The service in the bar and for dinner was exceptional!
We had the fillet minion, asparagus and whipped potatoes (I could’ve licked the bowl) it was all very good.
Reception, bar, server all very pleasant however because of a large noisy bar group inside and given the day and age of Covid I decided to sit outside. The lighting was bad to non-existent. We literally could not see what we had ordered and finally gave up and left. Light, any light, would have been nice!
We had a problem when we were taken to the table. We made reservations for a party of 3 and they had a table of for two set with an additional placemat. The table was also located really close to a fire pit like it had just been added to add extra tables. When asked to please have a better location and a large enough table for 3. The hostess was very rude. Ultimately we had to ask for Dennis the manager and were seated at a larger more comfortable table.
Came for a birthday and dine La and it was a horrible experience. Ordered 3 different things to find they had ran out of it. Ordered soup which was cold and a salad add chicken. Chicken was lukewarm and so dry. Said they would give us a complimentary appetizer since we had ordered food that they ran out of at 7pm on Tuesday night and it was not busy at all. when we got the bill it was still on. We had also put in our nights we were celebrating and birthday and nothing. For over 400 with added gratitude. I will never be back or recommend this place. Everything was cold/lukewarm, service fell flat, and the price for crap, and mention of a birthday. No thanks!
The host was not helpful. She was clearly distracted and was not paying attention to the order. She didn't bring the correct order for the appetizer. When we asked for a refill of the drinks, she brought the wrong drinks. At the end, we had to mention 3 times that we ordered cappuccino for her to bring it.
The server got my drink order wrong. Then the poached eggs came out fully cooked so I sent them back. A manager didn’t come to check on us after sending back 2 items.
Their breakfast burrito was REALLY GOOD. The server was nice enough but the restaurant is at the bottom of the hotel so I think she expected us to “charge to the room” but we weren’t staying there so we had to get up and go find her to pay.
All that and it was $70 for just the two of us. Kind of pricey for what we got.
The food was thoughtfully prepared, but I felt it was overpriced. Not too surprising for a hotel restaurant on the water. The view was absolutely stunning.
I think they are short staffed as many restaurants are due to Covid, so the service could use some improvement.
The bone marrow was amazing though!
Waiter was kind but slow to return to table. So slow between courses and drinks. Lunch took nearly an hour and a half. 1 person. Also hostess put me in direct sun stating all tables in the shape were reserved but at least 5 tables in shade sat empty the whole time! I’d expect more from a place like this.
Great lunch, beautiful view, excellent service from Diana. Wonderful.
The only reservation time that was available was 8:45. Once we ordered drinks the waiter asked us for our order. We wanted to start with some appetizers and go from there. He then told us the kitchen is closing soon and the chef likes to have the orders taken. The restaurant was packed so I felt really rushed for no reason. The food was mediocre. The charcuterie board was basic, the bone marrow was horrible, and the filet was not hot it was barley warm. We didn’t even stay for dessert. The patio was pretty but not worth the $300 we ended up spending. We should have at least bit felt rushed for the amount we spent.
Lobster toast excellent. It is a generous portion and can serve as a stand alone meal.
Start with the good. Great view of the harbor in the Marina and the food was good. The not so good. Our service was nice, but very inattentive. She never checked on us after serving us, and we had to flag her down several times to ask about things we needed (like the check, at the end). Also, it's really expensive, which is often the case with restaurants in nice hotels, but that food was just good -- not great -- and, for the omelette, at least, they charged us $28 for a "custom" omelette with mushrooms, spinach (they basically charged us for $19 french omelette and didn't allow us to sub any ingredients). And that didn't include any bread. Note for expensive restaurants: offer awesome food; include standard extras for bfast (like bread!); and/OR give people some flexibility with ingredients without simply doing an upcharge.
Good and service was good. Hotel is old and needs a lot of work.
Great ambiance. Excellent food and service.
I always love the French rolled Omelette. The hamburger was okay and the chocolate mousse was disappointing. My guest and I prefer a dark chocolate and this was very light and sweet.
I love SALT for its position on the Marina, its casualness and sense of being on vacation. Food is pretty good as is the selection of beers and liquors. Wine list could be better but is adequate. Bar staff are excellent.
I'm heading back tonight!
Outdoor seating had just been power washed. Noise level inside was very high. Think they must have been shorthanded because it was 30 minutes before order was taken. Once waiter arrived he was delightful and responsive. Was able to move outside before food was served.
Had raved about restaurant to friend who met me there so I was disappointed. Seems to me the power washing should have been done very early in the morning.
Service was poor. Our server had no name tag and mumbled rather than clearly speaking. He couldn’t light the candle of the birthday dessert for my wife as his lighter didn’t work after 30+ attempts. So he just says “oh well” and walks away. Food is overpriced and very average or below in presentation and taste. The view is great from the patio but that’s about it.
