Rolls are very ricey and not much fish. The tuna sampler was double the portion for sashimi. Not my favorite
But wen you make a reservation make sure to tell the host you don’t have rush at time of eating (if you have time)
Reason ? I made reservation 4:30 we get on time, we order slow because we have time and try to have a good time with the family, but around hour later we decide to order more, at the time waiter took our order and bring the food, 10 minutes later the host approach and ask we have certain time because they have another reservation in our table ... I decide order the bill and pay.
NEVER COME AGAIN !!!!! we were customers for a years ... SORRY !!!!
We had a wonderful time here and the food was SO GOOD! Prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are perfect. Beautiful location! Best sushi in San Diego!
Yummy sushi and drinks
Nice to be there for happy hour. The sushi is always great.
It was great
This is a great restaurant. I recommend it highly. The sushi is very fresh and the presentations are unique. Our waiter was very helpful and passionate in explaining the various menu options and the flavors of the many different sakis. Plus the bill was cheaper than what we pay at home. A must-do if you are a sushi fan visiting Coronado.
OK spot if you are out on Coronado Island. Would not recommend going out-of-my-way to get to it.
Food was great, go for Happy Hour there are AMAZING deals!
Food is awesome , The regular bartenders Ryan and Ricky are great , personable , make great drinks , customer friendly , the wait staff has a nice mix or long term employees , and they do a good job training new people , service is always excellent , hostess is sometimes an issue , not friendly , does not remember regulars , or make any extra effort with customers that are in on a very frequent basis ,
Always a great experience at Saiko Sushi. Delicious food, friendly staff.
Nothing beats sitting outside on Orange Ave watching the crowd in Coronado. Add great Sake and some amazing sushi and you’re in for a outstanding dinner!
Excellent sushi, nice location, great service. Listen to the sushi chef and try his recommendations for a great meal!
Fresh fish in a casual relaxed setting. Delicious!
It took me 3 tries to eat at Saiko. Booked at 530pm on a weekday with over an hour wait. Takeout sushi also had an hour wait on another try. I would highly recommend reservations if you have more than 2 people. Happy hour pricing is pretty good for Coronado. The service however was poor. I was never brought water nor was I asked if I wanted a second drink. I was stuck with one beer the entire meal and the server barely checked on us.
The appetizers were not impressive. I swear the shrimp tater tots had the smallest shrimp I have ever seen. The sushi was tasty but not worth $14 a roll. We were very unimpressed with our dining experience and will most likely not be returning.
Always a wonderful experience. Chef Daniel never disappoints
Carla always finds the perfect bottle of sake.
Saiko Sushi has been one of our favorite on the Island, until this summer. Not sure if there are new owners, new chefs or a turn over of employees. We went twice in one week hoping that the first time was just a fluke. Nope, terrible service both times. Both times our food took forever, they messed up our order and the sushi it self was just ok. Back to Yummy Sushi or OTB.
Sashimi was fresh. Great Sake selection. Sushi chef was very helpful.
Usually have a good experience at Saiko, service was a disaster
I have had better sushi at trader Joe's
Great sushi rolls. Try the Saiko miso!
Usually a favorite spot for us but the blackboard special was not good the fish tasted like it had been siting our under a lamp and my husband said it was like gas station sushi. Usually amazing but this trip was a bad experience.
Food was delicious, service was friendly and professional.
Visitors in town
We make it a point to come here every time we are in town. The sushi is great and the service is wonderful which unfortunately can be a rarity in San Diego!
Amazing food, great vibe, even better server/chef - John Carlow. Thanks for everything!
We had a lot of fun in uptown Coronado at Saiko Sushi. What a beautiful location and atmosphere. The younger kids that cleared the tables didn't seem to be having a good time but everyone else was upbeat and happy.
The rolls and blackboard special were amazing. It would be nice if the server let you know the order of the fish and description of the blackboard special when delivering the meal.
What a nice neighborhood place. We visited from Seattle and went to Saiko twice. The saiko roll was excellent; I recommend it with the orange IPA draft. They also had chopstick helpers which kept our kids occupied.
great dinner great place
The Saiko miso is hands down the best miso I’ve ever had!
Second time visiting this spot, most likely won't be a third. The service was so very slow and the wait staff was very hurried in taking order, but not very fast in anything else. We were there to celebrate a birthday, waitress never acknowledge it, but watched her take birthday dessert to two other tables ?, They were out of 2 of the drinks we ordered, was served Sushi 10 min. before our hot dishes came to the table, and they only got there because the hostess noticed we weren't eating and asked why? She went and got them. Oh and the Orange Chicken is VERY spicy which it is not listed as such on the menu, We even had to wait to flag down someone to get our check. Sushi is great but rolls are expensive, recommend coming during happy hour. Maybe it was an off night but with so many mishaps, it wouldn't be worth risking going through again just to get Sushi.
This is our "go-to" sushi place on Coronado. Excellent variety, and they try to use sustainable fish in their sushi. We were happy to sit with Oscar at the bar, and he created an amazing vegetarian roll for us, along with some other great offerings. All the sushi chefs are excellent. Nice sake selection, and a nightly dinner special for those who prefer cooked food.
Nice food. Affordable
Great meal. Sushi was fresh, service was good, and I would go again.
Always so good! Love this place!
My go to for sushi. They have the BEST sushi flights and the crown roll is my fav!
In Open Table you cannot tell that the seating is outdoors. It is December and although it's San Diego, it was not comfortable sitting outdoors and eating in coats.
Loved the Saiko and Crown rolls, and the Apocalypto cocktail. Happy hour is a great deal!
