Kinaara is Chef Ashish Sathyan's scratch Indian restaurant. We specialize in dishes from Kerala but feature from all over the diverse sub-continent. Try our famous Butter Chicken but also add on a dish you probably have never heard of, all of it will be amazing. You will find items that are not on any other menu, such as Grandma's Fish and Mango Curry and beef specials. We are a small casual restaurant that let's the food be the star.

Modern Love continues to be my favorite restaurant! That's partly because I'm a vegan, and it's partly because it's always a wonderful experience being there. Almost every table was full, but the noise level was still quite low and did not bother our conversation Issa was in New York, and I was sad not to see her. But it was great seeing James, and we talked about the first days of Modern Love Omaha ten years ago. Happy memories! My friend and I each had an enormous Reuben sandwich with an enormous amount of french fries. Delicioso! Of course I had to have the pumpkin cheesecake for dessert, and it was heavenly as always. I've had countless excellent evenings at Modern Love, and last night was another one. Ahhhh

The first Oven Restaurant, located in the heart of downtown Lincoln, has been around since 1988 and owned/operated by a dedicated family of chefs who have been creating Indian cuisine for over twenty seven years. The Oven Restaurants specialize in Northern Indian Cuisine which is known for its rich colors, flavor profiles and a unique style of cooking in a clay oven, called the Tandoor. Chicken, shrimp and lamb marinate for several hours in a yogurt and spice mixture and placed on skewers while various breads are being hand made by our chefs fresh each day. The skewers and breads are then placed in the tandoor over an open flame where breads are cooked to perfection and the rich flavors are sealed in to ensure tenderness and quality of the meat. Whether you enjoy the historic Haymarket atmosphere to the relaxed vibe of the Cellar, we have what you want!

Some of the popular cuisine choices at this place include Twisted cork burger, Wild salmon with miso vinaigrette, Alaskan halibut, Plum Creek chicken breast, Piedmontese ribeye steak, seared scallops and seafood cioppino. The restaurant serves scrumptious appetizers, sides, soups, salads and desserts as well.

The service and food are always great. And there is a wonderful list of wines! Although it was very quiet in the bar area last night, I had requested the south end of the restaurant. This is the second time I have had a request that wasn’t honored. Last time when I asked, it was due to a private event in that space. The couple we met were already seated this time and I didn’t bother to ask about the table. It’s a bit frustrating to make a request that doesn’t get honored.

The 3 of us had a very enjoyable evening. Each of us ordered different appetizers, and different entrees. Alex and Ryan did an excellent job as did the person who brought some of our dishes.
