Just completing its first year on the dining scene in Telluride, Kazahana offers classic Japanese cuisine prepared by Chef Naoki Takahashi and his team. Sourcing the freshest seafood from around the world, the menu includes sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, chirashi, tartar and ceviche, as well as a selection of salads and hot entrees. Beverage options include Japanese inspired cocktails, whiskey, beer, and a top notch selection of sake and wine. The 10-seat Omakase Bar features a 18 course chef's choice tasting menu with optional sake and wine pairings. Kazahana offers happy hour 5-6pm featuring sushi and rotating drink specials.

I love sushi. But, sushi in the mountains, 9000’ elevation, about as far from the ocean as you can get? $200 (+ drinks) per person (for the omakase)? What could possibly go wrong? I admit, I was prepared for disappointment. Well, it was delicious. It was imaginative. It was visually striking. The progression, textures and proportions were carefully considered. The service was excellent. Good sake selection. The sushi chef is quite skilled - clearly a cut above. Friendly, too. An outstanding birthday dinner.

I went for the Pullman to celebrate my wife’s 40th birthday dinner. The staff couldn’t have been more courteous and even helped me arrange champagne for my table ahead of my visit so it was there when we arrived. They took time to answer our questions on the menu and make suggestions based on our palate. The food and drinks were outstanding as well! We are already talking about our next trip to Glenwood so we can make a return trip to The Pullman!

As second home owners we love to see the expanding Winter Park dining scene. The A Frame grill is an outstanding addition to Winter Park dining. We ate on a very quiet night just after Labor Day, the service, food and drinks were top notch. We will definitely return and soon.