Great patio for outside dining
Beautiful setting, and wonderful service. The food is good and nicely presented. And the prices are really reasonable.
We had a lovely view of the water and boats while we dined outside.
Super nice place with great outdoor seating, nice views and lots of heaters. Would recommend.
Went on a date
The view was beautiful and the menu had some appealing options. However, when the appetizers arrived we found multiple pieces of hair fried into the calamari. Our waiter Eddy was inattentive and standoffish, leaving us with empty plates for too long. We did not receive any refills of water, even after asking.
Most tastiest brunch I've had in LA.
From ambience to food service I will definitely come back to visit. Couldn't have left this restaurant more satisfied.
Upon being seated the hostess let me know that we only had 90 minutes to sit and enjoy our meal, which set the tone for our experience on a negative note. We were there to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. We listened to hear if anyone else was told the same thing and didn't hear that again. We felt rushed and racially profiled as the white couple that came after us was not told the same thing. I did express my thoughts to the manager however free drinks the next time I go there (which I will carefully consider) is nice but really?? I would think that after what the country has experienced for the last 18 months especially in the restaurant industry we would have been treated, BETTER. My compliments to the chef on the roasted chicken which was amazing.
Great views. Terrible meal. No taste with caesar salad or chicken.
My party of 4 had a horrible experience. The server, Valeria, did not come get our drink orders until after 25 minutes we were sat. It took her another 20 minutes to bring over our drinks and then 10 minutes until we got waters. When she opened our champagne bottle for our mimosas, she spilled it on one of my friends who was dining. She said she would get us more champagne bc she spilled a lot of our bottle, but none was sent over. She also never said sorry for spilling champagne on our friend. Other dining guests who got there 20 minutes after us, got their food before us. Valeria never once checked up on us during our meal. Only until we were finished eating and needed our checks. Once we got the check, she added an automatic 20% gratuity that should not have been added since we only had a party of 4. The manager and hostess were nice, but this specific waitress made the dining experience bad and I would not return. The manager removed the tip from my bill and I will be following up to make sure that it is removed fully.
Very difficult menu for lunch!
Poor variety -they seem to offer a wider choices for breakfast.
Had eggs which were done as ordered;
However bacon ordered well done was
So undercooked. Also their bread was not very good.
Service was fine nice waitress !!
They need to get some fresh jalapeños so that we can brink cucumber jalapeños margaritas. Other than that,it was cool.
Service not great food and cocktails hit and miss
Natasha is the best.
Service great. Ambience great. Entrees and appetizers were outstanding. We tried three of four dessert offerings which were more mediocre.
We've come to SALT several times now during COVID, specifically for the lovely, peaceful outdoor setting overlooking the Marina. The food is good. Yesterday we had the charcuterie and Rose wine, and shared the Caesar salad and the salmon. Quiet enough to have a good conversation. We were a little first when we first arrived, as there seemed to be a big party going outdoors on the pool side, but our dining took place on the opposite side, where it was quiet. We will keep coming back!
They release your reservation quickly so make call them if you are late.
Nice marina view. food and service are soso.
I love Salt. We are venice locals and we have dined here regularly for years and it has always been first class - even during the pandemic. Top rate food and service.
However - we recently ate here for brunch with friends and it was disappointingly just not the same restaurant. The staff were clearly slammed and the kitchen is clearly not functional for the tables that were seated.
Service was incredibly poor. Drinks took 40 minutes and food took 1 hour 15 minutes and this was after we'd been advised (humorously) of the 90 minute seating rule. That's just embarrassing. And no acknowledgement or understanding by the staff serving us. Further the brunch menu has lost most of the very interesting and diverse menu items that used to make this place special and its now Marriot-Lite. Why bother?
Firstly - there are to many good restaurants in this area (including others with the same owners) for this attitude to have any future. Secondly - if you're not staffed or served in the kitchen at the level you need - then don't take the reservation. 3rdly - make sure the staff know that this is NOT how it is or should be so that they are courteous and they track orders - even those not yet ready. They need to know that they cannot be the rude waitress from Waffle House here - even if they are the rude waitress from Waffle House.
I brought friends here due to the prior fantastic experiences here. The only positive was that we could all joke about how bad the service was and how arrogant to have a 90 minute rule when they couldn't get the food out for 75 of them.
Perfect for a romantic date! Food was delicious and ambiance/view superb. We loved it.
Salt has a great location! However, we didn’t find our server very polite and customer service oriented.
Birthday celebration and the service was spectacular everybody went out of their way to make it a very nice evening I would definitely recommend this restaurant
Good except wobbly table and had to wait for our table. Great waitress!
I was there for a real estate meeting just a few of us and we had the best service amazing views and amazing food. We got a lot done including great videos of the beautiful boats
