu and were disappointed when we were handed the “updated” print menu. It was comprised of lunch items, with only two brunch selections: eggs Benedict and French toast. We’d expected more variety based on what we saw online. That menu should have been updated as well.
Great food, fantastic service, and a view of Klyde Warren Park that can't be beat!
Beautiful setting with windows looking out on Klyde Warren Park. Great salmon entree. Always enjoy eating here!
Savor did not have my reservation. I have a confirmation email from Open table, but the reservation system Savor used didn't process it. I was disappointed in the Open table reservation.
Server was distracted by a larger party in our section which made service a little slow. All of us ordered the same lunch entree which did not come out of the kitchen accurately.
Convenient valet. Great location with view of the park. The manager was enjoyable and accommodating- actually he was the best part of the visit.
The staff overall was fine. Food was ok- calamari starter and chicken fried steak entree; both a bit blander than I expected.
I'd go again but would order something different.
Hopefully the manager is there again.
Service was impeccable. Bartender excellent. Food is pricey. $20 for chicken fry??? Plating is sloppy and uninspired. Crab Lois was bland. Coleslaw was of some nasty flavor.
Adam the (general manager I believe) gave us a wonderful experience! Along with von (I think is his name.) I’ve always come to savor with my friends, and the last time I went an unfortunate event happened that wasn’t necessarily their faults, but the owner gave us 4 free meals to make up for it. And it was a great experience! I Definitely don’t think anything less about Savor after what happened. Nice staff and good food and drinks! :)
Love this place. Great experience every time!
Outstanding location with fab food & atmosphere. Brought an out-of-town friend & had a great time! I would suggest the music volume down a bit, but enjoyed the eclectic selection. Weekday option was nice for having conversation & not feeling rushed.
We sat outside hence the moderate noise level. Mike was our server, excellent wine suggestion and paired our entrees as well. Great date, would do it again!
Restroom was filthy. Food tasted okay but later gave me. Stomach ache. Overpriced for what you get.
Some of the food was good (grouper). Some of the food was particularly bad (Caesar/polenta salad). The bathroom was filthy.
My second time eating here. I ordered the steak again and I loved it.
Very poor meal. Very poor service. Very disappointed. Unsure how this restaurant stays in business other than tourists.
Food was neither exceptional nor of sufficient portions to justify the prices.
One of my favorite restaurant’s in Dallas. Love the service and friendliness!!
The GM is sweet too ! Asked how the night was going and if the food was good.
Just an A+
Made reservations for 6:00 and noted that we had a concert at the Winspear at 7:30.
We arrived on time and mentioned to our waiter about our time-frame and the concert.
This was on a Sunday night. Not very many people in the restaurant at that time.
Our cocktail did not arrive until 6:30. We were not nervous yet.
He finally took our order at 6:50. Concern was present at our table.
Our food arrived at 6:15 and while still working on entree, we went ahead and ordered out dessert.
We waited until 7:33 and left without dessert or an apology from the waiter. BUT he did get a full tip from all 6 of us because he presented the bill before we knew how the dining experience would turn out in the end. Poor waiter - not helpful or concerned. Sad reflection on Savor. We cancelled our reservations at Lark in favor of Savor. Was that a bad decision?
We arrived at 5:30 on Sunday evening. We had a drink and ordered off the restaurant week menu. It took us over an hour and a half to finish due to slow service and we had to rush dessert (they were out of 2 of the 3 featured selections) to make a 7:30 show that was a 10 minute walk away. Food was fine but the slow service reduced the ranking. No excuse for that on an early Sunday meal in a half filled restaurant where we ordered only featured dishes. The view of the park was nice.
We had to return several items because the food was cold. Not a good performance for a restaurant week experience. Our server was appropriately concerned and quickly ensured our food was replaced with fresh, hot items and she recovered by offering complementary deserts. Other than that, the food was good, presented well and this is a great location. I may not return soon, however.
Service was excellent and the ambience was great. It was just starting to storm, but the view of the park was great regardless. The food portions are small, and while the appetizers were good, the salads were disappointing.
