In the picturesque rural village of Arroyo Seco a few miles north of Taos, Sabroso offers exquisite American and Global cuisine nightly for dinner. Dine fireside, on the patio, or in our intimate bar where live entertainment can be enjoyed 4 nights a week. House specialties include freshly squeezed margaritas, crab cakes, wood-grilled steaks and fish, and many appetizers. We offer 20 different wines from around the world by the glass. Our award-winning wine list has over 130 wines from all major wine regions at prices ranging from $30 to over $300 with most in the $40 to $60 range. We offer more than 100 different liquor selections, twenty beers by the bottle, and four New Mexico beers on tap. Our menu features many locally-sourced items including New Mexico lamb and pork. You may sit in the air-conditioned inside bar or dining room or select the outside covered portal, the patio bar, or the intimate plum grove. Sabroso is located on State Highway 150 4.7 miles north of US Highway 64.

Not sure I will be going back... I am sort of a two time looser with this place. I suspect, for Taos locals this place is maybe the best place in Town and the staff takes care of them well. But only visiting Taos a couple times a year, I keep getting bad service (glacial speed, wrong orders) and the food has some serious missed (rissoto should not be crunchy).

We had an early reservation and when we were approached by the server she acted as if it was an inconvenience. She did not inform us at the time that she listed the specials that items had been removed from the menu. So we tried to order something from the menu that was not being offered and she became upset that we found it irritating.

We ordered lamb and filet mignon. The filet was good except the sauce that they covered it with and it was very bland. The lamb was OK, it was cooked well but a little tasteless. The artichoke hearts that was served with the lamb were interesting. You know those little jars of artichoke hearts packed in vinegar that you see at the store. Well it tasted like they had taken those hearts and grilled them so all you could taste was the vinegar.

Sorry, we were looking forward to a nice evening with good food and good service and we received neither.

Secluded restaurant and bar in small town of Arroyo Seco about 7 miles north of Taos. I had a dinner special of sea scallops surrounded by tasty polenta and a ring of delicious, crispy, flash-fried spinach. My vegetarian friends chose spicy tomato chipotle soup and sides of asparagus and potatoes. The Silver Coin margarita made with fresh lime juice, premium tequila, and cointreau was pricy, but delicious. After dinner we moved to the cozy bar to listen to live music (6:30 - 9:30 pm). Lovely evening.

We visited Sabroso as a result of recommendations from folks we spoke to while visiting down town Taos. We were very disappointing with the food. They use high quality ingredients but lacked flavor. While my New York Steak (nightly special and $42.00) was tender it lacked any seasoning. My husbands ribs should have fallen off the bone and didn't. The BBQ sauce was lack luster. Tasted like Catchup base with only a little touch up. All in all the cook that night must have been the "B" team. At least that's my hope.

Was told that the birthday dessert was complementary and yet was charged $9 on the tab. Cocktail sauce for the shrimp had too much horse radish. Loved Jimmy Stadler.

We had been to Sabroso before to listen to the amazing Jimmy Stadler, but on this occasion, we came to dine! We were early for our reservation, but the hostess seated us right away nonetheless. Our server was patient and helpful in every way! My husband had the Bison Short Ribs - oh my goodness!!!! ~ absolute perfection! For dessert, the chef prepared Duck Egg Cardamon Crème Brulee. The best thing I have ever had! The patio is wonderful. We enjoyed our cocktails without feeling rushed to order. Such a great experience.

I would recommend it only for the food this visit - - that's because there was no vibrant bar scene, no music (as planned), not many people - apparently the night before they had been packed. I think it must have been a ticketed music event because when making reservations that night was not even on their calendar. I have loved going to Sabroso when visiting Taos. We love the patio seating in good weather, their food is amazing, and the music very nice and not distracting; however this time there was not much going on. So it was disappointing. However, we will try it again!!!

It's a beautiful restaurant and we're happy we tried it. The atmosphere is so nice and our waiter was wonderful. We felt our entrees were mediocre, though, for such a lovely restaurant. Nice presentation, but the flavors weren't as special as we hoped they would be. I would definitely recommend Sabroso for drinks and appetizers, which were all delicious, and quite special.

Second visit this summer. Both trips equally great with the exception of slow service (very friendly though) on the first trip. That was corrected on the second visit.

Both visits fetchered Jimmy Stadler on the patio. He's a great singer and guitarist.

We went to Sabroso the previous night and found the food, service and ambiance much better the previous evening. With so few good choices for dinner in Taos, this place rates as an acceptable alternative to most others in NM.

We were pleasantly surprised by the great food and energy in. this little jewel of a restaurant out on the high desert floor! The food was excellent and the service was good. We were pleasantly surprised to find a nice little band playing country music with plenty of dancing! All in all this place was nice we will defiantly plan to go again if we have the chance.
