For the first course Chef Elek demonstrates how to make a savory galette with grilled peaches and a whipped cardamom crème fraiche. A galette is a term used in French cuisine to designate free form crusty cakes and is the perfect vessel for the spicy peach filling. The second course is roasted duck with fresh plum sauce showcasing some classic butchering methods with some modern cooking techniques. The decadent roast duck is the perfect pairing for the sweet and sour plum sauce.

Together, both Chef'sf hosted Ripert’s esteemed annual Cayman Cookout a four day gathering of celebrity chefs offering unique epicurean experiences. On January 24, Chefs Okan and Thomas will reunite at Salt to present a collaborative five-course dinner with wines matched by Cayman Cookout alumnus Michael Kennedy with wineries located in Napa Valley, Oregon, Bordeaux and Tuscany. Red Snapper Ceviche was delicious. Halibut and pasta with seafood were also delicious. Excellent service. The guitarist provided exceptional experience. Perfect all around.
Amazing experience. The seafood pasta was plentiful and the lobster sherry emulsion made for a perfect sauce. The tenderloin lived up to its name. Lobster paella and snapper ceviche were brilliant ways to start. First rate service and exceptional acoustic electric guitar work by Taylor. All-in-all the quintessential romantic evening you’d hope for on an anniversary.
The service was great. They made my birthday dinner exceptional! The only issue was that one of our steaks from the Chef's tasting menu was not cooked correctly but they quickly prepared a second steak that was cooked perfectly. Wine pairings were great too. I would love to return to celebrate again next time I'm on the island. It was definitely a memorable experience.

When you think of the Ritz-Carlton, you think high touch. And we had heard that Salt was unbelievable. While the meal itself was very good, it was the little things that have me dinging the overall experience. One example, even though I booked online weeks ahead of time, the earliest time we could sit down was 8:30 PM. I called twice a couple of days ahead to see if anything earlier might be available. I got voice-mail twice, left a message twice, and got no call back. This is Amelia Island, not NYC. 8:30 PM for dinner in late! When we checked in at about noon, I asked the concierge of the hotel if any earlier tables might be available, he assured me that there were not (and gave me the feeling that we should feel lucky that we got that!) So we show up at 8:20 for our table - figuring we could go to the bar, if needed, for a drink first. Nobody at the hostess stand. Almost nobody in the bar. We wait. Hostess finally rushes up, apologizes, and explains that "they are a bit crazy" because they had had to seat a party of 20 that arrived without reservations. Huh?!? 20??? Without reservations? What about my table for 2?
Anyway, there were multiple other little things that were just not "Ritz" quality. I have to assume that, like many places, the Ritz is dealing with Covid-related staffing issues and I have to cut them (as I do others) some slack.
But most of the issues that night were training-related items. And Ritz is known for their incredible training programs. So I cannot just let them slide on this. The food was very good. But you are also expecting to feel "special" when you show up at Salt and I cannot say that that happened. At least not to us. I will, however, try again to see if it was a one-time thing.
We had an incredible anniversary dinner at Salt. Our server, Olga, made incredible recommendations and took great care of us throughout dinner. The food was delicious and we will definitely be back.
The food and service here are so wonderful. We were talking at dinner saying we hadn’t had a meal this nice since Le Bernardin in NYC and lo and behold- the chef used to work there! Makes sense, because the seafood preparations were all perfect. Our server, Eva, was lovely and knowledgeable. Will definitely return!
If you want to be treated extra, extra special on your birthday, the head over to SALT. Salt is by far the most elegant restaurant on Amelia Island. They have a new chef who is even more talented than the last one. The wait staff and support staff are extremely professional, always anticipating the next step. Thank you!

Was our 30th anniversary. They had our names on the menu preprinted . Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. She gave me salted caramel to take home too
Wonderful evening- food impeccable, service top notch - we had six people and ordered a variety of selections- all amazing!! Best meal we have had since Covid!
Every single bite was wonderful! Eva was an excellent server, helpful with suggestions, and pleasant. In fact, everyone was top notch. Our party of four had octopus and ceviche for appetizers, and salmon and strip loin for entrees. Top it off with cookies and cream mousse and chocolate dessert. Loved the little tasters from the chef as well. Definitely worth the price!
Vacation with friends
One of the best meals we’ve had in a while. He had the Cobia and I had the seafood pasta. We got the candy bar soufflé and it did not disappoint. Great experience

We celebrated my wife's birthday with a party of 7. Robert the matra de of the restaurant helped with ordering a special cake and toast to my wife. Amazing is all I can say. You expect the Ritz to be special, but in Robert's skilled hands it is beyond special. Thanks to all at Salt for great food, service and a night to remember. RL

The attentive and knowledgeable wait staff added to the ambiance and the complete appreciation of the meal. We started with the Fois Gras, which was the best we’ve had outside of France. The Cobia was also delicious — the curated rice which accompanied the fish was unexpected and enhanced the dish. Don’t miss ordering a soufflé for dessert early. We’ll worth it!! All in, we had a wonderful meal and evening.
Great food, outstanding service. We had attentive care from our server (Stacey), the manager and the chef at our table from beginning to departure. A live guitarist enhanced the already elegant ambience. The chef’s special was delicious and the wine parings superb.
I had seafood pasta the shrimp was over cooked and the put micro greens in it and it had cilantro in it and that’s a judge turnoff for me. Cilantro is over used by chefs ! I have had better meals at other Ritz carltons.

The experience was so wonderful. My husband and I let them know in out reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary. They went out of their way to make us feel special by putting happy anniversary at the top of a special menu and even brought out a complimentary desert plate that said happy anniversary! It was so special and they were friendly and exceeded any requests we had. We will be going back. We tried the snapper ceviche, the seafood pasta(my favorite), the beef tenderloin, and the cookie butter souffle which was phenomenal.👍
We celebrated our 19 th anniversary and my wife was overwhelmed by the dining experience, which meant I was very happy since i chose SALT. The attention to detail from the menu with our name and event on it to Patty our server who was very attentive and even the six string guitar player in the hotel lobby who was playing bossa nova - my wife is Brazilian! The chefs choice was exceptional: was a little confused at first to be honest but once we started it was really a memorable dining experience. We raved about the restaurant to our friends and am now writing this review - which I rarely do!
Wonderful meal. We had the Dine with the Chef table, a special table for no more than six that my wife and I reserved months ago to celebrate her birthday. We got to watch the entire kitchen staff put together the meal and our personal attendant explained everything that was going on. Had several times during the meal, the head chef came in to speak with us. It was an incredible experience that we would highly recommend to any foodie or romantic.
