Salt NEVER disappoints....always a place to go if you want ALL your senses engaged...we were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary, and apart from having to wait longer than usual for service, it was and always is an amazing culinary experience.
Best place to dine while visiting Amelia Island, even if you are not staying at the Ritz Carlton, Amelia Island. We enjoyed both. Pricey but worth it in every way.

5/1/21 It was good but not quite what everybody talked about. Have eaten at several of the Ritz and this one was not overly exceptional
We had the 4 course chef’s menu with the sommelier selected wines. Food was beautiful, creative and delicious. Wine pairing was on spot for the dishes presented. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive and she brought the chef out so we could discuss a dish. Music was provided by a guitarist who came over and chatted with us. The only drawback was a noisy child several tables over but, that was the parents fault, not the restaurant.
We were a bit disappointed in the chef’s tasting. The food wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t as good as expected. Typically the chef’s tasting is the best option, but in this case I think we would have been better ordering off the menu. The service was excellent, though.
One of the top dining experiences I’ve ever had
We had the tasting menu and it did not dissapoint. The attention to detail, and the experience with the different salts was just amazing. The staff was very knowledgeable and incredibly pleasant. The 4 course menu topped it off with an amazing dessert.
Being rated a five diamond restaurant, it was disappointing based on our experiences. The restaurant itself was beautiful in an even better setting. The food was but good but not inspired or creative. Could find the dishes served at nearly any fine dining restaurant, for a 5 diamond restaurant I expect more in food quality and presentation, see picture of the Buffalo served. There was no imagination there. Salt is noted for their use of salt. They did not describe what salt was used, if any, to enhance each dish or what salt on our table might pair nicely with the dish. There were also several other missteps in an experience we would not expect from a 5 diamond restaurant. We had a nice meal but not as special as we expected.

I had the foie gras, and papardelle pasta which were so delectable.
Like the place we were celebrating an anniversary and they made a point of making it special.
Fantastic service from Patty. Food was exceptional. Nice view and ambience. Only recommendation is that they need to step up their wine list (or bring your own). It does not match the quality of the food.

Salt was an excellent experience. We all enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere. The service was fantastic and the food as always was amazing.

We arrived early to a cocktail before dinner. The wait for service in the lounge for a was terrible. Grossly understaffed!
Nonetheless, we were determined not to allow that experience to deter our celebration.
Fortunately, the server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered several recommendations we took. However, the “shrimp and grits” recommendation was a bust. It included two paltry shrimp that tasty enough but certainly on the small side and a small dollop of grits.
The rest of the recommendations were solid. Of note, the pasta with seafood was very good and had plenty of shrimp and scallops.
We dined with friends and looked forward to Salt as we had heard very good things. We stopped in the bar prior to our reservation for cocktails. However it took nearly 20 minutes to get served as the bartender had diners at the bar and no other help. Once seated at our table our server was a bit robotic ... but polite. Three of us had sea bass and the other bison filet. When the food came it was very cold ... quite disappointing. We complained and the food was taken away. Only to be returned and apparently not redone but microwaved. It was not good to say the least. We were quite surprised by this experience as we dined at Coast a few times and had very good service and food.

Robert - the host was very business like at first and we weren’t sure if it was Covid, etc., but we were delayed slightly sitting down, so he got us a glass of champagne and chatted with us briefly - with his apologies for being delayed.
Craig our waiter was knowledgeable, fun to talk with and helpful with choices. We had a wonderful dinner and dessert.

Our dinner at Salt was truly amazing! The atmosphere was gorgeous, the staff was friendly and made sure to make our entire evening special. The tasting salts were out of this world and both entrees were delicious. My filet and lobster was divine and the candy bar soufflé was the finishing touch! I highly recommend this place for a romantic night out, our table overlooked the ocean which was the finishing touch!

Was there on vacation. Disappointed that we did not receive the table with a view as was requested when making the reservation a few weeks in advance. However, they made up for it with free desert. Food was very good.
