The place is cute and very chic. The drinks were great and the brunch was amazing!
After me and my daughter were seated not one waitress acknowledged us or stopped by our table. We waited 20 minutes and no one ever came to our table to even take our drink order!! It was not that busy and there were about five waitresses, a bartender, and a hostess. We walked out and still no one ever noticed us. Very very disappointing since it was a birthday lunch for my daughter.
We could not have asked for a better experience. We’re celebrating a birthday and we picked out the cake downstairs and they served it upstairs with cocktails and festivities. Lovely experience. ❤️❤️
We were there for brunch celebrating my granddaughter’s birthday. The experience was delightful!
Went to salon by sucre for bachelorette brunch on a recent trip to NOLA. The first floor is the sweet shop & the aroma is so inviting. Upstairs is the actual restaurant and the staff who assisted us were all so warm and informative on their menu. Food was so good & the servings were more than we expected. Would definitely go back if I lived closer!
Most of the food was good. They did not have any whole grain bread options but I was able to substitute salad for fries with my BOLT sandwich and the oysters and bacon were perfect. The Afternoon Tea was unimpressive, ginger sanwiches were on the dry side and some of the deserts were a bit stale or tasted like they had absorbed refrigerator odors. The tea my daughter ordered was on the menu but was not available. Downstairs the Macrons were much fresher and we saw the tea that wasn’t available upstairs in boxes downstairs. I would eat at Salon again but I don’t recommend the Tea.
How excited we were to visit Salon by Sucre for the first time. Unfortunately, we didn’t have wonderful experience that we were expecting.
First, the cheese and charcuterie board was not available.
Second, the wait staff that we experienced were super polite and courteous. However, the disappointment came from the wait staffs service skills. The two servers didn’t bring drinks when requested, did not keep our water glasses or coffee filled without having to ask.
Third, the food was presented in a manner that was very enjoyable to look at. In addition, the taste of the good was really nice.
Based on our individual groups experience, we would not return to this eatery, except for deserts of course.
I’ve been to your place a lot... I work just around the corner. Our waitress was kind and very professional, but slow... took her at less 10 minutes to acknowledge the table....
I got the caprese sandwich and the bread was bit over done...very crispy and dark. Very hard to eat. The toppings delicious.
All in all it was good. But usually excellent.
Our food was amazing! Our drinks were good as well. My only complaint is the service. Our server barely checked on us even though we were in an area that she constantly walked past, she just completely avoided eye contact! Also, one of the food runners was rude to me when he brought out the food for the other 5 people at my table. I just looked around wondering if someone else was behind him bringing my food and he loudly said "BE PATIENT". My food then came out 10 MINUTES after everyone else's. Although I enjoyed the beet salad, I was not warned that it was not the listed ingredients in salad form, but instead as like a rolled beet volcano. Very delicious, just caught me off guard! That probably had something to do with why my food took even longer than the cooked meals my friends got but nevertheless, I was expecting a salad with beets on/in it so I was offended by the rude tone of the food runner. Go, get bottomless mimosas (or just 1 like I did), and have a good time chatting with your friends over brunch!
Wonderful as always
Girls Night Out
A little underwhelming. The scene was great. Cute sweet shoppe below and the restaurant was great. But the service was SLOW. Was without silver ware even though our food was at the table. Had to ask multiple times. The food was also VERY bland. This was the biggest surprise because it’s New Orleans and we expected better flavor. The sweet shoppe was lovely, probably wouldn’t come back here.
I was so excited for this place, but left disappointed (and on my birthday nonetheless). I requested a balcony table in my reservation and mentioned it was my birthday. They said the tables outside were booked, as well as an inside booth table we requested afterwards. No one was ever seated at those tables. No one even wished me a happy birthday. Our appetizer came out wrong, and our Benedict's came out cold. All of my stars go to ambiance. Will not be back and don't recommend.
Such a fun place to have a birthday party, baby or bridal shower. Excellent food and great ambiance!
We were a party of five celebrating my husband's birthday. We are all foodies. None of us enjoyed our meal. The only exception was the cheese board we ordered as and appetizer.
Four for afternoon tea. It was delightful! Maybe a bit heavy on the sweets versus the savory, but every bite was good!
Mardi Gras tea was just fabulous!! Food was so delicious. So enjoyed it.
Beet salad was heavenly. Server provided extraordinary service. A bit loud with everyone having fun! We will be back!
Horrible service. This place is usually my favorite go to brunch spot but today was very disappointing. 25 minutes after we were seated we ordered the tea service but were informed they were sold out. No water for 30 minutes. It took 2 and a half hours to get our food. The waitress took 20 minutes every time to bring cocktails to us. The place was not even crowded. There were empty tables around us.
Great food!! Great atmosphere!
It was very clear that the one waitress they had working the second floor was overwhelmed it was also clear that the kitchen was extremely slow it should not take an hour and a half or three girls to get through to rounds of drinks and brunch it took 45 minutes to get our appetizers out
The restaurant is beautiful, food is fabulous and service was great.
I made reservations for 6 for the Carnival Tea. We arrived and were told they were out of tea service. They had tea but not the food items from the menu (which is strange because most of the tea service items were being sold in the bakery downstairs). So we ordered lunch items from the regular menu. We tried to order dessert but they said they were out of most of the items but we could walk downstairs and get something from the bakery. Since it's all the same menu items I have no idea why they would say they were "out". Then as we were leaving they were setting up a tea for another party. I have no idea what the secret password is to be able to order the tea service but we clearly didn't know it.
