About the restaurant
Le Yaca began in 1964 in Courchevel, a tiny, country village in the French Alps. Daniele Bourderau & Gerard decided it would be fun to open a small restaurant. When friends learned of their plans, they told the hopeful restaurateurs they were crazy to think people would drive eight kilometers on a winding, icy road for dinner. Daniele and Gerard hesitated for three months and then decided, “yaca le faire,” a contraction of the French phrase “il n’y a qu’a le faire,” which basically means, “let’s do it.” They called the restaurant Le Yaca as a gag, but the name caught on with customers who were amused by the pun and contributed to the restaurant’s lore by inventing “yaca-isms” of their own: yaca y aller (let’s go). Daniele came to the United States and opened Le Yaca in Williamsburg. Daniel Abid bought Le Yaca in 2001. Daniel worked and trained in such prestigious places as “Le Pre Catelan” and “Lenotre” in Paris; “L’Amandier” and “Roger Verge," and to top it all off, “Alain Ducasse.”

Food at Le Yaca is always great. A little too loud for us last night. Still a great place to celebrate an anniversary.

The sophisticated but relaxed dining room has an open kitchen, which uses fresh, local ingredients for its creative American fare. Reservations for the dining room and the bar are recommended and may be made up to 2 months in advance. Open daily for dinner, a hostess is available during the day to take reservations by phone.

Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Object to the additional kitchen charge. Pay the kitchen an appropriate wage.

About the restaurant
The Gabriel Archer Tavern was built in 1987 on footprints of an old farm shed. Today, its mission is to provide a memorable farm-to-table dining experience that's both delicious and nourishing.

In addition to a half-acre produce garden and greenhouse on site where lettuces and herbs will be grown, our chef works hard to find local farmers as partners in producing a menu oriented towards fresh and seasonal specialties.

Our wide variety of fresh selections from our unique menu will guarantee that everyone in your party leaves with a smile.

Service is always excellent. No different today. My salad was just as I ordered and delicious. But I think the add one for the basic salad are pricey. The only disappointment today was my coffee order. The coffee was lukewarm and there was only milk, no creamer available. I returned the coffee and decided not to have another ordered.

As always, Couchon never disappoints! We had a perfect meal - best scallops anywhere accompanied by perfectly cooked asparagus and carrot and new potatoes. The special pound cake dessert was scrumptious. Best of all, our server, Greer, was a delight - knowledgeable, attentive, and solicitous with a subtle sense of humor. All in all, we happily enjoyed a perfect night. Thank you!

A must-dine experience at Colonial Williamsburg. Every dish we ordered was superb and the personal service was impeccable. It is very expensive, but was worth it for the memories made.

The food and service were excellent. We had the baked stuff oysters, she crab soup. Our entree(s) were crab cake and beef filet Oscar, both of which were very good. The only drawback was the location . In a small strip mall off the main rd. The inside was nice and comfortable, just not esthetically pleasing. Other than that, the food was superb.

About the restaurant
A culinary adventure in modern fine-dining.

The Williamsburg Inn is pleased to present the Rockefeller Room, the crown jewel of Abby and John D. Rockefeller Jr.’s home away from home. The featured menu is a five-course prix-fixe menu with available wine pairings from the Inn’s world class cellar. We are delighted to offer the finest and most luxurious ingredients from local watermen, farmers, and worldly artisans.

The Rockefeller’s revered opulence, therefore, we developed our menu to offer an evening filled with extravagance. Familiar flavors paired with southern hospitality reflect the soul of our story, history, and the melting pot of ingredients brought to our country from its inception.

Before we begin, we may be limited in our ability to modify our menu, especially for severe allium and dairy allergies. However, with advance notice, we will be happy to accommodate any allergy with customized menu adjustments.
