Server was amazing! So funny, knowledgeable about the menu, prompt and very friendly! She made our experience more enjoyable.
My friends and I were so excited to dine @ Sampan during restaurant week. The tasting menu is an amazing deal! I have to say the food was amazing as always. It was also so nice that complimentary dishes were brought over to compensate for the seating 45 minutes after our reservation, however our server was just awful. We are not a complaining bunch but she was terrible. No energy, she wouldn’t even look at us and kept looking at her reflection in the lighting fixtures when she was speaking to us, it seemed like she would rather be anywhere else. And when we asked for an additional soft serve cone because they were one person short she let out an audible groan. The food at Sampan is always amazing and we will definitely be back, but unfortunately this soured the experience.
Sampan is always a go!!!! Delicious food
Sampan never disappoints. Their General Tso Soup Dumplings are my favorite thing to eat in the entire city!
Excellent food, and very good happy hour. However, every time I have gone to sampan (and this is over 20 times now) your reservation means nothing. If you reservation is at 6 pm you won’t be seated until 635-645. It is my only Real complaint about the restaurant. Food is always great and comes out quick. Servers are a little rude at times but haven’t had a problem myself. Would recommend but make sure to arrive at least 30 mins early!
Everything was soooooo good!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Danielle was AWESOME ! Food was delicious and nice atmosphere.
I Love Sampan, the good is amazing and I love the atmosphere.
The various courses were unique and so delicious. Server was helpful and knowledgeable. Great ambience.
This was my first time there for restaurant week with my sister. The Service was great and the food was even better!!
Went to Sampan for restaurant week and will definitely be returning. Started the night off with a Moscow Mule, which was absolutely delicious. We were able to try 7 different dishes with the restaurant week tasting which were all fabulous. Stars of the show were the scallops, beef satay, general tso dumpling, and crab wonton tacos. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly. Overall it was an amazing experience and I cannot wait to return.
Sampan is my favorite place and I was so excited to visit for restaurant week! The food is always incredible and I love the atmosphere.
Our table was not ready at our reservation time; however, Sampan gifted us with an appetizer and dessert on the house. We had a great time at the bar until our table was ready. Great service, which made waiting for our table not bad at all.
Food and atmosphere was awesome- date was awkward and weird
Went for restaurant week. It was very crowded. The food was awesome, they offered their seven course tasting menu. Definitely will return.
The food was amazing! Make sure to get the General Tso’s dumplings - they’re incredible. The restaurant week menu is such a good deal too - you get so much food. This place is one of my favorites in the city!
Came for restaurant week and was not disappointed. We had to wait about 20 minutes for our table despite having a reservation, but once we were seated service was excellent. Highlights of the tasting menu were the shrimp pad Thai, beef satay and pork bao buns. Will definitely be back!
I was glad they honored my reservation and I did not have to wait more than 5 minutes when I arrived at my specified time. The food was amazing for Restaurant Week. The service was great, they were friendly and quick to serve food and clean up. They even offered us complimentary dessert. Would highly recommend going there for not just the unique and tasty food but the overall experience.
A blast, delicious food and a great vibe, would definitely go again. Thankful for the restaurant week deal
Went for Restaurant Week and was able to taste 7 different dishes. Everything was super delicious, especially the Pork Bao Buns!
Very good food with a nice atmosphere. Would definitely go back
FOOD WAS INCREDIBLE. Went for restaurant week and the price was so worth it for the amount of food that was given. I can’t wait to go back again soon. GO YOU WONT REGRET IT!!!
Fantastic food. We will be going back!
Interesting, unusual, and very good food, in a small plates format. Heavily staffed, assuring fast service: service was friendly, accommodating, and very good. Highly recommend for a hot spot in Center City!
Food was delicious and awesome! Even as busy as they were with Restaurant Week, our waitress was attentive and caring.
Always a great time at Sampan with great food. Everyone is nice and pleasant
As always, a meal at Sampan is a treat. The menu is wonderful, and choosing is difficult, but well worth the effort. The restaurant's vibe is very appealing. The service is impeccable and attentive. Reservations necessary, in my opinion.
Came for the tasting menu on restaraunt week - it’s a great way to try the menu for an affordable price but not a ton of food!
Fantastic meal through Restaurant Week! Preferred our various appetizers more so than the entrees. The Wonton Tacos, Korean Beef Satay and Philly Pho were so delicious and original. The Filet Mignon and Shrimp Pad Thai was not as high of quality and somewhat average. The Chili Prawns were great, but very, very spicy AND I adore spicy food. We will be back just concentrating on trying the smaller dishes. Our server was not very friendly, but there were a large number of staff running food, refilling water, and taking dirty plates.
Our restaurant week dinner hit all the marks, not 1 bad dish. Our favorites: General Tso soup dumplings, edamame dumplings. Also delicious: green papaya salad, szechuan chicken stir fry, xo scallops, & crispy brussel sprouts
It was my boyfriend’s birthday and it was perfect. Food was great, service was superb. I’d definitely go again.
My husband and I had a superb experience dining at Sampan for the first time during Restaurant Week. We opted for their 7-course tasting menu, which was too good of a value to pass up. We enjoyed every dish, especially the Crab Wonton Tacos (a must have in my opinion!) The cocktails were great as well, especially the Ming Mule. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back!
Waited half an hour to be seated at our reserved table. Place is lively, and the hosts look confused all the time. Service from our waiter was outstanding. He genuinely took the time to explain everything and had a great personality. Food is good if it isnt burnt or drenched with sauces.
Everything was nice but food was rather mediocre
Good food and friendly wait staff. Waited 20 min for a table despite having reservation
Food tasted great, servers were attentive, lighting was dim and candelit tables but added to the ambiance. Wasn't too loud inside, but it was pretty full. Food didn't take too long to come out and we always had at least one dish on the table. Recommend the crispy rock shrimp. Chicken katsu bao and pork potstickers were average, but all other dishes we tried were great. Steak was tender and juicy. Lo mein was tasty but didn't include much meat. Chili prawns were good, but a bit on the spicier side for the average person. Just a warning, portions are fairly small, but the food does taste great.
Food was great. We went during happy hour , were seated and told we could only get happy hour drinks at the bar..
The food was great but I wish it would’ve been served all at once.
There was nothing that we didn’t delightfully enjoy!
Will revisit for sure!
Excellent food and service. Love the small plates and because there was three of us, server always asked if we wanted to add additional items to make it an even number to share; if there was four dumplings he made it six etc. Would be nice if they added a little rice with the entrees especially for the price (instead of making it an extra side). Very crowded which made it noisy but we would definitely return.
Amazing service and food as always!!!
