Great experience with very good food and service. A little pricey but worth it. Definitely try the chef specials.
This was our second time at Sarma's. Everything was very good but not as outstanding as our first time. I think this has to do with the Waitresses recommendations. We ordered different things this time and they weren't as "wow" as the first time but still very good.
This is the single best restaurant in the Boston area. The crazy amount and range of flavor is unreal. If I were dying tomorrow, I would be at Sarma tonight.
The food is fantastic, but a dinner for two with cocktails can easily run around $200. Take a Lyft, don't drive, parking can be tricky and you'll want to sample at least one cocktail. Our table felt too close to our neighbors and it was very loud for a Monday night and completely packed. Sitting across from each other and so close to others felt less intimate than we'd have liked for an anniversary dinner. If only there were a way to dampen the noise and space tables a bit more, it would be much nicer. It took booking two months ahead just to get a Monday night reservation. Too popular to give people more space. Very unique cocktails and delicious food. The harissa duck was my favorite.
As in previous visits, pure pleasure. Creative delicious small dishes to share, excellent cocktails and great atmosphere.
The food was absolutely unbelievably good.
Very rude waiter
I was so happy they had dairy free options. 🙌🏼 Service was great and so was the food.
This was our second time at Sarma and the service and food/cocktails were as good as the first time. The tapas are really small but packs a great taste. There are many food options for vegetarians as well. Cocktails (Urfa and Walk with rhythm) were great. Planning to visit again soon!
We have eaten all over the world and Sarma is our favorite. The food is really out of this world. It is perfect for vegetarians & meat eaters. The food is spot on in terms of flavor profile, spicing, presentation and everything in between. Whenever I go to sarma, I always wonder why I eat out anywhere else as no where compares to the deliciousness of Sarma
We have gone to Sarma 7 times. We have always absolutely loved it. This time it was disappointing. It was 4 of us.We ordered 10 dishes and 4 of them were mediocre. We didn't even finish them and they are small portions. One of them, the octopus, was really bad and the waitress kindly took it off the check. 3 of them were really good, to be expected. The other 2 were just ok. I want to think that this bad experience was due to making reservations at 22:15 and having the cooks and the chefs tired.
Hopefully next time it will be back to normal.
Probably one of the best restaurants in Boston area with unique dishes.
I would highly recommend this place for vegetarians and meat lovers as they blend things that I would never eat outside otherwise. Their lamb sliders, pea falafel, parsnip fritters are some of my favorite and their daily special as well are worth it. A little expensive , but an experience to remember. Their frozen yogurt with different toppings is just the perfect way of ending a meal. Overall, a nice place to celebrate a special occasion or a date.
Large menu with a good variety of tapas-style dishes. Plenty of good options whether you like veggie, meat, fish, etc.
Highly recommend the lamb köfte sliders and champagne mango shirazi from the standard menu. They also bring around nightly specials throughout the meal that you can elect to try (ranging from ~$8-15 depending on what it is). We have really enjoyed those, with our favorite being the sesame fried chicken. Be sure to save room for dessert!
Great meal, will definitely be come back! You could probably order just a couple plates at a time. They come out fast and that would allow you to try the chef's specials.
so many unique options, execution was a bit off.. Some dishes just needed a touch of salt
to balance while others were overly salted, ie: the trout, which was very dry and salty. Stand outs were the snap peas, bright flavors, seasonal and balanced and the lentil nachos were a hit.
I had an extremely disappointing visit to Sarma after waiting almost three months to find a reservation that worked for us. The service was possibly the worst I have ever had. Not once did the waiter ask how we were enjoying our meals, recommend something to order, or do anything to make us feel like we were an appreciated patron. On top of this, it was one of my guests birthday's and instead of keeping it a surprise he said I know its your birthday when we sat down and then threw a candle with no desert at her to end the night. Many better places in the area if they do not learn to train their staff better. When we asked for the manager he did not even follow through.
Very small portion size ! My food was very salty, ordered cauliflower dish and got broccoli and it was burned. Other than that it was good.
Great meal but table wasn’t ready for our reservation time
Fantastic! Ever dish was delicious.
This is the best food in Boston. Lots of choices for vegetarians.
They continue to provide delicious and interesting combinations of flavors. Brought relatives from out of town this time and they loved it!
Sarma is always a favorite, the food is inventive and memorable. Our latest visit was an off night, with some of the most disinterested service I've come across at this level of restaurant.
Amazing dinner with 6 dishes, all with incredible flavor and thoughtful presentation.
Too salty for most dishes
Tables need a cloth
Amazing flavor! I am difficult to impress, and I was impressed. The lamb sliders may have been my favorite. My only criticism is the seating can be uncomfortable.
Great food. Surprisingly poor service attention and enthusiasm. Would come back in a heartbeat.
One of a kind very creative food
Just had another great meal at Sarma this weekend. Wonderful spices, terrific food, and they've added at least one new wine that was very good--- AND not that expensive, too!
Awesome and tasty as always ! Our favorite place in town.
Fantastic as always! Make sure you leave room for the specials!!
One of the best restaurants in Boston. Sometimes tricky to find parking - but what place in the Boston area isn't? Just allow time for finding parking. You won't regret it!!
Took my friend out to experience how the wonders of Sarma work. He was pleasantly surprised by EVERYTHING we ordered. Funny, even the slightest negative opinion came off as a vague compliment.
He said, “Everything was mad bomb. I probably wouldn’t order the Pumpkin Fritters again but that just simply means I didn’t enjoy it as much as everything else” Nearly perfect is how I would describe Sarma. Service could be fractionally better.
Excellent food and service. We ordered a little too much ( it’s so easy to do it, everything in the menu sounds so good!) but we finished everything. Even the fried calamari is a different experience ...
Very similar to tapas places with small dishes allowing you to sample a wide variety of innovations and combinations. In addition, a server will come around with something not on menu for you to try if you decide to purchase. Some drinks on menu have WAY TOO MUCH ice, so ask for less ice.
We went to visit Boston, New Haven and New York for a few days and Sarma was the best food experience we’ve had this trip so far... small bites, amazing flavors, rich and complex mix of textures, ingredients and again: the flavors... totally worth exploring
Sarma was wonderful, as always. We has several of the newer items on the ever-changing menu, and they were great.
great food, really disrespectful and rude waitress. rolled her eyes at us even
Very good although very surprising that foo tapas dining they did not refresh with clean plates during the meal. They should also tell you what “dim sum” they are going to be bringing to help decide on what to order. The pacing of the dished was a little off- too fast out of the kitchen.
We had a fabulous birthday dinner. The food was creative and beautifully presented.
