Shrimp & Crab Dip

We had the calamari and Salmon and the food was very bland. Our table was tucked away in a corner with all the columns blocking our vision to see the band and to see the screen. We loved the atmosphere but overall not that great of an experience.
This was a nice place but it has certainly aged, maybe that is why the air conditioning was not working Would have been nice to have been notified so we had time to make other reservations Frustrating
Arrived at about 1020 was told the kitchen was closed by the Hostess and find out own seats at the bar. Yet she say others and I saw food coming out just to be told the kitchen closed at 11.
Great food & drinks.
Try the crab & shrimp dip - delicious!
Seafood pasta was delicious as well.
When we come to Houston we always try to come here at least one night if we can make it happen. This night was superb and we were not disappointed as usual. From start to finish with the dessert it was excellent. Glad to be able to see live music again as well.
Horrible food. No crust in my cobbler. Missing several wines from the menu. Weak drinks. Patio fans not working.
Enjoyed it but didn’t have a server after being seated. We ended up going to the bar to order food and drinks but very nice place and great atmosphere...will go again
We had reservations at 8pm for my BIRTHDAY on May 29, 2021.
Arrived at 8:03… table NOT READY. Waited 15 minutes for table.
Finally seated, no silverware, no linens, no plates.
We ordered drinks. Took forever. Drinks finally came. Still no silverware, no linens, no plates.
We ordered appetizers and dinner. Again, took forever. Appetizers came but still no silverware, no linens, no plates.
We went ahead and asked for silverware, linens & plates.
Were we supposed to eat with our hands off the table?
2 in my party ordered shrimp & crab linguine. They kept trying to bring us shrimp scampi???
I ordered my rib eye medium. It came very well done. I sent it back. Asked for it to be medium rare. They came back with a filet… said they ran out of ribeye. The filet was rare… cold center. I gave up and just tried to swallow the rare filet. I do not like filet. Though tender, it has no marbling and is flavorless.
I was excited for weeks to celebrate my birthday at Sambuca’s but turned out extremely disappointed.
This was not a good birthday at Sambuca’s. Your staff did not have anything special lined up even though we asked for it when we made reservations.
Our waiter Tim was gone for very long periods , unable to get service for a 2nd drink for two people , waited 30 minutes , I ended up walking up to the bar and ordering and paying for our drinks much faster.
My wife and I enjoyed our date night at Sambuca. The food, drinks, and atmosphere was amazing.
It was my girlfriends birthday so I wanted to take her somewhere different. She and I truly enjoyed the food and music. I will truly go back to visit. I just wish they had more fish choices in the menu.
AC was broken and boy was it HOT in there! It took 20 min to get drinks. The appetizers were good but the steak I ordered had no flavor…. Thank goodness for the sauce. Won’t be going back.
El show de Elvis estuvo espectacular !! La atención muy buena y los tragos también.
The band, Shapeshifters, is possibly the best band I’ve heard in this city! Wow! 7 musicians, 4+ vocalists, several brass, astonishing solo guitarist and 2 additional guitarists, drummer and separate percussionist/congas...these guys played everything from 70a - 80s -90s hits that get you on your wild dancing feet, to soulful ballads! Wow!!
The place is beautiful, the bar scene hopping, table seating spacious and enjoyable, service very attentive, but most of all, the food was FABULOUS! And the Date Night menu was a true bargain. The filet mignon steaks were seared/charred deliciously but so soft and medium rare juicy and perfect on the inside. Veggies were perfectly prepared. Excellent flavors and textures! Great wines to choose from too!
I can’t say enough good things about this experience! Definitely at the top of my Favorite Places list now!!
Live music is nice, expect it to be very loud.
The kitchen here is good.
Service is terrible (before covid too) they didn't seem to have a help shortage and the dining area was not very busy the entire time we were there.
Frankly the backup staff was far better than the primary waiter , although after 30 min we had to ask hostess for water, when it arrived we ordered a bottle of wine, it arrived 45 min later, we ordered a simple starter & no one came back to see if we wanted a meal.
We again went to hostess to request help.
After eating & finishing wine there was no check presented, hostess request again..Music stops at 10 now it was 1030 before we could wrap up.
I would never walk a check but I'm sure this is a perfect storm for someone to leave without paying check!
