Lamb Cooked With A Cream Of Baby Spinach
Fresh Brussel Sprouts Oven Roasted And Tossed In Creamy Mustard Sauce
As with all of our many previous trips, the food and service at Saffron were wonderful. This has become a frequent neighborhood stop for us and we’ll keep coming back often in the future.
Saffron remains our favorite Indian restaurant in Austin. It's not perfect, but it is excellent. (Hint: we avoid the lamb dishes because the fat isn't entirely trimmed.) The Nepalese items are excellent, too, and we usually have at least one of them when we dine at Saffron.
The setting in a strip mall was originally disconcerting. The greeting at the entrance of a serving staff saying take any table was offputting. The staff serving meal changed three times by my count. The good news was the food was great. Our final server made some great suggestions about the menu selections. The service staff never let our water glasses go empty.
Excellent as always. Tried recent additions to the menu all excellent.
I love Indian buffets in general and the one at Saffron does not disappoint. Good selection of hot dishes. Staff is attentive and friendly.
Saffron is always consistently delicious! Everything from the appetizers to dinner to the Naan is amazing. I’ve recommended saffron to several people and they all agree it’s the best Indian in town. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out!
Great, down home Indian food. Nothing fancy, just good food and good people.
Achari chicken at a medium spicy level is full of great flavor!
Ordered 4 items. All were delicious. Great place.
A nice neighborhood restaurant with BYOB - an added bonus! Four of us had a total tab of $100 before tip. We always tip 30% since we bring wine, and they don't charge a corkage. Also, they have things other restaurants don't have, like a goat curry.
Always a great meal. One of our kids favorite restaurants so we'll gladly tag along. Great service and the food is consistently very good.
Enjoyed the selection, service, ambiance and cuisine.
Very good food and service. We will be back!
Always enjoy Saffron, best Indian cuisine that we have found in Austin. Friendly, accommodating staff and love the BYOB. Very reasonably priced and great value.
Delicious food. Service was a little slow but the restaurant was very busy. The food is worth it
This restaurant is not pretentious but what they do have is great food and service. I have eaten about 4 of their appetizers and several entrees and have never been disappointed. We eat there several times a month. Only thing is they have no liquor license so you have to bring your own wine or beer if you want an alcoholic beverage.
Excellent food, really great staff. We had the mixed grill (recommended by the waiter) and the chicken marinated in orange from the Tandoori specials, and they were both excellent. The naan and the papadums were freshly made and tasty. The lamb rogan josh was also wonderfully rich.
A reasonable, casual eatery, with a good selection on menu.
Excellent Indian food! Garlic naan bread was a bit doughy, but still good. We look forward to eating at the Bee Caves location.
The Bombay Brussels are AWESOME!! The saffron naan is so delicious order 2.
Hesitant when I walked in, as they didn’t have biryani. But our group took some recommendations from our server and we were very impressed. I’ll happily drive past the similar places nearer to my home to get here. Totally worth the drive.
Delicious! So glad it’s in our neighborhood!
Lovely Saturday lunch buffet to celebrate two birthdays. I enjoy Indian food often and always find something new on the buffet.
The food is fantastic and consistently delicious. We have never been disappointed and several family members and friends that we have introduced to Saffron’s agree. Value is very good
Great fusion food 😊 nice ambience, great service. Veggie options ++ Bombay Brussels n portobello mushrooms, veggie monos must try
Amazing!! Food has the most unexpected and wonderful combinations of flavors!!! We accidentally booked our reservation for a Saffron in Austin , TX. We arrived at 7pm with a party of 6 and discovered my error. The owner was extremely gracious and got us seated even on a fully committed night.
Delicious Indian Food; great service just remember to take your own wine as it is not served here.
Outstanding quality and service on a slow night.
BYOB policy--5 stars plus !!
There was food stuck on the wall next to our table. It wasn’t horrible, however I’ve had better frozen Indian food.
after my first time at Saffron i highly recommend this spot and will be coming back again. we had great service. both the server and the manager (i presume) did a great job of checking in on us, making sure we didn't need anything else, kept water glasses full, etc. food was excellent, as well as, fresh. i understand that they have a lunch buffet and i will definitely make it a point of checking that out in the future.
This is some of the best Indian food in Austin and at a very reasonable price. I really like that it's BYOB and they don't charge a corkage. Not every Indian restaurant serves brussels sprouts and caulflower as appetizers or a green goat curry, so they get extra points for creativity. Service is pleasant and efficient.
Great manager and staff made us feel welcome and attended. Loved that there was no corking fee and we could bring our own wine.
Loved it!! Best Indian I’ve had in Austin. Not a “fancy” restaraunt but the food was outstanding and the service was great. You can bring your own wine!
We were really pleasantly surprised with the quality & ambiance given it is in a strip mall. The food was extremely well prepared. We will definitely be back.
Excellent food all around. Absolutely nothing was out of place or wrong.
Great food, but clearly understaffed. I would return, but only for the food, not the ambiance, service, or experience.
Great food and service!!!
One of the best kept secrets in Austin. Great Indian Nepalese food. Wonderful service. BYOB.
Have been going to this restaurant since it opened. The food is always outstanding. This particular event on Valentine’s Day was not what we usually experienced. Our waitress was challenged beyond her ability. They have opened a second location and the staff has been moved around to accommodate the new location. I discussed this with the manager Neal and he explained the reasons. Will always go back mainly for two reasons the food and Neal. Hopeful Neal will read this and make the adjustments. He is the reason the place does so well. Highly recommend.
