Had some sashimi there, quite fresh. I liked it. Overall good experience, though still find it a little bit on the pricier side.

Tucked away down a narrow hallway, No Relation is a nine-seat, secret sushi restaurant nestled within Shore Leave, a tropical experience from the team at Bar Mezzana and Black Lamb. The sushi is amazing, the dumplings appetizer is delicious, and the small intimate atmosphere with TVs and a small bar makes it a fun place to visit. May, a Server, is delightful, friendly, and attentive.

When diners enter this stylish restaurant in the heart of Boston’s Back Bay – steps away from the South End & Theater District – they are immediately enveloped in earth tones, rich dark wood and the airiness of high ceilings reverberating with the energy and excitement of the space. One of the best meal experiences in Boston. The service was impeccable (given multiple people were serving and playing different roles, they didn't step on each other's toes). The gin martini was so delicious, as were all the dishes we ordered. We sampled some appetizers, food from the grill and sushi. The food items were beautifully displayed. We were there on a Monday night so the noise level was good. I recall another time it did get quite loud a bit later. The menu font is on the small side so just be sure to bring your reading glasses. I would consider this a "treat" as it is pricey (it was my birthday).

About the restaurant
Basho is a Japanese word that is roughly translated as "location" or "a space where activities occur". It could be a family gathering, socializing with friends, or a business event; moreover, it could be the setting for an unforgettable experience. We call this setting "Basho".

Basho is a contemporary Izakaya brasserie where dishes are prepared in two separate areas: the principal kitchen and the sushi bar. Rather than offering individual starters and main courses, Basho serves dishes that are designed for sharing and are brought to the table steadily and continuously throughout the meal.

Your server will be happy to assist you in choosing dishes, such as our Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice Appetizer, which is highly popular or our specially crafted 1338 Signature Roll. We are also conveniently located within the heart of Fenway. If you're ever in the area for a Red Sox's game, stop by! We are only a 2 minute walk from Fenway Park!