The primary waiter seemed only interested in collecting the final payment from each table.
Sambuca is a great DT location please step up your servers & bar staff attitudes to match.
Mothers Day brunch was decent. Price and ambiance was the best part. The selection ok.
Being an Executive Chef the food was good, but the eggs were over cooked and the beef could have been cooked a bit more, to much redness, everything else was delicious, great salad!
We were neglected during the Mother’s Day event. I was very sad because I planned ahead of time because I thought it would be fun. I spent $175 for cold buffet food and orange juice that tasted bad. Very bad. I won’t be going back.
Mothers Day brunch was disappointing both from a food and organizational standpoint. The servers were doing their best but the restaurant was understaffed. Food was not replenished and cold. $35 per adult price was not worth what we got.
A disappointment . The music was too loud and too long. It would have been been better with background music. They were short staffed. The serving staff could not hear orders. The place was packed. Roast beef was way to rare. The salmon and chicken were delicious . The venue was too hot.
Walking distance from GF place. Pleasant experience. Glad to see and listen to live band. Busy place. Good Moms Day buffet. Our checks a little confused.
It was too loud and crowded for a dining experience. You couldn’t get by or around to the buffet due to seating placement. Buffet was alright as were the drinks. Just wasn’t our thing.
Great dining experience Food was excellent Really enjoyed the Live band and dancing
While in Houston my friend and I dined with Micheal. We were very impressed with his attention to us. I also want to thank him for introducing me to a new way of having my favorite cocktail"Old Fashion" but with a twist I was not familiar with. "Smoked" I can't imagine drinking it any other way!
I have date night with my wife every week it our time with out family or friends to just reconnect and spend Quality time with each other. This time we choose Sambuca and it was the right Choice the food was amazing plus the band was great also. We will be having date night at Sambuca again. I just to thank the wait staff for excellent service
Food and service was very good. Greek vegetable plate was excellent.
Food was salty it wasn’t a bad experience, just average.
Food was excellent, each one of the plates, side dishes were delicious. Good service. We will be back.
Made a reservation and when we got there we were told it would another half hour. Got seated waited another 20 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge us to get a drink. Food took forever. Our waiter came to our table 3 times. I don't blame the wait staff as much as I blame the management. On a Saturday night you should have adequate staff. I was not happy at all with our evening
This is a second visit for our anniversary and we will be returning for future anniversaries we love the place and the atmosphere.
Excellent date night
Food and drinks were delicious although I didn’t too much care for the bread pudding. The live band was a nice touch.
Food and service was great, we were there while there was live music and it was great!!
We went here for my friend’s birthday on Friday night and it was great! The staff was awesome, the live music was great and the food was incredible. We will be back!
Great food, great service, great music, loved the ambiance.
A great place to celebrate a birthday! The food was delicious and the service was excellent!
Food overpriced and bland(like no seasoning). I got the chick parm- it was terrible, even after I added salt. My hubby had the shrimp and crab pasta which only had about 3 little prices of crab and it was bland. The service was horrible, we waited a long time (30mins) even before we saw our server. The music (dj) was ok. The live band was ok. It was an ok experience, but we never go there again., For the price of food and drinks it should have been better. Not a good anniversary dinner. I would NOT recommend!!
Our reservation was for 1:45pm, however there was a little extra time taken to park, since valet wasn’t available like it was stated when previously called. The food, server, and band was exceptional. 2:57 we ordered another round of champagne for the table, at 3:00pm, the manager had told the server to inform us that they weren’t able to get us our drinks because they closed at 3:00pm. Now I’ve been in the industry for almost 20 years, I could have understood if we were a new table wanting to be seated, but we weren’t and the buffet didn’t even close until 3:00pm. Either way we didn’t make a stink. The manager who walks around in a chef coat(today was red) literally lingered with her hand under her chin staring at us as we finished up. Which then made us feel that we were intruding and rushed. The bathroom was disgusting and the push out of the restaurant was astonishing. We had to open our Easter gifts out front while bring haggled by the homeless. Most def not what we remembered. Bring back the zebra and leopard couches like it was when this place was hoppin!
Decent food. They had a live band playing so it made dinner a little loud. Service was absolutely horrible. We saw our server twice. Management was non-existent. Just didn’t make for a pleasant experience!