Came across the Salon website while casting about for a lunch venue between tours in the Quarter and was taken by the menu and the pictures. Arriving at Sucre and walking up the stairs, we were delighted by the welcoming look and feel of the room and the immediate attention of the staff. The brunch menu is wonderful. Blending a Croque Monsieur with eggs Benedict gives you the Croque Benedict and it was perfection, as were the three Sazeracs I enjoyed while we lingered. My wife and our good friend both reveled in the Carnival Tea with Oliver cocktails. Service was personal, professional and charming. A definite must-do in the Quarter.
Brought the in-laws for brunch. Fantastic food, Aubrey was very attentive as our waiter. Great tea selections.
We stumbled across Sucre on OpenTable because there was an available reservation right then. It was a gem! The food was creative and fresh, which was hard to find around the French Quarter. All we wanted was some veggies and brunch, and this really delivered. Our server was great and new the menu really well. She was gave helpful suggestions for subbing out some meat for a different item for my vegetarian friend. (The other server let us stand at the top of the stairs for ten minutes while she talked to a friend. When she finally talked to us we told her about our Open Table reservation but she didn't mark us as there, so I had to deal with a no-show email from OT -- so she was super annoying and I'm glad she wasn't our server. But do make sure that they mark your OT reservation as completed.) The ambiance was great and the place is very enjoyably decorated. We also got some macarons to go from the bakery downstairs and they were incredible. The salted caramel was the best macaron I've ever had!
This was the third year we have come here for their holiday tea, and the first year that it was kind of a disaster. They ran out of tea pots, tea cups and platters, and the three tiered serving displays - not to mention some tea as well. The first course to 45 minuets to arrive at the table, and the last course looked improvised as if they ran downstairs to grab items from the display. We were comped 3 of the 6 teas, which we’re grateful for. I was just surprised how unprepared they were this year.
Food was okay but finger sandwiches were a bit dry.
Service by our server was okay but the bar man was really good.
Price wasn't too bad.
The desserts are to die for but the food is terrible! We came this morning and the Christmas decorations were scant, and what was there looked like Melania Trump's Christmas decorations. I had the Croque Benedict which was a subpar version of eggs benedict. The bacon was good but the biscuit and the special sauce and raclette were all sour and terrible. The Hollandaise was scant. On a positive note, their Paris Black tea is good. My mom got something called Fritzel sticks, which were meant to be like Pretzels but were not very good and didn't taste anything like them.
Tea was very nice. Lots of fun things treats to try.
One of my favorite places in New Orleans. We went for the Holiday Tea but they were not serving it that day due to a large party. Disappointed in that. But still had a great lunch and love the creative cocktails and atmosphere
On our recent visit to NOLA, this was the only major disappointment of our entire 5 days. On a somewhat positive note, we ordered the fritzels... pricey for 5 sticks with dipping sauce that tasted awful (even the server said she didn't like it at all) BUT.. she brought some butter and we sprinkled some vanilla sugar on them to make them a yummy appetizer. The service was polite but very slow...and we were ignored much of the time because of a big party in a back room. The chicken salad was literally tasteless..my jasmine tea was bitter and when I asked for sugar, I was given the pink, blue and yellow packs (really? No sugar? ) Although the tea was served in a cute little pot, it didn't strain most of the tea leaves. Maybe they wanted me to read my tea leaves at the botton of my cup? We noticed a long line downstairs buying sweet treats..maybe they are wonderful, but don't go for lunch. The food nor service lives up to its reputarion... we highly recommend Brennan's (on Royal) and Praline's (on Frenchman).
My wife and I went for lunch one day and loved our food and drinks. At the time they even had a macaroon flight paired with a whiskey flight. One word, Amazing!
Enjoyed a beautiful day having lunch on the balcony.
Food was delicious. Started with French onion soup, the best I've ever had & the crawfish mac n cheese.
For lunch I had the chicken n waffle, it was delicious. My niece had the chicken salad sandwich & she loves.
We also each enjoyed a pot of tea with our lunch.
Our server was excellent & very friendly.
Went there for lunch. Had the fish and chips which were cooked perfectly. It was quite tasty, except I thought the fries had just a touch too much salt but still not bad. I had the dark chocolate gelato downstairs at Sucré itself and it was outrageously delicious. I’ve had good gelato before but this was ridiculous in good way. My wife had the Mac & Cheese which she enjoyed as well as the Cafe au lait gelato. We enjoyed the weather and the view on the balcony which was great but the inside of the restaurant is amazing.
My eggs benedict with mornay sauce and ham was perfection and worth the trip! However, my friends all had food envy. Another friend had the egg sandwich and didn't care for the bun, said it was like a hamburger bun? And didn't care for the potato side (poutine?). My other two friends had the garden salad, with raspberries. Delish and fresh, but the chicken add on less than exciting ... simply luncheon meat, shaped beautifully. We love the ambience, beautiful space, service was great, but food was hit and miss. We give it another try. And love the ease of making reservations on OpenTable.
Thank you for a wonderful meal
My friends certainly enjoined it
We all live in the Quarter and will try to visit more often
Awesome! Really good service and really good food. The Chicken and waffles while not traditional is one of the best I have had. The Phantom Macaroon and Bourbon & Rye flight pairing was a dream come true. Two of my favorite things done well-together. The cardamom rose macaroon and black sesame macaroons were memorable. Looking forward to the next tasting flight and an excuse to come back!
Service was good and very accommodating. Food was below par for food in New Orleans-sent back twice and then chose another dish.
