We are a premier Indian restaurant in Covent Garden London WC2, established since 1979 we’ve been serving exquisite Indian Curry, Balti and Tandoori cuisine for the 34 years. We had booked a hotel close by and had been looking online for somewhere close by to have an evening meal. Read reviews and thought we would give it a try. Wasn't dissapointed. Friendly welcoming staff and the food was yummy and not overpriced.

This was our second visit to Sartaj. After booking the table via Open Table and we were greeted friendly at Arrival. A table for 4 waited for us although we booked only for 2 People and the Restaurant was quite full. Very friendly and promt Service. Quality of Food was very good and we like the Naans, although we did not order their huge Family naans. Whenever we come back to London we will also come back to Sartaj.

My favourite curry house- come here time and time again, with work groups, friends and my husband. The food is consistently good (especially their excellent breads), reasonably priced, and the staff are always so friendly and accommodating. Love it!

I came with my family to eat in this restaurant after searching for an Indian Restaurant in Covent Garden. I am glad we did it, we ordered 4 different plates and they were all great. The Karahi lamb and the Butter Chicken were outstanding. We really enjoyed the evening and I recommend this small gem to anyone looking for a above averege Indian meal for a good price.

What a shame! I have been to, and recommend this restaurant for over10 years now but tonight they really let themselves down. I booked using 'open table' earlier in the day and was told it was all booked. We arrived at the right time but they clearly hadn't checked their reservations, saying that we must have booked after 6pm. I showed them the confirmation email and they then said that we could have a table in 25 minutes time. We came back 30 minutes later and were told that they thought we weren't coming back so have let the table to someone else. The waiter then got stroppy with us and made out that it was our fault! Obviously we went somewhere else. A real shame that it came to that, if they don't need our business then fine but don't make it out to be our fault...just check your reservations!!!

Booked this restaurant for our Department's Christmas do. First time we had been here and were pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. A few of the party will be returning here again in the future. Thank you for making our Christmas do so enjoyable.
